Mighty No. 9 director Koji Imaeda and lead character designer Kimo Kimo have unveiled another boss character, Mighty No. 7, the sleek red sword-wielding robot.
Starting out as a bot with scissors on the back of his head, Kimo Kimo designed this character before any backstory was created.
"Beck's design had just gotten approved -- I was so happy! In my excitement, I went ahead and design a "brother" robot from him on my own. I wasn't even assigned to work on boss designs at this point!"
Later on, roles for the Mighty Nos were established and project lead Keiji Inafune specified what he wanted--"a sword-wielding robot that fans would really respond to" thus furthering Kimo Kimo's creation.
As a result, after different ideas, a final design was reached. Bruce Lee came to be an inspiration for the character, and Mighty No. 7 ended up with swords in each hand, and a yellow scarf to smooth it out.
Mighty No. 9 does not yet have a release date, but is schedule to be released on the 3DS, among other platforms.
