Green, green.
Ooops, that's not it... I'm still new at this.

Great Miis, Daan.

A line removed from the interview transcript: "One unintended consequence of the game's design is that Link has gained about 30 pounds."

Yes, it is mostly content from older games, but a significant portion of those are from the GBA Rhythm Tengoku - The first game in the series - which never got a US release. So, for western gamers at least, there is a much better proportion of new vs. old content. Also, most of the games in RT were really fun.

TalkBack / Re: Mario and Sonic Racing To 3DS March 18

When I read the headline, I first thought that some sort of Mario Kart and Sonic Drift or Sonic R hybrid game called "Mario and Sonic Racing" had just been announced. I don't think that would be a bad idea, really.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo News Report: A Smashing Reaction

This is probably what Sakurai's reaction to the US Smash Ballot results was probably like.

1. Goku  -  Sakurai: "Not a game character. Rejected."
2. Simon Belmont  -  Sakurai: "Konami won't return any of my calls..."
3. Shantae  -  Sakurai: "...Who?"
4. Shovel Knight  -  Sakurai: "Okay, now you're just making people up. Haha, nice joke, but no."
5. Bayonetta  -  Sakurai: "Meh. I guess I could write some fun Pitt jokes about her 'huge guns.' Hehehe... Actually, yeah, let's do that!"

TalkBack / Re: Super Smash Bros Video Recap

I also wanna add that the end of the video felt like Sakurai saying, "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??!"

To me it felt more like he was saying "Finally, I'm free! I'm freeeeeeeee!".

TalkBack / Re: Newest Smash Brothers DLC Character Announced

I'm merely making an observation of how odd it is.  This is the oddest SSB guest character by far.  It must be the only character to make their Nintendo system debut in an SSB game!

I think Cloud's first Nintendo appearance was that Kingdom Hearts quasi-CCG brawler hybrid game on the GBA, though I can't think of any others where he even makes so much as a cameo.

Nintendo's knack for awful hardware and software names is spreading to their game characters as well, now.

No, there was nothing mentioning him as the Smash Ballot pick. The Direct ended with an announcement saying there would be another Smash-specific direct in December, though, so that would be the likeliest place to announce the ballot choices.

Great info, as always! I think the deal-breaker question everyone is wondering about this game right now, though, is "Does it come bundled with a scarf?"

After thinking about this for a while, I can definitely see the counter-argument to having voice or text chat in this game (Although I don't agree that it should cause the removal of the feature entirely). Suppose you were playing through a dungeon in a normal, 1-player Zelda game, and your friend who has already completed that dungeon on his own copy of the game watches you play and shouts out the solutions to all of the puzzles before you have even had a chance to explore the room you just entered. That would be incredibly frustrating, and I don't see any obvious way Nintendo would be able to design around that in Triforce Heroes unless the dungeon levels were randomly generated somehow.

As someone that tried the demo on the show floor, I can attest that my team and I would not have been able to complete the dungeon stage - much less defeat the boss - had we not been able to talk directly with each other. Lack of voice chat in Splatoon may be simply annoying since you can't coordinate attack strategies, but lack of voice chat in this game will actually impede your progress significantly. Communication is crucial here since many of the puzzles required extensive amounts of careful, coordinated team work. It's a shame, because the game was a blast when everyone on my team was communicating and working together. The game will still be fun without voice chat, but expect it to also be an order of magnitude more difficult to play.
