Does anyone know if any of the stuff that you may already have registered gets counted? I would hate to have my years of dedicated number/letter entry be lost.

I think NoA said that some of the things registered will count, I have plenty of unregistered Wii and DS games unregistered so I wonder how much I can get.

Why don't my Wii Shop Channel games and Wii Channel downloads appear in my registered games list?
You must first link your Wii Shop Channel to your Club Nintendo account. Once this link is created, the Virtual Console games you download from that point on will automatically be added to your list of registered games. Please note that even if this link has been created, it still may take up to an hour for your downloaded games to appear in your list of registered games.
Club Nintendo still isn't even acknowledging that I transfered my My Nintendo account to it yet. :/
In for one!!

How in the heck am I supposed to put a registration number in for VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES?!?!
If you linked your My Nintendo/Club Nintendo account to your Wii shop channel it automatically registers anything you downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel so basically VC,Wiiware, stuff like the internet, wii speak, nintendo channel.

It brought over lots of my VC, DS, and Wii ware stuff but it wants me to put in a pin number for each one! ::cries::

That's what I did for the past 3 hours since I had nothing better to do and full of insomnia and now it wants me to re-register some stuff again FUN! I'm done with registering stuff for tonight since it's 3am and I can't sleep yay!

But how do you register a virtual console or wii ware game? It isn't like they come in a physical box with a code.
How in the heck am I supposed to put a registration number in for VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES?!?!Read the FAQ. You have to e-mail Nintendo with information and they'll do it for you.
For those of you wondering why you have registered games but no points... you do know you have to take the corresponding surveys for the eligible games to actually get the coins, right?
the site keeps bumping me off, making me log back in every 2 minutes. Gah!
I'm able to fill out surveys now, things are a bit buggy still, but I bet I will be able to finish them all either tonight or this week at least. There's some stuff I have that isn't on my list- I hope I can add them. I'm glad this is up and running so fast, I wonder how often new prizes will be added.
yeah i agree. I guess Nintendo expected to release this next week or something and didn't expect people to find out and slam the website so fast.
None of this prize stuff really interests me. Can I sell things to UncleBob?YES! I want more stuff than I have points...

I'm all for it! ;)
I want the cards (to go with my Nintendo cards collection) and I don't have enough for them (yet). I can't decide if I want to get the US version of Game and Watch, since I've already got the Japanese version... I mean, I know I want to get it, but I only have so many points... ;)
Nintendo can fit ALL OF THE GAME AND WATCH games on a DS cartridge I have no clue why they limited it to 3. Wasn't the game and watch games like a Kilobite of data or something I remember hearing they released in the 70's or something.BACK THEN they were. Back then they had custom pictures for the screen so the code was essentially binary. Hell it probably was written in binary. Now they have to recreate each of those sprites, each of which would be like a 4kbgif. OH WAIT THEY COUDL STILL FIT IN EVERY GMEAND WATCH GAME AND MAKE IT AN UNLOCKABLE EXTRA IN PHANTOM HOURGLASS I AM SO ANGRY NOW.
So it'd look good next to my copy of Elektroplankton then?
If it had ALL OF THEM than I would be more inclined to get it. I heard they have a version of Zelda and Mario or something. Anyway as is i love G&W in Smash but not enough to waste so many points for .
Speaking of points, now the website is worse than before.
Yesterday I could go in and attempt to take survey's but it always threw me out, now the Survey's are all GONE. The single survey I did do I got credit for, but I don't have the option to go back. WTF.
I'm going to wait a little longer and hope Nintendo fixes things. This is really getting annoying.

UncleBob is insane if he thinks getting the US version is a good idea when he already has the Japanese version, since they'll almost certainly be virtually identical.

I just logged in and took the surveys for all the games I have registered. I am trying to get to platinum status for the free gift at the end of the year (Elite Status baby.)
I wish the Super Mario Galaxy Soundtrack was available for an award because I would buy that in a heart beat...or even just download it.
If you see a game on the list you don't have...try renting the game from Blockbuster...I did this once and got the Wii Registration Card. Of course I registered Wario Ware without owning the game...because I felt like I had owned it renting it 5 times.
600 coins in a year... that's like... $500 dollars worth of merchandise in a year? EGADS!cheapassgamer.com. :)
No but what's so special about platinum that you'd worry about it?I thought you got a special prize for reaching platinum?

I did not receive the Club Nintendo coins for two Virtual Console/WiiWare games that I downloaded before the program began.
The games are Secret of Mana (VC) and World of Goo (WiiWare).
My Wii's serial number is XX123456789.
Can you please credit my account with the coins for these games?
Thank you
I can understand your concern regarding coins for the games you registered at Club Nintendo. Here are some very important things to consider:
1. Coins are given for surveys completed, not for registering the game. 2. Surveys appear in your To-do list, but you may need to close your browser and log in again to see them. 3. Not all games registered will generate surveys, especially games released prior to December 2008. 4. Some games released before December 2008 do qualify. You can see a complete list here:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/club/en/faq.jsp#register_all
5. WiiWare games are only eligible for Post-Play surveys, which don't appear until four weeks after a game has been registered.
Answers to many questions regarding Club Nintendo and product registration can be found at our Club Nintendo FAQ. I’ve provided a direct link below:

The whole thing seems odd. if the year starts July 1st, shouldn't ALL THE GAMES from JULY 1st 2008 be given credit which includes VC and Wiiware ????

Have you been a Nintendo fan for long? Hehe.
Making their customers feel like they're special has NEVER been Nintendo's speciality, except in the case of repairs, and even there I'm hearing more and more worrisome news.

I know, the problem is I was using LOGIC and Nintendo. I keep wanting the rules of logic to apply to them.
I thought I let you guys know that the Club Nintendo site is undergoing repairs.Hopefully they will address the problems.
I got my Hanafuda cards today. They are so awesome, I didn't realize how small they were but they have great artistic style and I am glad I got them over Game and Watch!

I'm still waiting for my game and watch lol, I wonder if it has a game registration code. The hanafuda cards are next on my list but right now I'm at 640 coins and it will be 670 if I can find Kirby Ultra Super Star.
Did you show her your nose penis?
Oh? I know someone mentioned the nose penis. Thats all I remember. Sorry for stepping on your toes.
Poor girl.
Heres how a stylus/game card case looks like (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14188215&postcount=1301)
I can't wait for the DSi. Is it confirmed that they are different Stylus's are is Vudu just assuming?
The DSi's stylus is slightly longer, so we took the above photo to compare the two. Honestly, we didn't notice during gameplay.
MAV history lesson,
The first thing Nintendo ever made was Hanafuda cards in the 1800's.

i rather the cards be actual playing cards not hafenda or whatever. That will be neato.

I think the hanafuda cards are really classy, though.

That game is in club house games too for DS . I tried to play it. Doesn't seem to difficult but THE GAME CONCEPT IS ALIEN TO ME
While I do think the Hanafuda cards are awesome, I also think that a set of "normal" playing cards (a "French Deck" I guess) with a similar degree of cleverness would also be nice. The Mario Party ones aren't very classy, that's for sure.
My Game & Watch collection still hasn't shipped. :(

I find myself strangely curious as to what the gift you get for platinum status is. Would hoping for a game be ill-advised? Something like the Game And Watch Collection... Maybe a "sequel" to it or something...
No you keep your platinum status, I only have 150 gold coins now but still am platinum.
Oh, man. I forgot how much I wanted that SNES Wii controller. I hope they give us that option.

Remember what you got for getting together the points at the floating store in Wind Waker (at least the first few times)? No I don't as I never tried for it. I'm guessing it was something useless...

As cool as that would be, I'm fine with using the Classic Controller for SNES games even if the feel is slightly off.
However, if they offered a N64 style wii controller I'd buy it in freaking heartbeat. Hell i'd buy games i wouldn't play just to register them and redeem the points.
The more and more I play N64 games the more i realize how perfectly they played with their appropriate controller and nothing else. I was giving Star Fox and Mario Kart a go yesterday and didn't play for long because of how uncomfortable i was. For both games using the control stick in the position is in gets uncomfortable afterawhile, as well as using the A buttong. I tried playing Star Fox with my Cube controller after a handcramp, and although more comfortable, the L and R buttons of the cube controller aren't well suited for the rappid taps for continuous barrel rolls :(

by the way when you buy something doesn't that change your status ? so all those who bought Game and Watch collection mean your NO LONGER Platinum members since you need to have x amount of coins to Y status ? So if you got 900 points and you take away 800 for Mr. game and watch that means your no longer a platinum member ? or am i mistaken
Wait, the fact that I'm platinum will get me something eventually?
it would make the shopkeeper dance around and praise you.Depending on who they sent to do that, it might not be such a bad prize after all. ;)

I believe you can register your DS and Wii but I think it isn't for points but rather it just extends the warranty or something. Don't hold me to that statement but I tried both of mine and I didn't get any points from it.It extends your warranty by 3 months.
I connected my Wii Shop account to my Club Nintendo account and my wiiware and VC games haven't shown up. Anyone else with that problem? I sent an email to Nintendo and they actually responded by saying it should be fixed soon.
Hmm... these post-play surveys last until like, 2010... I think I'll reap the coins from them NEXT Nintendo year... hmmm yesss.....
Have you guess been able to take the Mega Man 3 survey? I click on it and a blank survey page pops up. It hasn't happened to any of the other survey's I have taken, and I have taken a few.

I did them all right away to try to earn platinum status. Now I'm platinum but I have 750 points but I should have just got enough to become platinum and saved them all until july.....I feel like a fool

Yeah, I'll probably get the cards, but since my points don't expire for awhile I'll wait... actually, I think I promised to get something for unclebob, so maybe I'll just do that when I stop being lazy and decide to spend money on shipping.

Ok I got my DS game carrying case. I really like it. I got it 5 business days after I ordered it Last Saturday. ;D ;D ;D :) :) :)
I'm surprised how it closes, I thought it would be a zipper or those little snap buttons. Neither. Its 4 little magnets that are on each corner of the inside. So it sort of snaps together and has a great grip, no worries about games slipping out either they are very tight. I sort of worry if the magnets might damage the game in any way.... ??? ???
Anyway
Ok I took a few pictures so you can better see how it is.

I don't mind its all mario, but why limit it to mario characters have samus, link, etc tooI'm guessing it was just easier to make it all Mario. Most of that artwork is from Mario Party 8, so it was probably what they had the easiest access to.
So I got a big letter from NOA today:

June is the month when they will reset the points, right?
Nintendo has released a silver game case with an aluminum stylus for 700 points. It's like they waited for me to order the white case.
https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/Silver+Nintendo+DS+Game+Card+Case/10502.do
Thanks, Nintendo :/
June is the month when they will reset the points, right?
Nintendo doesn't reset any points. June 30 is the cutoff to reach Platinum status (600 points) for the year. If you have Platinum status on June 30 Nintendo will send you free stuff (good stuff, judging by what Japan got). You then have to register another 600 points worth of stuff to get Platinum status for the next year. But your accumulated point total is safe until you spend it. It will not be reset on July 1.
I reached Platinum status, but used my points. It says that I am still a Platinum member, will I get any free stuff even if I used my points but regained my status?
I reached Platinum status, but used my points. It says that I am still a Platinum member, will I get any free stuff even if I used my points but regained my status?
Yes, you will still get free stuff on June 30. But then on July 1 your status will reset and you'll have to register another 600 points worth of crap in order to regain Platinum status.
I have also reached Platinum status, but I have not spent any of my points yet. However, I'll still need to earn an additional 600 points after July 1 in order to reach Platinum status for 2009 - 2010.
If you currently have Platinum status and you don't need the points to redeem for a prize immediately it's best to hold off registering anything until after the annual point total resets on July 1.
I got one, too. Unfortunately, the nearest location is about 30 miles away and I can't be bothered to drive all that way just to play with a DSi.
Does anyone have a list of what VC and Wiiware games will get a survey for points?
We should be getting tons of points just for registering their lame games from the GameCube era, aka "keep them afloat."
What gives, Failtendo?
I'm still waiting for Nintendo to bring over the exclusive Club Nintendo-only soundtrack CDs they have in Japan, as that's really the only swag Nintendo could offer on the service I'd give a damn about. I know Mario Galaxy had one, but it'd be nice if there were a Twilight Princess one as well.

I think he meant through legit, legal ways. Of coarse the music for the game is available online if you want it, but most people prefer to legally own their music.
What's the difference really? Either way you have the music files on your computer and can do whatever you want with them. They would probably end up of better quality than any "rip" you could download off of the Internet (at least in my experience they do).
Frankly, I don't condone either unless the people who make the game give players no other alternative. The sheer number of game OSTs I'd buy if they were only put up for sale...but I digress.I'd buy official OSTs if they existed but the stuff I wanted was from NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64 games. I know there are a few official N64 CD's but they weren't from the game I wanted. Also, not sure if this will mean anything to you but I have never distributed any of the music I captured to anyone else.
I just did the math- I have enough games to register and post-plays to fill out that I'll have platinum status for the next Club Nintendo year on day one! I wonder what our special summer gift will be this year?
Also, am I the only one not doing all the surveys because I've already reached platinum status for the year and they don't expire for like 4 years? I want to make sure I can be platinum next year too. =P
I'm still confused as to how this all works. If i reach platinum before the next Club Nintendo year, do i retain platinum status (or any points for that matter?) cuz i haven't redeemed any of my points yet, and June is coming up quick!
And whats left on my to-do-list
I figure thats somewhere between 200-300 points just chillin waiting for July 1st.
I figure thats somewhere between 200-300 points just chillin waiting for July 1st.
I've had games appear on my to do list contains lots of games with no actions either. I think any game you register that earns you points is on the to-do list, even if there is nothing you can do.
I wonder if the Platinum Status prize will be the same as what Japan will get for this year, or if it will be some of the stuff which Japan got for the previous years?
In 2006 they gave out television remotes shaped like a Wiimote:
http://kotaku.com/gaming/wii_mote/its-a-tv-remote-its-a-wii+mote-no-its-a-tv-remote-207030.php
It's cool, but it isn't something which I would want.
In 2007 they gave a choice of three prizes: Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack, Super Famicom-styled Classic Controller, or a calendar (who would choose a calendar???)
http://gakuranman.com/club-nintendo-hanafuda/
I'd take the controller, that'd be awesome.
In 2008 the choices were: an "authentic" Mario cap, a golden Wii Wheel, and a calendar (seriously???)
http://gakuranman.com/club-nintendo-member-gifts-2008/
I'd get the gold wheel because I'm sure I'd look goofy in the Mario hat.
In any case, I'm looking forward to it!
I'm hoping for the NES style controller or the Mario Cap.It isn't NES, it's Super NES!
I'm hoping for the NES style controller or the Mario Cap.It isn't NES, it's Super NES!
If you got the Mario cap you couldn't half-way it. You'd have to get a fake mustache (if you can't grow a suitable one) and red overalls too. And a taste for ravioli. And some way to throw fireballs. Pics must follow.
I could try to breathe fire.Breathe fire? What are you doing, auditioning for Bowser? Mario throws fireballs. With the power of a flower. Flower Power! Maybe you could rig something up involving a blowtorch?
On a stick.
I'm going to be stupid and hope for something there's virtually no chance of, an N64 controller Classic Controller.
I'm going to be stupid and hope for something there's virtually no chance of, an N64 controller Classic Controller.
I've seen some mods online to make an N64 controller work with the GC/Wii
There are also cables for sale that you can use to make an N64 cable connect to a GC. Though with the one I found you had to choose from one of a pre-programmed set of button layouts.
Those canny Nintendo folks: just checked my Club Nintendo to do list and it knows that I have a DSi before I have even registered it. (Probably because I downloaded some DSi-ware games.) Man.. I have so many unclaimed coins. Can't wait until July when I can start taking surveys again.

I've seen those, but I don't want to have a cord and I want a usable analog stick.
Does one get a special prize for simply having Gold status?
Err... when setting up your DSi (user name, birth date, favorite color, internet connections, etc.), do you remember entering your Club Nintendo information? :)
I don't think they automatically sync. I know with Virtual Console and WiiWare games you need to link your Wii system with your Club Nintendo account.
you know what would be a great gift? Wii Motion Plus with Wii Play 2. It's only offered from Club Nintendo and is the hardware itself and minigames that use it. It also includes demos of current games that use it.
Now that would be cool. A cheap game for Wii and hardware.
Register it, but click out of the survey.
Registered Punch-Out, and reached 700 coins. Ordered the Silver DS game case, with the Aluminum stylus which I've been wanting for quite some time. Back to 0 coins.
I just got a DSi. If I register it now will I lose those coins once it's July 1?
I just thought of something. Can we assume that all of the games eligible for coins will always be eligible? For example, I don't think that WarioWare Smooth Moves is still being produced, so it might be taken off the list at some point. If they changed the list then I think they would do it at the start of the Club Nintendo year, which could be bad for those of us who are holding off on registering some games.
Does one get a special prize for simply having Gold status?
As far as I know, no. It's Platinum or bust.
Interesting, I didn't think of that. Perhaps after that five-year survey period, that's when the games can no longer be registered? I hope that's the case.I just thought of something. No, not yet. Though notice there are expiration dates for the surveys but they are close to three years away. New Super Mario Brothers doesn't expire until 2013. You can register them anytime you want before then.
Does one get a special prize for simply having Gold status?
As far as I know, no. It's Platinum or bust.
No, it's Gold or Platinum. Nintendo has confirmed this several times. They haven't said if there will be a difference in the prize, I hope so because otherwise it makes Platinum status worthless if Gold members get the same benefits.
I think that gold doesn't get a choice of what prize they get but platinum gets three options of what to receive.
I think that gold doesn't get a choice of what prize they get but platinum gets three options of what to receive.
Keep in mind what goes in Japan doesn't necessary apply to the US. ;)
It also looks like you won't be able to claim that prize on July 1st, or possibly even July. By the end of the calendar year? How long is it going to take? We've impatient here!
True. Nintendo especially is conservative with their numbers. Here's hoping the prizes can be claimed in July!It also looks like you won't be able to claim that prize on July 1st, or possibly even July. By the end of the calendar year? How long is it going to take? We've impatient here!
Probably just being cautious. It's the same way they tell you something will take 2-3 weeks to deliver but you usually get it in less than a week.

I used up my Club Nintendo points on some sweet hand towels, should be washing my hands with those babies in no time.

That's a nice trick to force everyone to enter their coin codes at once instead of hearding them all for the next calendar year to instantly get to platinum status.

It amazes me that after all this time there are still people who don't understand the elite status system.
This is too much! Does Nintendo have enough Wii games out for us to reach this 5k goal? That's 100 games, right? Is the Japanese point system different?
What I'm saying is ....
I used up my Club Nintendo points on some sweet hand towels, should be washing my hands with those babies in no time.
what are you talking about ?
What I'm saying is that people are hoarding their coins for each fiscal year status change. But that only means you can add 800 coins worth of games per year for the Platunim status. If Nintendo has one or two big 5k prizes then people who want them will have to wait several years to be able to afford at at 800 coins a year. So they may decide to just post all of their codes and surveys now in order to get the special 5k prize instead of slowly entering 800 coins/year. This would then require those gamers to buy more Nintendo products to get enough coins for next years platinum status instead of just entering their old codes at the turn of the fiscal year.
They have expiration dates here too. But the earliest one on my list is New Super Mario Brothers at 2013.

I'm hoping they offer some new prizes because currently there's nothing I want. If there's nothing new offered then I will probably get the Game and Watch Collection and sell it.
I don't collect games I can't play.
*sweeps XBox 360 games under the rug*
Don't mind that. That's just a strange lump in the rug.
Congratulations! You reached Platinum status and earned a Special Reward.
Club Nintendo Special Rewards will be announced by the end of July 2009. We will send you an email notification when your reward is available.
Note: If you are a member of a Club Nintendo Family account, your Account Administrator will have to accept this Special Reward.
Special Reward orders will be distributed by the end of the calendar year.
As part of the Club Nintendo year end, your Elite Status Coin total has been reset. Coins earned between July 1st 2009 through June 30th 2010 will count towards next year's Elite Status Special Reward! Remember, although your status has been reset your Coin balance remains the same.
I wonder what (hopefully good but probobly cheap crappy) gift they will send the platinums....
Yeah baby...
Day 1. Suck it. :)
Well I'm hoping they do something big since it is the 1st year in the U.S.
You would think that they want to encourage people to try even harder next year, or atleast register what they do have.
I wish someone could contact someone at Nintendo and even find out how many people registered their stuff to reach Platinum or Gold status.
How much you want to bet he is going to order a bunch of the blue Wiimotes once they show up on the store and sell them on eBay?
lol... don't worry guys, I was just screwin' around - I edited the HTML code on my computer to add a few points... shame it isn't real though...
I really wonder what effect the surveys have on anything. I doubt they'd be used to determine anything regarding game releases.
I was brutally honest with the SSBBrawl survey and I'm sure it was discarded for being a "joke"...
PMs are scary.
Tell that to our monster PM we've created back and forth for the past several months.

they now have bonus ways to get points.
"Plan to Buy" - say you plan to buy the game and then buy it gets you an extra 10 points.
then do the post play survey within two weeks of purchase also gets you an additional 10 points
with the 50 points for the game and 10 points for the survey itself, you can now total out at 80 points for a single purchase.
Are you sure about that, because the Nintendo site explained it differently. Said you had to register the "Intend to Buy" within a certain time frame of release to get the "Intend to Buy" points. I think it was 14 days or something like that.
As far as I know, there's no time limit for doing the surveys after you've registered them. For example, I registered New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on 5/12/2009. Did the Registration Survey and Post-Play survey on 7/1 and got 50+10+10+10 coins for it.that might be it, but there was an additional 10 points to those that do the survey within 14 days of registration(or purchase according to my previous post).
In regards to intend to buy, I was under the understanding that you had to register the game (although not necessarily do the survey) within 4 weeks of the game's release. I could be wrong though.

Um, you yourself explained it a few posts earlier. You get 10 points if you say you intend to buy it an then actually buy it. If you buy it within 2 weeks you get an ADDITIONAL 10 coins. That means you can get 20 extra coins if you say you intend to buy it and then you buy it within 2 weeks. You can still get 10 extra coins just for saying you intend to buy it and then later on get it. Fire Emblem is still showing up on my To Do list with "Register This Game".
Also, there IS a time limit for doing surveys and they say on your To Do list when they expire (although I think most post-play surveys don't expire until 2012-2014).

1) You do "Intend To Buy" for 10 point (after step 2)
2) buy the game and register it for 50 points (+ the 10pts from step 1)
3) do the survey within 14 days and get 20 points (10pts for survey & 10pts for doing it within 14 days)
for a total of 80 points for one game.
I might be wrong, but thats how I came to interpret what was on Nintendo.com
* Register a Nintendo DSi, complete a quick survey, and link your Nintendo DSi to your Club Nintendo account to earn 160 Coins (wireless broadband internet connection required).
* Register a Wii or Nintendo DS game and complete a quick survey.Oddly enough, it doesn't mention the Post-play surveys for Wii/DS titles...
Wii games = 50 Coins
Nintendo DS games = 30 Coins
Wii Shop Channel games/Wii Channels/DSiWare = 10 Coins (Only eligible for Post Play Surveys. See our FAQ for more information.)
* Indicate your intent to buy a game and you'll earn 10 extra Coins after you buy it, register it and complete the survey. They mention no time limit between the launch of the game and when you have to buy it. I could have sworn there was one... ?
* Register a Nintendo game and complete a quick survey within 4 weeks of its launch and earn an additional 10 Coins!I really think you just have to register the game within 4 weeks from launch and do the survey at your convenience... I purchased the following games at launch recently:
How Intend to Buy Works
Help us gauge interest in upcoming Nintendo-published games! Four weeks before a game launches, the option to register your intent to buy it will appear here. Let us know you intend to buy the game and take a short survey. When the game launches, buy it, register it, and complete the registration survey and you'll earn 10 extra Coins! Remember - you must indicate your intent to buy within the Intend to Buy date range listed for each game to be eligible for the extra Coins.

That implies you have to buy at launch, but they didn't really specify how long a launch window is. That why I came to the understanding I did.
If you want to get rid of it, you should send it to me (the post card, not just the code...)
I'm only about 140 coins away from 800 and I plan to order and open the G&W game. So if you want to wait until near the end of Summer I should have enough by then and I'll let you know the contents. I'll even post pics.

I wouldn't buy it. It's a novelty nothing else, maybe something else will pop up soon. Buy stuff that is practical not just neat. Nintendo could have put EVERY SINGLE game and watch game on a DS cart but didn't.
But the sequel only has two G&W games on it. ;)
Anybody here who has the game already, does it have a registration code to get points from it?According to GameFAQs, it does not have a registration card.
Then saving it for future eBay use it is. Should get quite some money since Club Nintendo is the only way to get the game.

That hasn't stopped the Zelda bonus discs from making a lot of money. Even used copies sell for about $35, unopened copies sell for a lot more. Rare items are valuable because they are rare, regardless of how easy the content is to get (a rare album will still sell for a lot of money even if it is easy to find on CD or download from iTunes/Amazon because the actual physical album is rare).
Not a problem. I just put in my closet or something. I will probably end up playing it though. I don't sell any of my games anymore though (I think the last time I sold or traded in a game was like 4 years ago).
I also chose the game because... well, what am I going to do with a Mario cap?
This is a hard decision, If the game doesn't have much content i wont really feel compelled to get it. On the other hand, a hat, come-on Nintendo.

Seriously... Punchout DLC I might play once.... or a hat that will get put in a box in a closet.
I would have preferred a $20 off the Nintendo game of my choice coupon or Tennis & Boxing DLC for WSR or something other than what they did offer.

I don't know, but I'd bet you could just buy the Mario cap from eBay. There will be at least one person selling one on there: me.
You can't buy the download from somebody else.
Just something to consider.

Anyone want to sell me their hat or calendar? :)How much are you offering for the Mario hat?
Are you sure about that? If that's the case then this is a difficult decision... Which one will be worth more? You can't buy the download from somebody else.
Sure you can. You get a download code on a piece of paper. It's not linked to your Wii or your Club Nintendo account in any way. Why can't you sell it?

What makes you think you will get a code to download it? I assume that your account will be credited with it or Nintendo will just send the game to you (like when someone gifts you a VC/WW game).
I would love the Mario hat, but I think I will go with the Doc mingame.
I wish I as a Platinum member could get the calendar!
I really don't know what I will pick...

Wait, what's that Mario & Luigi DS game on the Japanese list? That's Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, which is titled Mario and Luigi RPG 3 in Japan.
Out of fear that they would update the catalog, I just blew 1,800 coins. :(

So has anyone gotten their Club Prize yet? I want my Mario hat.
Also, the site is down for maintenance. Maybe they are updating it with new prizes?
So has anyone gotten their Club Prize yet? I want my Mario hat.The redemption period just ended on the 11th and things like this usually say "wait 4 to 6 weeks for delivery". I wouldn't expect it for another month at the least, though something tells me there's a reason it says they'll be received by November 1st. Mid-October perhaps?

IGN: Club Nintendo seems to be a genuine success in the US, especially with the reveal of the two premiums for the loyal users. But we have to ask: what's next for Club Nintendo? We're holding onto our points for some good items, so when can we expect the item list to get a refresh?
Denise Kaigler: Well, we can't announce new specific items until all the details have been locked down. Sometimes that's frustrating to us as well, since we want to get the news to Nintendo fans as soon as we know about it.
One great reward that most of your readers probably already know about is the downloadable Doc Louis's Punch-Out!! game, which will be available exclusively to Club Nintendo members who have reached Platinum status. It was developed specially for North America, and will be available for download by the end of November. (Of course this applies only to those members who reached Platinum status by June 30 and who chose the game as their reward during the redemption period in July and August.) From what the Club Nintendo folks here tell me, "it's going to be pretty awesome."
Because you asked, I wouldn't dare let this Nintendo Minute expire without leaving you with one, albeit small, piece of insider information about Club Nintendo. Keep your eyes on the Club Nintendo Web site in September. That's when we will offer members some exclusive Nintendo artwork. For the reason I mentioned earlier, I can't say any more than that right now – it's a secret to everybody. I'm really sorry. Hopefully some of you will enjoy it. Others may choose to hang on to the Coins and wait for a different reward. I love surprises. I hope you do as well. :)
Maybe we'll get some high quality wall posters? That would be nice only if they had this available:
Actually, I've done one better: I put that image onto a shirt. It is quite the attention-grabber.
So, yeah, I've already paid once to put that image onto something so it would be nice to get a poster for free.

It's odd because I have coins that I can use for anything.
However any new coins I do go 2010 .

I had enough stuff registered on Day 1 of this year that, after completing the surveys, I got 600 coins and made platinum this year. Since then, I've been registering stuff, but not doing the surveys.
If today was the first day of the new Club Nintendo year, I could complete some surveys and have 490 coins toward Platinum.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!????? A Mario Hat!? I have been looking like crazy for one of these and I miss my chance!? I even made a thread about it years ago. I just saw the Nintendo show thing on the nintendo channel when I saw the girl wearing the Mario hat. I have been avoiding Halloween for 6 years now because I could not find a hat good enough to wear as a Mario hat. I want that hat so badly guys you have no idea! And apparently I can't get it anymore.... lame!
If anyone can help me obtain one or 2 at the most in any way, even just lead me to something online, I will reward your kindness somehow! Please NWR friends and fiends, I gotta find a 2 of those hats!
2 of these official Mario hats are just fine, does a Luigi even exist? I plan to slightly modify one with Racoon ears.
Dude that would be awesome, i'll cover the shipping cost and time as well. I think I saw an add in the paper for a mario costume, with a seemingly well done hat, is it really the same?
Zelda poster? All I'm getting (as far as i know) is a stinkin calender!

No, there was supposed to be a calender you would receive if you didn't have enough coins to reach the highest tier that had the Mario Hat and Punch Out Code, if I remember correctly. The 3 Zelda posters is something else.

You're not getting a bazooka? How could you?
Darn it, I honestly don't understand.
EDIT:
Ok I got it, thanks BlackNMild.
If they aren't planning on offering any more games then they should put some plushies up there like the Mario character ones from 1993. That's what I might go for.
Can you link to what you're talking about? The only Mario character plushies i remember from 1993 are the booto-leg ones i'd seen at carnivals as prizes that were mario and luigi just.. off colored lol. They were released only in Japan actually, I think they were in those UFO/claw catcher machines. As far as I know there was a whole set based on Super Mario All-Stars, but I'm not sure what all was released. Here's a list of plushies from the Mario Wiki:
The link should take you to your club orders where, after logging in, you are given a code that you can enter into the Wii.
That's how it worked for me.
I received the Mario hat yesterday! Here is a pic of me wearing it:

I was pretty underwhelmed by Doc Louis's Punch-Out. I was hoping it would be more than than a fight against Louis. I wasn't expecting a full fledged game, but it's just a fight against Doc and a training mode. Nothing more. I should have picked the Mario hat.
wtf is that dreamcast style N64 controller at the top/centerThat is the Hori Pad Mini. If you're thinking of getting one then note that it was released only in Japan and is therefore somewhat valuable, and, frankly, isn't worth it.
and how do you use the D-pad comfortably!?You don't.
As for the picture of that hat... i actually think the one I bought for caterkiller is different than the one Nintendo sent out.. and better to boot. The hat from Club Nintendo was designed to replicate Mario's hat as much as possible and therefore isn't meant to function as a hat for practical use. Anyone who plans on wearing it may be disappointed, as it is too small for the average person to comfortably wear.
I haven't received my code for Doc Louis' Punch-Out!! either. :(I understand my stuff being late since it is a physical item in the mail, but you should at least have your game already. they could just give you a download code or something.
The link should take you to your club orders where, after logging in, you are given a code that you can enter into the Wii.
That's how it worked for me.
Go to Club Nintendo's site and log in to your account. On the left side of the page, look for "Reward Order Inquiry" (it should be right under "My Newsletters"). Click "See All", one of the messages should say "View Game Code" and that will include your code and instructions on how to redeem it in the Wii Shop Channel.
What do you mean by messed up? Damaged or something?yeah. damaged.
Considering Nintendo said you should get your reward no later than November 1, you definitely should contact Nintendo.
i swear every time i see this thread bumped, i remember i have games that need to be registered and try to log on to my account, but end up doing a "forgot password".Doh!
then every time, i realize that i was inputing my username wrong and not my password. SOB!
Why are my Coins listed with an expiration date?
Unredeemed Coins will expire two (2) full Club Nintendo years (July 1 - June 30), plus whatever is left in the current Club Nintendo year, after they are earned. Example: Coins earned in March 2009 would not expire until June 30, 2011.
I'll probably get the Game And Watch collection and sell it. Though I might as well wait until my coins are close to expiring before I do that in the off chance that they add something worthwhile.
You need better rewards and more reward options.
My coins are likely to expire before I see something I really want.
why not coupons for $$ off more games, or access to special editions or WiiWare/VC downloads?
Discount on or special colors for wiimotes, nunchuck, M+ and matching protective casing?
Also, why not give points on 3rd party purchases. Every 3rd party purchase benefits Nintendo too. You could give points based on the quality of the game so that shovelware gives alot less points than a real 3rd party game such as Monster Hunter 3 or Dragon Quest IX
Discounts on Nintendo items. $70 for a complete controller* is asking a bit too much.
*(wiimote, motion plus, nunchuck)
How about if you make a certain amount of points in a Club year(Diamond Status), you get access to exclusive Game Demos that are not available to the public.
Like next year being able to download an exclusive playable (E3) demo of the Zelda Wii or any of the other games on the show floor.
For everyone that does the survey, I'm curious as to what you posted for questions #16 #17(the final question):I just reworded a part of your response because I was too lazy to write my own comments.
That's fine. If we all send in similar suggestions then maybe they will get noticed and mentioned to someone that has the power to maybe explore them.
1.5 years? Are you in some kind of weird time warp BnM? Club Nintendo launched on December 15th. It's not even been running for a full year yet...
There are new prizes available and I personally couldn't want any of them....
There are 3 Mario folder and bookmark sets. Each folder comes with it's own matching bookmarks.
2 sets of Mario and Nintendogs greeting cards with white envelopes included- and no, they're not even the cool kind you could get in Japan that fold in different ways- they're just plain cards.
The folders are 250 coins and the cards are 300 coins.
The Wii Remote holder is a stylish item that holds more than Wii Remotes. Trust me.
AUGH, it's CONVENIENT for you to actually go to the store. I live on the other side of the country.

I didn't feel like making a new thread or anything so I'm just gonna stick this here.
I was downloading a WiiWare Demo (Wold of Goo) and the download animation was different than usual.
Mario and Luigi were swimming around the screen sometimes collecting the coins that scroll by.
Is this something new or is it just something I late to notice?
Here is what Nintendo needs to put up on Club Nintendo ASAP

Actually, I think that has already been available here for a long time. That looks like "My Aquarium", which has been available on WiiWare in North America since September 2008.Is it really? I've never seen it. Either way, I'd rather spend coins on it than actual money.
Did not register the game early, Bob. No idea if the bundle gave me more coins. I just registered the number I got in the box. I did recently "pre-register" for Pokemon HeartGold because that's the review game I hope to get (instead of Silver).
I reached Platinum status for this year. I wonder what we're going to get this time? I guess I'll find out in two months time...
Not Super Mario Galaxy 2?
Speaking of, when does the Club Nintendo year officially end? Is it June 1st or June 30th? The reason I ask is, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is released May 23rd, so if the year ends June 30th, if I wanted the coins to count for next year's Platinum status, I'd have to give up the 10-coin bonus for registering within four weeks of launch.

both. and you should take Halbred (dressed as Wario) (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=31243.0) with you too.
Bonus surveys are popping up.
I have four bonus surveys showing up.
Wii Registrant Thank You Survey (20 Coins)
Mystery Case Files Thank You Survey (10 Coins)
Nintendo DSi XL Thank You Survey (10 Coins)
Bonus Survey (20 Coins)
Something to note, each of these surveys expire on 6/30 of this year (the MCF survey expires on 7/31).
Also while on topic, will Nintendo transfer my games from my old wii to my new wii? Wiiware/VC?
I know they send something to Gold and platinum status, any idea what it'll be this year, and is it worth getting to platinum? I'm 40coins shy of doing so.
Yeah, I've registered Mario Galaxy 2, I was thinking of getting Sin & Punishment 2, would that count for coins? I'm assuming so, being published by Nintendo, right?
I had 950 coins in this year (hit 600 on Day 1, registered my DSiXL, completed a few bonus surveys here and there, etc...) so I went ahead and topped off at 1,200 (double platinum!) *just* in case there's some kind of option to get two prizes or anything. Would have hated to have had all those coins waiting and lost out on the ability to get an extra prize. Besides, I have enough coins banked to get Platinum for the next two years... might as well redeem them.

I can't speak for the Xbox, but the best PS2 games ever got was Progressive Scan (Valkyrie Profile 2 is the only game that comes to mind right now).

So what's new?
I 'intended to buy' that game so I will get 10 more points and the post survey so I could get a ton of points like 80 from galaxy 2 so I'm thinking about saving it, is that a good idea?

Do what I do with intend to buys - register the game's code immediately, then exit out of the survey (by closing the window or clicking a link). This registers your game (don't have to worry about losing the code or forgetting which games you haven't registered) but doesn't give you any coins until you go back and complete the survey. When you do, you'll still be awarded the Intend to Buy bonus and the Early Registration bonus - at least, that's how it worked for me at the beginning of this Club Nintendo year.

Won't the intend to buy status stay around for a while? At least until July? I'm not worried about losing the code or forgetting which games I haven't registered (this is the only one left) . I just don't want to get coins for this year when I'm already at Platinum status.
UncleBob, i'm pretty sure the survey are separate coins. It adds coins to your account as soon as you enter the code. I am not sure how you would lose the code anyways, just leave it in the game box.

Sadly, I've not played Smash Bros since I had to send my Wii in for repair and the internal memory got wiped. It sucks to think about having to unlock everything all over again. :(wouldn't a Cloud OS be perfect for that situation...... (runs back to rumor thread)
You should; I know the DSi was worth 160 coins.
However, I don't know what will happen if you've already registered one of your previous systems. Even if you registered it before Club Nintendo was brought to America they might hold it against you.
I mentioned that in my post, you are getting the coins for the games (not the system).
Is anyone else hoping for the golden Wii Wheel?
Eh, that's something which can be found on the Internet for free. Something like a golden wheel is a collector's item.
There's a way to check your yearly status, I forget how to do it though...
you need 630 coins for this year, not just 630 total coins in your account.
So if you already had left over from last year and you only added enough from this year to equal 630, then you still need more coins.
I wish we did too. I'd buy more Nintendo games and register them more often. I still have a game from last year I have yet to register because it would be a waste of possible status being able to reach platinum.
Is it a popular item with limited stock, or does it normally take that long to receive a reward from Club Nintendo?
I'm surprised that this close to the deadline to reach Platinum Status that they haven't announced yet what the year-end rewards will be.

Were you around last year? It wasn't until after the CN year ended (the 14th, I believe) that they announced the prizes...

I got an email from someone at NOA stating that they are bringing back the White Nintendo DS Game Card Case. They are offering it for half the coins it was offered for at first so it's now 300 instead of 600. They also refunded me the difference in coins so I now have more coins for stuff I really don't want. I checked my balance and it's true, but I don't see the Card Case being offered, but so help me when it comes back I will get another one. Anyone else get word about this?

I emailed them back [/size]Thank You for such a wonderful gesture. As you know Club Nintendo year ends June 30th, I know you just added the coins but I was wondering if you could take them away and add them again on July 1st so these coins could count toward 2011 platinum status. Is this possible?

I don't think it would make a difference, you didn't technically earn those coins and I don't think they would count the coins towards your status.
A few more days and I think I can make it half way back to Platinum on day 1
For SMG2, do I need to do the survey exit trick to get the early registration bonus but not not log the points?
or is it too late for that now?

You have to spend them before June 30th of next year, not this year, so there's at least a chance there will be something you want before they expire.

Nope, and I don't see that it was ever offered in the list of announcements from Nintendo.
I was on Club Nintendo doing a few surveys, and I noticed that there's still no Intend to Buy on Donkey Kong Country Returns, just one for Golden Sun DS. I guess we probably won't be getting that 10 coin bonus on that one.

Got the messenger bag.
One thing I noticed (you'll see it in 1) is that it's pretty small. It fit in my mailbox, and I live in a apartment building where the mail box is slightly larger than my hand.
I got a box in the mail today... but then I found out it was light bulbs.

Game & Watch™: Ball
Ball, the first title of the Game & Watch series, has been reproduced and reissued exclusively for Club Nintendo members! This unit is a faithful reproduction of Nintendo’s first handheld gaming system, originally released in 1980. The objective of the game is to keep the balls in the air while juggling. Move the Juggler’s arms left and right to catch the balls without dropping any, and the challenge increases the longer you can juggle. And of course, it’s not only a game, but a watch too!

Really wish I saved my coins instead of spending them on the First Game & Watch DS game. Though I am over half way to the 1200 goal. I'd probably have enough if it weren't for my tight (read: nonexistent) gaming budget.
Mop it up, what do you mean your coins are expiring? You still have coins left from early 2009 that you haven't spent? Maybe I should check mine too. There isn't anything I really want though.
No, just the 5 3DS games Nintendo will have at launch. (Nintendogs + Cats different breads count as 3 different games)
Do surveys expire?
Yes. In general, Product Registration surveys expire after 7 days, and Post Play surveys expire 120 days after registration. Please review the date listed next to the survey in your To-Do list to ensure that you take the survey before it expires.
Has anyone gotten the care package from club Nintendo yet?
So after my friend got the wii party package in the mail, I emailed nintendo to find out why he got one and I did not even though we are both club nintendo members. Here was their response:
Hello,
Thank you for your email.
Your friend is very lucky: we only sent out a handful of those gifts to random Club Nintendo members.
Recipients of the gift were chosen at random from our Club Nintendo members. There was no way to qualify for the gift, and unfortunately we don't have enough to go around. It was just a random gift.
While you weren't selected to receive the latest, random gift, we hope you'll continue to participate in Club Nintendo for all of the normal rewards and benefits, as well as a chance to potentially receive a future gift at random--if we decide to do something like that in the future.
We do appreciate your participation in Club Nintendo, and we've forwarded your feedback.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.
Greg Wallace

I'll take a duplicate game, especially if it comes with an extra M+Controller and other useful goodies.
I have Wii's in 2 different locations and it would be nice to not have to borrow games from my Mom (that I bought for her) to use at my place or to give to friends with Wiis that don't have many games.
How do I determine how many of my coins are going to expire on June 30?As far as I can gather, there is no listed expiration date as the question would have you believe. The only way to know is to look at your history and check how many coins you earned before July 1st, 2009; all of those will expire this year on July 1st.
Club Nintendo just changed the page layout to tell you how many coins you have that will expire on June 30.
Club Nintendo just changed the page layout to tell you how many coins you have that will expire on June 30.
Where does it tell you?
I don't know if I just don't have any that is about to expire or if I just haven't run across the right page yet.
Anyone who needs to spend some coins, let me know. :D
Went over to see if what they say in the Club Nintendo stuff after receiving an e-Mail saying I can transfer my My Nintendo things and to find out they had deleted the account... Worse Loyalty Program ever...I'm pretty sure they gave a substantial amount of time for people to transfer their old accounts over to Club Nintendo. At least Club Nintendo doesn't require you to log into your account every now and then to keep it active; MyCokeRewards will delete all your points if you don't log in every three months.

I'll definitely keep you in mind. There's some stuff I could get, but really there's nothing on Club Nintendo so far that I feel is really worth the coins I'd have to spend.
Then why don't you just buy one off of eBay?
Has anyone tried the Wiimote Controler Holder? If so, is it hard plastic or fabric? How useful is it?

Zach did an unboxing blog about it last year. (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/blog/21151)
Basically, codes are a one-time use thing... So if someone hasn't registered the title already, you're good to go. If they have, you're SOL.
I've bought a few used games, and the codes worked for me too. This makes me wonder how many people have signed up for Club Nintendo, since it would seem pretty easy to find unused codes.
I wasn't sure were else to post this so here goes. In my copy of Link's Crossbow Training I got 2 inserts to register your game with Club Nintendo. I used one but obviously they wouldn't let me use the other since I already registered the game. I don't know which one I used so try both, it's free to anyone. One of these should work. I have no use for a spare code.

Did anyone else get some random coins recently from old games recently? I got 10 coins on May 18 for Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time. I registered this game on My Nintendo back in 2005 before Club Nintendo even existed. No explanation was given for why the points suddenly appeared.
Did this happen to anyone else? Click See Details under your current coin balance on the main page and then expand the section for 2010/2011 history and scroll to the bottom.
Same thing happened to me, HAL. I lost two or three codes because of that same issue. And now that the due date is fast approaching I might be in a crunch to get the coins.
40 bonus coins for linking your 3DS to the 3DS eShop (when available).
https://club.nintendo.com/link-shop-account.do#link-eshop (https://club.nintendo.com/link-shop-account.do#link-eshop)
Too bad I've already downloaded ExciteBike 3D and Pokédex 3D before I linked my account. If I remember rightly, surveys will only appear for games you buy after you link your account to the shop, is that correct?
*sigh*
Well, I was holding out hope that maybe Nintendo would put something more worthwhile on the Club Nintendo Rewards page before my points expired, but it looks like that's not going to happen. Looks like I'll just have to pick something and hope it's not a total piece of junk. Right now, I'm trying to decide between the Hanafuda cards and the DS Bookends. I figure I can use the Bookends to contain my Wii game cases, but Summer Wars kind of made me interested in Hanafuda (at least learning how it works). Hmm...
I have the Bookends and I stacked some Wii games to see how they would fit and I was able to five on one side which means it would be able to hold ten Wii cases. I also recently watched Summer Wars and if I had the points I'd get the Hanafuda cards. At least with them you can play a couple of different games.
For FYE 2009, it took about two weeks for them to announce the prize.Huh, for some reason I remember it being a week or so before. I guess I was mistaken. Oh well, hopefully it will be announced within the next couple of days.
For FYE 2010, it was announced in the early morning of the 1st
For some reason when I log onto the My Nintendo page only half of the screen is visable and I can not scroll to the right of the page. As a result, I can only access half of the page and certain buttons I can not click onto and use. Can anyone help?
Platinum award announced: Exclusive NA version of Xenoblade. :D
I claimed the Gold prize despite being Platinum. Calendar > pins.
Ok...so...for Zelda's 25th anniversary, Club Nintendo gives us...leftovers from Mario's 25th anniversary? And on top of that, it's last years Japan Platinum reward? But that is NoA. If it took effort they wouldn't do it unless forced.

What the ****?
They are starting to lose me as a customer. I didn't spend all that money this year on games just so I could get a freaking hand-me-down.

It was getting codes from eBay. *Shush* Don't Tell.I didn't spend all that money this year on games just so I could get a freaking hand-me-down.
I would hope you spent all that money on... you know.. games?
What makes the pins lamer than last year's figure? This is 25 neat images that you can attach to various pieces of clothing and items versus one thing that you can set on a shelf to collect dust.
I got an extra code for Rhythm Heaven (bought it new at launch, traded it in, then found it again for a tenner at the local Best Buy).
First person to PM me with the common link between Chairman Mao, Bob Dylan, Jeffrey Archer and the Pokemon Spheal (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Spheal) gets it.
(Valid for North America only, and you cannot have registered Rhythm Heaven previously.)
Too bad I've already downloaded ExciteBike 3D and Pokédex 3D before I linked my account.Figured I'd offer a little status update on this. About a week after this, I emailed Nintendo explaining my issues linking my Club Nintendo account to the Wii and 3DS shops. It took about another week for a response, but fortunately it was about what I was expecting. The person said that he registered my two 3DS downloads for me, and that they should show up on my account within seven days. It has also been too much time to do the same for my Wii downloads; I've no idea what the cutoff would be, but it's been longer than 90 days on all of them, which is usually the maximum amount of time for something like this.
...I have not either.
I noticed though that I haven't gotten credit for linking my 3DS to the eShop and I'm going to have to let someone know about it.
Are there anymore things on the 3DS I can get for free and get coins for?Pokedex. You're too late for Excitebike.
You might be able to get 80 for Zelda (50 for registering the game, 10 for post-play survey, 10 for telling Nintendo you intend to buy it, and 10 if you register it within the short post-release window).Does anybody in here update regularly when Intend to buys pop up?
I wonder if the 20 free games will also have surveys. If so, that would also put you over the top.I wouldn't count on it, but it would be nice.
Star Fox 64 3D is currently available under Intend to Buy until September 2nd. I think you know what to put in the comments section of the survey...
"Can't let you do that, Star Fox!" Or some other quote from the game.
i have gotten the statuet, the mii ar card, the messeger bag, the grill of, and game and watch 1
I dont play it that much but it is worth the 15 points or what ever it is really funi have gotten the statuet, the mii ar card, the messeger bag, the grill of, and game and watch 1
I've got the Zelda Posters, two DS cart holders, that Mario DS game case shelf, both red and blue DS pouches, the blue terrycloth towel, the AR card, the statue, Doc Louis's Punch Out!! and I'm waiting for those pins. I'm a Club Nintendo junkie. How is Grill Off with Ultra Hand anyway?
How is Grill Off with Ultra Hand anyway? My thoughts:
I agree with everyone else that Grill off isn't worth the coins. Bad controls and boring gameplay make it one crappy game.Everyone? I said I liked it, so did another person. I didn't have an issue with the controls, though motion controls can be hit or miss with people. It's essentially a Game and Watch game, which some will like and others will find boring. I do think it would have been better served on DSiWare, it would have made a good portable game.
Do you get 10 coins for downloading it?No, it isn't eligible for coins even though it registers to your account.
Are the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Games Eligible for Club Nintendo Coins? Answer:200 free coins. I've already clinched Platinum this year since I've got 380 since July 1 and have 2 10 pt surveys to go.
Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors who link their Nintendo 3DS systems to their Club Nintendo account prior to downloading their games will be eligible to earn Coins for the 20 free games.
In your own words, tell us why you intend to buy The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
"One word: Zelda. More words: what else would I play on the Wii? Xenobla-oh wait."
Has anyone else had an issue where the Intend to Buys for Super Mario 3D Land and Zelda Skyward Sword are not showing up? They are listed under the "Recent News" section but when I go to the Intend to Buy section, it shows the message that nothing is available right now.
I can't find it there even. I had already done SM3L but I don't see any indication that I did either. That's weird.Has anyone else had an issue where the Intend to Buys for Super Mario 3D Land and Zelda Skyward Sword are not showing up? Go to "Earn Coins" and then select the Intend to Buy option. That's where I found Zelda, because I had the same issue you had.
Why did you decide to purchase Kirby's Return to Dream Land? Please tell us in your own words.
Does anyone know if Club Nintendo points are included in the Nintendo Selects titles?Yes, they include registration cards. However, I haven't been able to figure out if they count as a different game from the original release version.
Has anyone received their Club Nintendo Gold or Platinum gifts yet?Absolutely nothing yet.
Well, Nintendo and Sega are in pretty good relations right now. I'm sure their just able to leverage the relationship to get whatever market research value is to be had from the surveys. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some in non-Nintendo published Squenix games.
CN just got a redesign for North America - and a Zelda poster set - AND DOWNLOAD GAMES.
3D Classics Xevious, Mario Kart and Fluidity are on the list, the selection changes monthly. Notice they put download code support in the 3DS update? This is probably why.
It's like if they took the exploration parts of Metroid, made the main character a puddle of water, and made a game out of it.

For me a big part of videogames is acting out a fantasy.I'm glad I'm not limited by that want. Gaming would be a much sadder place.
This explains my general disinterest with downloadable or indie titles. Okay so you take a game mechanic from Metroid, which I love, and make the main character a... puddle? Why would I want to play as a puddle?

So.. your concern is that they took the basic Metroid game play, and, instead of slapping Metroid onto it, they made it an entirely new franchise?
Hm. First time I've heard a complaint that new franchises are bad...
Switching it up monthly is really cool. It'd be nice if you could outright buy points, but this is a nice solution.

Edit: Looks like you waon't be waiting that long. From the Club Nintendo site, in the news column:
12-09-11 New rewards and games available for Coins coming soon. Please stay tuned!
Actually, I do - except for one thing. How come there's no year on the expiration of my "To-Do" list items?I've already sent my complaint to customer support and suggest everybody do the same. Do we need to start Operation Coinfall?
Hey I'll take a free download of Fluidity.
The site's either buggy or it's getting hit super-hard.
Crap, they still haven't fixed their forum character bug.
http://techforums.nintendo.com/message/53961#53961 (http://techforums.nintendo.com/message/53961#53961)Did you ever hear back? I'm curious what kind of answer they would give. I'm thinking of sending an email asking about it, if they haven't responded elsewhere. If I click the link I get the message "Sorry 'techforums.nintendo.com' does not exist or is not available."
It's somewhat unusual to get a direct reply on the Tech forums, so I'm hopeful from the fact that I actually got one...
2) I haven't gotten the coins yet for the Ambassador GBA games... does the new to-do list have a 16-item capacity?I don't have them either, and I haven't really heard of anyone who does. They're either not out yet, or Nintendo decided to not give them out for this batch.

Aren't the expiration dates for new games a lot sooner? Like, less than a year? If so, seeing the year isn't important for those, but it does screw things up for people stockpiling older surveys, a practice I'm sure Nintendo doesn't want to encourage.
Once again, UncleBob, I'd like to thank you for letting me feel like I make sane, reasonable decisions when it comes to Nintendo purchases by using you as a comparison.
Almost have enough for Ball. Does anyone here have it? Is it worth it? Should I just save my Coins for future downloadable games? If you're interested in Nintendo's history or want a complete set of their handhelds, then yes, it's worth it. It's an excellent recreation of a Game and Watch, so if you want a Game and Watch, go for it. If you just want fun games to play, it isn't worth it, especially with how many download games 1,200 coins can get you.
As I pointed out in TalkBack, pretty much the entire game of Dr. Mario Express is unlockable in WarioWare if you have the Ambassador games, without taking up precious space in the internal memory.
The 3DS Dr. Mario costs fewer coins than the Wii version! :P:You misread, the 3DS Dr. Mario (it's actually DSiWare) costs more coins than the Wii version. And the Wii version actually costs twice as many points as the DSiWare version, so the Wii version would be a better value to get. It has a 2-4 player co-op mode that can actually be pretty fun.
Ooh, just noticed they've rotated their downloadable games. Dr. Mario Online Rx and Majora's Mask for Wii, Kirby's Dreamland and Dr. Mario Express for 3DS.

I have heard all about the "snaking" in Mario Kart DS but have no clue what exactly it is or how to do it. Can someone please explain? Sorry for the thread-jack
It's simple. Hold R to drift, then quickly switch between hitting left and right to build up your boost. Once it's red, release to boost. Repeat throughout the course. It's easiest on turns, but on straightaways boost one direction, then the other.
Man, I regret not owning Mario Party 2, definitely my fave, and Art Academy has always tempted me... Oh geez, I can't believe I'm considering using my points on non-physical goods...
holds 18 games (so JP, get two)
Two new games have been added as rewards for Club Nintendo:
Mario Party 2 (Wii) for 150 coins
Art Academy: First Semester (3DS) for 150 coins
Sold unclebob! Pm me!Both of my cases showed up today! Quick service, Club Nintendo!
Does anyone know how good those tote or messenger bags are? Or can link to a review showing size/sturdiness?
If I get to the Case do I have to show a picture with Ouenden in one form or another in it. Thats the only way I've seen user pictures of it.
I don't even do intend-to-buys anymore because I won't be registering the game in time to get the bonus. How long do you have to register to get the bonus? It used to be five years, but I don't know if they shortened it after the redesign. I have one for Mario Party 9 that says March 11, so it's good for at least one year.
What do people think of the new games available to buy from Club Nintendo? Excitebike has never been my thing (could be said about racing games in general) so that's an easy pass. You, Me, and the Cubes looks really interesting and was on my "want to try" list, so this is the perfect time to grab it. I don't have any space for additional DSi games on my 3DS, so Metal Torrent also gets a pass by default.
Hey guys. Check me out, I won one of the exclusive Mario themed 3DS's. Should arrived late May appaerntly. Woohoo!
Because he was originally both left and right handed.I pondered if this was perhaps a trick question, because of the sprite-mirroring of the 2D games. However, technical limitations and manual goofs aside, Link was officially left-handed, so I ultimately chose that answer.
And, although, I don't recall if this is /official/ or fanon, but I do recall the idea that Link would always stand with his shield facing Death Mountain, this the "story" behind the sprite flipping.
Last day to register you Ambassador Games.Aw kwap
Every time I go to the Club Nintendo page and the 3DS card case isn't available, I die a little inside.
Well, with all the sad changes to Club Nintendo surveys, I'm thrilled to report there's been a new change that, while very minor, is awesomely helpful.
Surveys in your To-Do List are now in order of when they expire! Knowing this, you should be able to come up with a pretty decent estimate of what year they expire. Worst case, you know what order to do them in.
...
Whew, just read this entire thread while bored XD
Did I see something about software downloaded before linking the account with your console not counting? Because that kinda sucks and seems to work against the way they present it in their FAQs.
[...]
To return to my original point, I downloaded PokéDex 3D, SwapNote, Four Swords, and Nintendo Video before linking (or even creating) my account. Were any of those worth coins that are lost to me? Can I get them be re-downloading the games? Will I have to restart Four Swords or my PokéDex?
[...] Club Nintendo and 3DS username MisterE13. I have not purchased any DSiWare or 3DS exclusive software. As a result, I was not aware that I may have missed the opportunity to earn Club Nintendo coins by owning and completing surveys coins for the software that I have downloaded for free. While completing other surveys, I noticed information about coins available for those who downloaded Nintendo Video. The option to fill out a survey for that software was never available to me on Club Nintendo, nor were any coins awarded to me for downloading it or any other software. This has caused me to question whether I've missed this opportunity, and perhaps others, to let my voice be heard and help improve the Nintendo games of the future. Of note, I have also downloaded The Legend of Zelda Four Swords-Anniversary Edition, Pokédex 3D, and SwapNote, as well as all the e-Shop demos (though I doubt the demos are applicable for surveys).
I would be very grateful for any help you could provide with retrieving any surveys/coins which are due to me (if such a thing would even be possible). I would be able to provide receipt numbers upon request for anything that would be of use.
Thank you in advance
Thanks for contacting us. Using the information you provided, I was able to locate your Club Nintendo account and add all of the apps and games that are eligible to be added to your list of registered products. You will see the updated data when you log in to your Club Nintendo account.
Please note that eligible applications or Virtual Console games will generate only a Post-Play Survey, which will appear on your To-Do list seven days after the game is registered. When registering the Netflix application, a Product Registration Survey will appear right away. Post Play Surveys expire 120 days after the game's original registration. Product Registration surveys expire seven days after the registration date. Please review the date listed next to the survey in your To-Do list to ensure that you take the survey before it expires.

Well, I logged into my account and did a bunch of registrations and surveys. More to do but I actually hit gold status this year. Might fall short of Platinum by a bit.
Got a lot of expiring coins. Might get the messenger bag or one of the Game & Watch items. 510 expiring out of about 1200 total.

I might have a couple extra 3DS codes if you're really that close to Platinum Stratos. Be a shame to miss it by something as small as 30 or 40 points.

Well, shucks, I would appreciate that a lot. By my calculations I will be 10 points short for platinum. Though I also noticed that my Wii is no longer connected to the Club for some reason (might net me a lot more coins from WiiWare games). Give me a week to straighten that out and clear out the rest of my surveys to make sure my math was right and I'll hit you up for one.
If not Startos, then is anyone out there just like 30-40 coins away from Platinum and want to see if my spare 3DS game codes for Pilot Wings Resort, Steel Diver, or Mario 3D Land, or maybe some other games, can help them out?
I think the best case scenario for the Platinum reward is either that golden nunchuk other regions got or a real life Non-Specific Action Figure.I don't know if I want to be sent a Man in Tights. What would my Wife think?

So in wanting to get my DK '94 back, I somehow managed to go double Platinum this year (1240 coins).
I just wanna see if I can beat UncleBob to Platinum next year. If that involves staying up until 4am local time, so be it.
2 new Club Nintendo game rewards for July:
Mario Tennis (Wii Virtual Console - N64) - 150 Coins
*expires July 22nd*
Electroplankton Rec-Rec (3DS) - 100 Coins
*expires July 15th*
Hmm...I'm not usually interested in the Mario Sports games, but I'm kind of tempted to pick up Mario Tennis.

Darn it. I'm already 230 coins towards Platinum just be registering two games and doing a TON of old surveys. And I've got 17 more surveys waiting there for me to do them still. That means I'm about 400 coins IN this year already WITHOUT registering a whole bunch of other games I have, and WITHOUT counting for any games I'm still going to buy this year OR the plethora of coins my Wii U purchases are sure to bring in... I need to figure out a system so I can organize which of my games I'm holding off registering until the next club Nintendo year. My resolution is to no longer push surveys until later. I intend to do surveys the moment they become available from now on.
It is a great game with a fun twist to the TD formula. I've had it for a long while and recently returned to it. This time I may beat the game. Certainly am getting a lot more perfects.

Any tips for getting a No-SOS Perfect on level 8? The last wave always has one stealthed enemy slip by me with a sliver of health. :@
Tips, or the solution?
Tips: Lots of Gatlings during the level and Mines in the final round.
Solution:
Items - Suggest Speed Ups on mines and Graviguns when possible. Power Ups when using a random item. Power your Ghost Lasers first.
Wave 1: Plug two Ghost lasers on the middle of each side.
Wave 2: Buy the 1st eBoost, buy a Gatling on the right side somewhere.
Wave 3: Buy the 2nd eBoost.
Wave 4: Gatling on the left side.
Wave 5: Gatling on left and right sides.
Wave 6: Buy Gravigun - put on right side. Power up ASAP.
Wave 7: Gravigun on left side, Gatlings on both top slots.
Wave 8: Nothing.
Wave 9: Destroy the Gatlings on the top two slots. Buy Mines, put two mines on top.
Wave 10: Nothing.
Hey guys I made Gold status, Which reward is really worth it? I'm a lil tired of calendars. Majora's Mask looks appealing, even though I own the original for N64, Super Mario Kart doesn't really interest me. Metroid II looks interesting, never played it, as I never owned a Gameboy. So I'm at a crossroad of Majora's Mask vs. Meteroid II.
Metroid II being $4 vaule while MM being $10.
Also, I have 2 Wii's, one of which I gave to my Best Friend, who I live with, I have several VC and Wii games on it.
What I want to know, will those be transferable to the Wii U? Both Wii's are tied to My club nintendo account, so if I get MM for my wii, will it be transferable? Not sure how it works when one own's multiple wii's with DL titles.
Seriously now, MM vs. Metroid II? Got till Aug. 6th
Appreciate any help guys.

Well, for one thing, it does look like Nintendo will offer an option to transfer Wii virtual console purchases to the Wii U (http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/05/e3-2012-old-wii-downloads-will-transfer-to-wii-u). I'm doubtful that they'd let you transfer titles from two separate Wiis though (just based on my experience with the 3DS-to-3DS transfer tool.
You own the original Majora's Mask? Unless you want a backup or have concerns of too many consoles attached to your television, I suggest you get Metroid II.
Seriously now, MM vs. Metroid II? Got till Aug. 6th
All the options are 'meh' for me. I own all of those VC games and the non-game items are even more 'meh'.
Got a few more days to decide, I may go with the playing cards. Unless someone really wants one of the platinum items and will pay me for it. PM me if you are interested.
It's actually a *bit* good to hear that some rewards cycle, since I missed out on Dr. Mario xPress.
Must... enter... more surveys... get enough coins for a... second golden nunchuk!!!!How much do you want for the second one? :P
Edit: I registered Pokepark Wii and XenoBlade. That put me over the top and I ordered TWO of these babies. You are now all allowed to hate my guts.

Man, the Super Power Catalog had far better stuff than Club Nintendo has ever had.BTW, I think that we should get Club Nintendo points for subscribing to Nintendo Power...
If Nintendo still ran NP, I'd bet we would.
As it is, I'll pass the idea on to an editor that follows me on the Twitters and see if that gets us anywhere.

GOD yes. I got a lot of stuff from that catalogue back in the day. Where IS all that stuff? It's in a warehouse somewhere. Sell it on Club Nintendo!
Wait...wait...wait...seriously? Would you please explain how you think one Nintendo coin is worth $1? Any reward program usually equates to about 1 penny for each point. I... I... if you think about each Club Nintendo coin as the equivalent of 1 dollar spending, I spent $900 for that golden nunchuk... @_@ I'm having a hard time thinking of a good reason for me to part with it, sorry...

Never said I'd find it for $9. I was just stating that the basic point to currency ratio for most rewards systems is about 1 cent per point. You usually get 1 point per dollar spent and most rewards come out to 1 penny per point (ie a $50 gift card for some place usually costs around 5000 points). I don't know how Nintendo values their points, though a digital game reward where the game sells for around $5 and you only spend 150 points. By Kairon's logic, he'd be spending $150 for a $5 game. It does not add up.Wait...wait...wait...seriously? Would you please explain how you think one Nintendo coin is worth $1? Any reward program usually equates to about 1 penny for each point. What reward programs are you in? Protip: programs that give you a point per penny aren't selling cool stuff at 900 points.
Club Nintendo points are somewhere in the middle. You can definitely get better rates than a dollar per point, but the opportunity for points is limited by the number of games released and pricing isn't consistent.
There is no way you'll be grabbing one of these nunchucks for $9 without moderate effort (searching for deals and then reselling) or tremendous luck (someone selling stupid low after the fact). The normal nunchuck still goes for considerably more than that price, and isn't a limited item.
...
You usually get 1 point per dollar spent
I know, I wasn't expecting you to sell it, hence the smiley. :)You usually get 1 point per dollar spent
That's what I meant. It's not that my 900 points were worth $900, but I had to spend $900 to get them in the first place. It's hard for me to look at that number and contemplate disposing of my "reward" because it's gonna take ages for me to build up another 900 points, regardless of what those points are worth monetarily to Nintendo.
But that's just me personally, and as you can see on EBay, other people have no such problem putting this 900 point reward up for sale.
How is my math flawed? I stated mine was based on 1 cent per coin. With 900 coins, that is $9. Where is that flawed?...
Your math is still all over the place. Club Nintendo coins don't have the same value as other programs - you admit so directly - so trying to make that comparison is pointless. Club Nintendo tries to give roughly 1 coin per dollar spent when registering new games, although surveys and special offers and sale pricing all affect that ratio.
My complaint is where you state that Kairon "spent $9 on the thing" which is obviously not true on multiple levels.
Gah... This thread got me browsing EBay again... I tell you, I must have some genetic predisposition to shopping addiction because it's hard to resist the urge to grab a THIRD golden nunchuk even at $75!Hey, to you they are worth $900 so $75 is a super steal. :P
... no. NO. I have to save. Save up... for the Wii U.
If you're paying $1/ point, you're doing it wrong. :DI agree. I got 3-4 games that gave me 40-50 points each for only $5 each.
It would appear that you don't get Club Nintendo points for buying games on sale. I bought SML2 when it was on sale and it didn't show up in my Club Nintendo queue. Odd...
With the hanafuda cards gone
I laced the yellow set on my Doc Martins because they originally came with yellow laces( (they are burgundy red). They look great, I can post pics if anyone wants.
I also spontaneously downloaded New Super Mario Bros 2 and scored 100 coins.
I also spontaneously downloaded New Super Mario Bros 2 and scored 100 coins.
Urgh! I know it's tempting but isn't this us letting Nintendo win? I mean, I love them and all but... think how much more of our money they'll take if they start pushing hard for impulse purchases like these of games we may or may not want! I have cats to feed!
Anyone interested in a Metroid Prime Trilogy code?Used it. Thanks!
XRM-3AVT-HU8F-WSX
I don't understand. The full game for download?!
(At least Kirby should be... mixed reports on that one).
If anyone's going to get Super Smash Brothers, make sure you have a GameCube controller. The layout on the Classic Controller is pretty much the exact opposite of the N64 controller, and it'd take some real getting used to. But the GameCube controller is basically like SSBMelee, with the obvious exception of the C-stick not doing smashes or controlling the camera. The game also runs faster and smoother than the N64 version, which is nice, though strangely, the load times are slightly longer.
They're finally sending out invites for the Bay Area! FINALLY!
WTF, I didn't get an invite and I've gotten platinum every year (and more than double last year). They're finally sending out invites for the Bay Area! FINALLY!
Apparently. I (and presumably every other CN member around here) have three extra invites. Just checking to see if anyone needs them.
Didn't get one, but didn't have one close enough. Also, Nintendo hates me.I think Nintendo loves you more than anyone they way you buy multiple copies of games as well as multiple consoles.
I don't know if I got one. Even if I did...look where I live.
So, I bought the Kirby: Epic Yarn badges when they went on sale recently... Came in the mail and had these included.
New reward at Club Nintendo:
Pilotwings (Wii Virtual Console, originally SNES)
100 coins
Available until Oct 28
Tempting reward. I didn't play Pilotwings back in the day and have no nostalgia, but am curious to try and see if it holds up to today's gaming standards. Price is reasonable too. Then again... Pilotwings 3D is pretty cheap and available, and certainly looks prettier.
I got my code for Donkey Kong: Original Edition for the 3DS today - check your e-mails. :DI thought you had an aversion to digital games. Did you make an exception for this case?
Wii U launch titles are up for Intend to Buy.
Nintendo Land
New Super Mario Brothers U
Ninja Gaiden 3
SiNG Party
Would anyone be interested in buying me a download code for the 3DS version of Urban Champion for $5.50 via PayPal? Don't do it yet.... but let me know. :)
Can you "Intend to Buy" Nintendo Land with the Deluxe Set? Does anyone know if you still get a PIN for it?I've had the same question, and I haven't found an answer out there yet.
$5 + tax.
I need the code. Found someone willing to trade a Dinosaur Office Remix download code for it.
New Game:
Super Punch-Out!! (SNES, Wii Virtual Console), 150 points
Great game, and a pretty good deal if you ask me. Maybe you are better off just getting the Wii version instead?
I bought the game but I didn't register it yet, do you have to have already registered it to be eligible?
Attention anyone who registered Kid Icarus: Uprising - there's a sweepstakes on Club Nintendo that is giving away 10 full sets of AR cards. That's 400+ cards.
I got the platinum reward playing cards in the mail today. They're surprisingly cheap and flimsy for "platinum" playing cards...on the other hand my gold nunchuk should coming soon too!
Gold Nunchuck isn't coming back until January, to be fair.
Yeah but I don't own a 3ds and I'm 150 coins away from 900.
Has anyone had ANY luck actually submitting a survey in the last week or so? Every time I try to submit one, it fails to submit and the system just acts like I never tried.

Yeah but I don't own a 3ds and I'm 150 coins away from 900.
Sounds like you can solve two problems at once if you're desperate enough.
Well that's nice. It would appear my Nintendo Land registration survey ALREADY EXPIRED. There's 50 coins I won't be getting. There's a 50 coin WiiU post-play survey. I figured this was the replacement for the fact that you can not register the version of Nintendoland that came with the deluxe system.
Nintendo announced on Facebook that the 3DS game case is back:
https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/24002.do (https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/24002.do)
I think it was an error, because the link works for me and is shown as available.
Apparently the 3DS cartridge case is only going to be back in stock on the 19th. Well worth it if you've got the coins available - makes me wish I had save some coins so that I could grab an extra.
Worth noting that Nintendo has also added a handful of excellent games to download. Metroid 2, Mario Party 2, and 3D Classics Twinbee are all worth playing. 150 coins per game if you are interested.
Mario Party 2 is fantastic. We busted out the VC version recently and had a great 4-player game that was a lot of fun. If you think you'll have the opportunity to play it with enough people, it's a steal at that price.
...
From what I've played of Metroid 2 and Mario Party 2, I think the phrase "all worth playing" is stretching things just a tad.
...
Only the first one destroyed controllers, and Nintendo wisely decided not to release that one on the Virtual Console. It really only destroyed analogue sticks from the stick-spinning minigames, and the only reason it did that is because of the design of the N64 sticks. The game wouldn't destroy modern analogue sticks.
Unfortunately hands haven't evolved as well as analogue sticks and I'm guessing the game would still tear up the palms of players pretty good. Gotta admit, those are some good memories of playing that game, though. Painful, but good.Only the first one destroyed controllers, and Nintendo wisely decided not to release that one on the Virtual Console. It really only destroyed analogue sticks from the stick-spinning minigames, and the only reason it did that is because of the design of the N64 sticks. The biggest game case they have ever given is the 9 slot case right? Are there any bigger an better quality cases in stores?
If you want them you can seriously have them. I don't want them, but like a dummy I just can't bare to throw them out. You do know I'm referring to the 3ds cases that come with the games right? As long Nintendo club codes are in there and intact, sure.
The biggest game case they have ever given is the 9 slot case right? Are there any bigger an better quality cases in stores?
Now that the 18 case is gone... Hori makes a 3DS game case (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-3DS-Game-Card-Case-24/dp/B004K6LQAS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359683819&sr=8-2&keywords=hori+3ds+case) that holds 24 games.
I heard in passing that Birds and Beans is in a WarioWare game, what's the story behind this?
2 - I just realized I don't remember entering any code or doing anything with my launch delux wii for the downloadable deal. Is it automatic or did I have to enter something myself, like what Mop It Up is talking about?

Your best bet is probably to look for the email notification that gets sent (although maybe it's different for the $30 credit than for other digital codes).I forgot to respond to this before, but there wasn't an email notification either. As I was looking through my emails, I noticed that I haven't received a confirmation from Club Nintendo since the choice for last year's platinum reward, which was back in July 2012. So it looks like that's been messed up for a while. No idea how to fix this issue either.
Apparently one of the rewards on Japanese Club Nintendo is downloadable version of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (http://club.nintendo.jp/rank2013/famicomwars/index.html).
First time full retail DS title was made available on 3DS eShop.
I might by Dillon for 200 coins.
I might be interested in Zelda if it were for Wii U, but I'm not going to get any more Wii downloads from these.I feel the same way though I never downloaded any Wii games.
I've got nothing better to do with my coins, so I'm gonna grab LttP so I can eventually get the cheap upgrade. I'll pick up Cubello once I get 3D World and Link Between Worlds in.Same here although I may go for rolling western instead...
Majora's Mask soundtrack arrived on Christmas Eve. Timing well played, Nintendo.
Intend-to-purchase surveys for Mario Kart 8 are up. eShop and physical versions. Still undecided on which version I want to get.
Why not? Is it a poor port? Or are you not a fan of the series? Or is it relatively cheap on the eShop?
Technically, it is a good and faithful port. The offscreen play is a welcomed addition. I personally believe that if we knew they be releasing it later on the 3DS I wait for that port. Why not? Is it a poor port? Or are you not a fan of the series? Or is it relatively cheap on the eShop?
As I recall, he played that game when the Random Number God was quite mad at him (http://nintendofreeradio.podbean.com/e/nintendo-free-radio-28-the-matter-of-shook-v-random-number-god/) for some reason.
Congratulations!
You’ve qualified for a special demo of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS game. There’s no limit on play sessions, and it’s available now—a whole week before the public demo.
We’re sending this demo to Club Nintendo members like you who achieved Platinum Status between 7/1/2013 and 6/30/2014, registered any Nintendo 3DS product, and chose to receive information from Nintendo at Club Nintendo. Hurry—all codes for this special demo must be redeemed by Sept. 19. Enjoy!

It appears you need to have reached Platinum last year, plus registered any 3DS product, plus opted in to email notifications.
I only registered my 3DS this week so it looks like I won't be getting a code.

Do you accept insects and fish like many other fine retailers?
Also, Smash Bros 3DS and Hyrule Warriors are both up for intent-to-purchase surveys on Club Nintendo. Both physical and digital versions for each title have surveys available.Funny. I completed these surveys but they are not showing up on my list. Anyone else having this issue?
I need to write a script to take the surveys for me.Here's one for you:
I will support the development of this script so long as it answers "Extremely dissatisfied" when asked the "How satisfied are you with Virtual Console?" question.

So you're saying I shouldn't pay this guy $800 for one?
I'll sell my bonus survey for $100.I'll sell my survey for $99. Who really wants to spend $100? That's for suckers who don't know the meaning for true value.
Another World is 50% off (3.99) right now and is by most accounts a pretty decent game, and the only good thing on sale on the eShop right now.
I wasn't sure where to post this, but I had no idea Nintendo’s online store sold “refurbished” games along with their controllers and systems. Has anyone bought them before? They have sold refurb systems and controllers for at least a year now, maybe longer, but the games are new-ish, maybe started a month or two ago. I bought a refurb Wiimote and Nunchuk when they were on sale, and it was in almost new condition. There were a couple of light scuffs from wear, but, they were clean and the buttons and such all felt like new.
“We thank all Club Nintendo members for their dedication to Nintendo games and their ongoing love for our systems and characters,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We want to make this time of transition as easy as possible for our loyal Club Nintendo members, so we are going to add dozens of new rewards and downloadable games to help members clear out their Coin balances.”
Nintendo will add a number of physical reward options for members in February. Members will also be able to choose from a lineup of many downloadable games. As a gift to Club Nintendo members, the Flipnote Studio 3D software will be available to download for free in February. This software will allow users to create unique three-dimensional animations and to exchange their creations via local wireless with others who also own Flipnote Studio 3D. Users who uploaded creations to Flipnote Hatena will be able to download their personal animations from the Nintendo DSi Library menu in Flipnote Studio 3D software. Flipnote Studio 3D will be available to Club Nintendo members until June 30. The ability to create a new Club Nintendo account will end on March 31. All users who register to Club Nintendo before registration closes will be eligible to receive Flipnote Studio 3D.

Thanks a lot Khush, you ruin everything!
so who want to help me get to Platinum now?
I have not bought a single game since MK8, gaming has slipped out of my budget for time time being.
So here's the deal, Nintendo says that Elite Status members for 2015 will be able to choose from a "wide variety of 3DS and Wii U games". Are those games going to be the same games that were just announced. Could I get W101 for free as a Platinum(ha!) member instead of spending the 600 coins?
I'm still figuring out what I want to do with the remaining 775 coins I'll have after that.
Source? No, that is my feeble wish for the rewards.
Source? No, that is my feeble wish for the rewards.
We probably will receive digital titles only because of how easy it is. But who knows, we weren't expecting actual good physical goodies either :P: :
That's all assuming that Nintendo feeds the wheel-spinning hamsters that run Club Nintendo. Right now, Club Nintendo's dying as it lived: with the site continuously down.
I'm still figuring out what I want to do with the remaining 775 coins I'll have after that.
Get 800 coins, order me the Majora's Mask bag, then get a $20 eShop card from me? :D
These are selling for $100 on eBay so you'll have to pony up more dough.I'm still figuring out what I want to do with the remaining 775 coins I'll have after that.
Get 800 coins, order me the Majora's Mask bag, then get a $20 eShop card from me? :D
I am willing to do the same. Offering $20 for a Majora Messenger bag. I'm short 300 coins.
I had heard about it secondhand and was just posting it as a joke, but I just now checked out of curiosity and there were 8 actually sold listings for the bag. The lowest was $85 and the highest was $125.
I'm sure the price will come down once people realise these are being made to order and there will be a lot of them floating around.
They did. Hopefully they include options apart from what they currently have on sale for coins, since I already owned everything worth owning there
Hmmm... Gold and Platinum amiibo prizes leaked (http://www.vg247.com/2015/02/04/super-mario-amiibo-gold-silver/)?
Now that would be a way to go out with a bang!
Flipnote Studio 3D release has been delayed because reasons.Probably has to do with the site getting hit hard because of everyone going crazy to redeem their stuff.
The only way those amiibos would be a Club Nintendo prize is if they decided to give something to members who reached platinum all seven years.I'd be okay with something like that, although I'm sure that's not what the distribution plan for these is.
What's the expiration for FlipNote? I'm still waiting for the site to work better before I try to redeem stuff.
mine said June, but I have yet to redeem it.
I posted this over in the CN thread, but it seemed like it might be useful here.

Hey, I just bought Hyrule Warriors. I didn't see my Club Nintendo code! Is it because it's past the 1/20 date or do I need to file a complaint with Amazon.
60 coins are on the line here!
I'm thinking of biting the bullet and picking up the VC titles that have interested me on Club Nintendo. The physical rewards do very little for me outside of the Smash Posters and maybe the Zelda XL case, but both are things I would never really display. On the other hand, everything in the VC/eShop section is stuff I would willingly pay for if they qualified for the next rewards program, so I'm very torn...

Did you check on the reverse side of the cover art? That's where the latest codes were being put.
I have a code for Ocarina of Time 3D (I think) that might still work. I bought the game twice cuz the first got stolen along with a 3DS :-( . I had already registered the first code and I don't think CN let's you register a retail game twice (digital and retail versions seem to be OK to register twice).
Anyway here's the code, good luck:
Q4Y-KS5R-J6DY-MNR
Nintendo have stopped printing codes for new runs of current games. Hyrule Warriors isn't the only game people have reported not receiving codes, others like Captain Toad and Smash Bros. have been spotted blank.
You can try contacting Nintendo through email or a phone call and see if they'll give you a PIN for the game (might need some proof of purchase), who knows, maybe they'll give you one.
Anyone else get a shipping notice for their Smash Bros. CD soundtrack?

I'm 5 coins shy of getting to Gold status. Too funny.

I lucked out! Forgot my wife got Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright. I'm now over! now just need to figure out what to spend my 580 coins on. My only concern now is i'll spend all my coins on games that'll end up being the gold tier rewards anyway...

Easy answer: don't spend your coins until the Gold prizes are revealed.
You have weeks after the prizes are revealed to spend coins, so don't be in a rush. :)
...
Didn't know that, thanks! Makes it a lot easier to avoid duplication.
edit2: turns out the code is on the reverse side of the outside label paper....
since when did they start putting it there?
Is anyone 40 coins away from gold/platinum status, or 40 coins away from another reward? I've got an extra code for Pokémon Black 2 if someone's in need.

Nintendo needs to extend for 48hrs to apologize for not having enough server power to support more than 25 people accessing the site simultaneously.

Meh. We all knew it was ending tonight. There was no real reason to wait until the last minute to register stuff. :(
or aggravate my quiescent Lindeman Syndrome.
I have like 15 more codes to identify and I'm honestly tired of trying...I could use just one code.
who needs codes?

this **** is frustrating.
Boooooo @ Nintendo for once again being behind the technological curve and cheaping out on servers to handle web traffic.
It's just really bizarre how much Wii U-only owners got shafted here: you have a choice between DKC Banana Slamma or a bunch of 4+ year old Wii games. Because I already own all those, my only choices are a bunch of mediocre games for a handheld I never play.
I'd be curious to know how many Wii U-only owners there are and how many of them achieved Elite status this year.

To be fair, why would they put money into something that they're about to kill off?
Seriously, what else? Another year of Game & Wario and Wii Party U? W101 was already in the initial reward list, and none of the top selling games are going to be made available. Neither were the games released during this Club Nintendo year. Realistically it was going to be DKC and all the Nintendo published eShop games.
Isn't Wii Sports Club already redeemable? There's a whole list of games that aren't platinum and gold member rewards that can be redeemed for coins and Wii Sports Club is one of those titles along with Game and Wario and others. Is the website wrong or is just that people don't have their coins to redeem the games with anymore?
**** you, Nintendo of America.

That's pretty sweet, hope someone rips it & uploads it to the internets.
One thing I've never understood is if Nintendo goes through the trouble of making these CDs....why not just release them on itunes after a certain amount of time has passed? I'd pay cash for this.
Forget iTunes - release them through the eShop. Download them to your NEW 3DS and sync it wirelessly to your PC. Download it to your WiiU's SD slot and pop that into your PC.
Sure, iTunes would be easier - but Nintendo won't want to give Apple a cutof the pie. This is a typical Nintendoesque back-assward way of doing things that it's crazy enough to work.
I imagine it costs Nintendo a lot more money to ship physical goods in NA than it does in Japan.
...
Friendly reminder, you have until tomorrow to redeem your Gold and Platinum rewards...I got Mario Party Island Tour since I owned every other title. To complain would seem peevish, wouldn't it?
Just got Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.I call dibs if you did.
Although I had to rack my brain to remember whether I bought it or not. Hopefully I didn't.
