Daredevil is getting some HYPE inducing reviews right now.

Quote from: screencrush
http://screencrush.com/netflix-daredevil-review/?trackback=tsmclip
Daredevil was well-worth the wait, and breaks the Marvel movie mold with bone-crunching delight. It’s everything Nolan’s Batman never had time to explore, everything Arrow wants to be without network boundaries, and exactly the street-level drama Marvel needs to complete its superhero world.

Quote from: MTV
The stunts are just incredible
- No CGI here, folks: not only are all the fight sequences performed by actual humans, but they’re also filmed beautifully and often in agonizingly intense tracking shots. If the rest of the series is as riveting as these first few episodes, you’re going to be on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Quote from: cinemablend
http://www.cinemablend.com/television/Daredevil-Review-Marvel-Goes-Dark-Wins-Big-Way-71043.html
There naturally looms the possibility that something could go horribly wrong quality-wise in the final eight episodes of Daredevil’s first season, but the first five lay down such an epically gripping and shocking foundation that it’s truly hard to imagine things taking a negative turn. It’s smart, entertaining, and has moments so shocking that you’ll have to repress screams. Suffice it to say, Marvel and Netflix have another big winner on their respective plates

Quote from: gazette
http://gazette.com/tv-review-marvels-daredevil-a-perfect-balance-of-action-and-drama/article/1548879
Grade: (A–): Netflix only provided me access to the first five episodes of “Daredevil.” After plowing through them in one sitting, I was ready for more. I’m looking forward to seeing where this fun series, which nicely balances drama and action, goes from here. If you’re a Netflix subscriber and a Marvel fan, you’ll certainly get a kick out of this new franchise.

Next Friday....

I'm liking the looks of Daredevil. This may be everything I hoped Arrow would be since I've lost interest in that show.

The reviews have me sold on it, and I'm not a fan of DD, nor did I like the movie.
But!, I am an MCU junkie, so I was going to watch it regardless.

But!!, I also wasn't so hyped about Agent Carter, even after watching it, so it's not like I am totally biased on everything MCU. Although I wouldnt' mind a S2. not gonna be sad if it doesn't happen though.

I do want a S2 of Agent Carter because i quite like the period art style, dressing and scenery (especially against how "bland" AOS is in comparison). Plus Hayley Atwell never gets dull in 40s garb.

Not sure how I feel about this one...

http://mcuexchange.com/marvel-animation-considering-mcu-tie-ins/

If this is how we get the Hawkguy story, or the characters that never get screen time story (AoS Inhumans backstory) or just the characters that Marvel will never have time to bring to the screen, then maybe. Possibly including them as "movie-shorts" before films?

Maybe Marvel Animation should retell the MCU to date, in chronological order, through long form episodic format?

I'm not sure, their recent efforts haven't been very good. I really liked EMH (till they attempted to rush the ending), but haven't watched Avengers Assemble, or HULK Agents of SMASH or whatever. and their anime stuff is.... what it is (nothing worth recommending.... unless you are specifically into anime).

I'd rather they just make better animated efforts since I hear most of what is currently being made is sub-par, including the DTV movies.

Animated tie-ins could be good.  Let's you grow franchises without having big budget live action features and fill in time to keep interest up between big features.  It would essentially turn the whole thing into a comic book structure.  Where TV gives you the day-to-day for each hero and individual storylines whereas the films might be more like "events" in the comics space.

If they are going to get quality animation, I think Animation is a great way to tell stories about what is happening and fill in the holes.  Animation is much cheaper than television.

Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. is a fun pulpy tour of Marvel characters.

It's almost like Ultimate Spider-Man. If they're gonna do animated, then (in my opinion) they should do a cel-shaded CGI show like Iron Man Armored Adventures.

I'm okay with animated MCU tie-ins, so long as they remain "B-Canon", so to speak.  Nothing in them required viewing (although I'd try to watch 'em anyway) and nothing in them is set in stone to the point where the main-stream MCU finds themselves writing around it.

Star Wars is doing the same thing. Honestly I'd rather all their animation projects exist in their Marvel Animated Universe.

If they want to tell more stories I wouldn't mind more one shots or live action tv series.

I think they need to do more limited event series.

Netflix seems like a perfect place to do a 2 or 3 season series.  Tell some basic stories and get the mythos on screen and then move to another character before it gets old or you put too much out there it gets over saturated.

Crap, forgot about DD. Must start watching now (soon).

Edit - I just went to Netflix to see if there would be any streaming issues, and there are not. Then again, I don't have FiOS and Bright House doesn't slow down Netflix (yet).

[Avengers: Age of Ultron]

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-avengers-age-ultron-787498?utm_source=twitter
Quote
Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron came on tracking huge Thursday, pacing ahead of Avengers in nearly all categories.

That suggests the sequel, opening May 1, will eclipse the $207.4 million debut of Avengers in May 2012 to score the top North American opening of all time. Even if it hits $200 million, the movie will be a huge victory for Marvel Studios and Disney.

Online ticketing service Fandango reports that advance ticket sales are significantly ahead of Avengers at the same point in time.

So. Daredevil:

I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot. Signed up.

It definitely suffered from my pathetic internet speed. It frequently dropped to quite a low resolution and occasionally did have to buffer. Watched another episode this morning before work (on the computer this time) and it was flawless.

Anyway, the show: Very enjoyable. the gory bits (don't need to go into details about those) were thankfully few and far between. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Just finished episode 5 thus far. And I am certainly hooked on watching more. It will be a long day at work for me today.
