Kairon, it seems complex when all the rules are just sitting there in front of you before a game starts... but once you get into it and start playing, it starts making sense pretty quickly.

It's kind of like reading all the controls for a complex game like Splinter Cell or something and trying to memorize them before you even play the game. You just gotta get in there and play, man!

For example, you end up being a townie (biggest probability of this happening). What do you have to worry about? Basically, trying to analyze other peoples' votes/behavior, looking for patterns, and trying to team up with other townies. Pretty simple. It's hard when you try to analyze every single move any possible role could possibly make before a game starts. But when you've just got one role to worry about (your own), it becomes much easier.

That's really only a twelve hour day, which sucks for some people who don't live in the same country as we do (like Athrun). Any chance you could do something like end it at midnight and then start another one immdiately (like how the days start and end in real life

Kairon we've discuss this before. If you post on this forum. Then your not a nongamer so ergo since we have a established that you are indeed a gamer and that was your barrier for entry; You must now be playing in the mafia game... Right? Stop trying to fit into Iwata's Brave New Market. Be who you are. Yeah the game is complex. Shoot I'm a terrible player. I talk to much and don't just sit there and stare. I still play. This one will be fun because we can play are characters. Even if you don't want to dive into the complexity of it you can still have fun. The last game was fun even though I was revealed the first day because we had a backstabbing non-person on our team.

Which remind me. Khush are you going to get a mod to check for Dupe accounts?

Day times - Yes, I could announce those days. But getting to Vudu's suggestion of 24 hour days. This is something I was thinking about doing but the problem is, people with roles and hits need to pm first so I can get ready and post the next story block. I don't have a problem with doing this and if you want to try it, it's fine by me. But people with roles wouldn't have much time to act after the days events. If you want me to do it. PM me with a message saying go for 24. If 11 people do, then it's decided. Unless I get more no to 24.

Kairon - When I logged on, I had a pm waiting from Kairon and sent him a pm only to come here and see more discussion. All I'm going to say is I told Kairon to watch the game at least if he's not playing to see what it's like. The only thing I'm goint to add is that the first game I played was mafia 6. You can find it if you look back through the funhouse threads. That game had 30 people and a whole bunch of roles like this game. I had never played this game before. Only understood parts of it and didn't even know how to pm people. But thanks to some help from my mob boss Knowsnothing, I ended up winning the game for my mafia. Maybe it helped that I had no previous experience of mafia games, so I didn't have any concept on how it was supposed to be played. Still, Sometimes you just have to jump in headfirst. Even if you don't win, it's an experience.

Ok, enough with the motivational speeches. Let's answer one more question. Dupe accounts.

I asked Pale on like Day 1 of this sign-up thread if he could sticky it and check for any dupe accounts if there is someone I don't recognize. So far, I think we can trust every name signed up so far. But, yes, Pale's the man for the job.

Hey, somebody stole our idea.

Anyway. 24 hour voting. Mmm. I'm certainly for 24 hour talking. But I think people should have a few hours where they can do their night actions in peace. You can do it like the one game, where voting was cut off at midnight EST, even though the game master went to bed earlier. And then voting started again at 6.

Lol jsut signed up for one of these games on another forum. The clown running it has just made a huge debacle over the roles handed out. Givin one person two roles while 3 people missed out altogethor and this is in a townie free game. He then SAID OUT LOUD that those people didn' get roles, another stroke of pure genius. It's hilarious and I've just started posting my teamates names out to other players randomly for added lols to take the game super seriously.

I trust we can count on Khush for a proper game?

LOL! So I've jsut been KICKED OUT of this otehr Mafia game on the weaker board when it came to the Game master's attention taht I was sharing infomation! Apaprently revealing the names of my fellow townies (or lying) to a random member was so detrimental to the game taht he's totally restarting it.
