Is that the same as  Naruto:Clash of Ninja 2 in the US?

Naruto:Clash of Ninja 2 = Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2

but, GNT4 came out in japan last year.....unless you're asking about the US version, which hasn't been given a date yet (not even 2 is out yet!)

I asked the people at the D3 Publisher booth if there was a plan for 3 and 4 yet...

They're response was that they weren't sure it would be worth it to still support the Gamecube when the series gets to that point in the US.

See, I don't understand this. Fighting games released in quick succession are usually cumulative, building on the roster and tweaking some of the graphics and gameplay.

Wouldn't it make more sense just to release 4 in the US and rename it 2? Especially  since there is little hope of the subsequent versions getting released after the cube life cycle is over.

Maybe I'm missing something. is there a storyline from game to game?

The storyline in the games follows the series, and the new characters are introduced to the games as the series introduces them.  D3's plan is to release the games as the series progresses in the states, but by the time they're ready to release gekko ninja frenchfries 4 the GC will be even more dead.

But that goves them plenty of time to port it to the Wii, just bump up some textures, re-calibrate for the classic controller, and tweak the gamelplay a little then slap into a Wii cast and call it day.

Well, I don't really see why they couldn't release a Cube title into the Wii's lifespan, especially since the Wii is backward compatable. They did it for the PS1 and the PS2.

By the time Cartoon Network gets anywhere near where it needs to be we'll be half way into the Wii lifetime I beleive.  (Sort of like theres been what seems like 2 seasons of filler so the Manga has some breathing room.)
