Nintendo Gaming / Gradius Galaxies

Has anyone gotten this title so far? If so how does it compare to the previous Gradius titles? Does have the same feel, difficulty and fun factor?

Yeah, and it doesn't slow down constantly like uh, Gradius III on SNES does. (You can get it to slow down if you try really really hard and have a million things on screen trying to kill you on Loop 3)

It's also worth having both Ikaruga and Gradius, they're really different - Gradius is more about making progress, I think, while Ikaruga is all score.

(It's also been out for quite a while, you might be able to find a used copy on the cheap)

If somebody wants an icon hosted, reply/email/message/AIM me and I can get it up on my webspace as long as I have bandwidth to spare.

(AIM: PARANOiA SUPER)

Here's the big ol' collection of icons that you may remember from the PGC forums from, er, a long time ago.

http://bawluh.homestead.com/files/icons.zip

It's about 1mb, all of the icons are 5k or less.

Stay tuned and there may even be another new collection.

Here's an update, it's actually fun and easy to beat the snake with just the knife - and hell, you pretty much HAVE to for ammo's sake on Chris's Real Survival.

That's all good and well, but this thread is actually about the finer gameplay points of RE1 there, pardner

:gb2gcd:

Incidentally, has anyone beaten the Snake either time without using any ammo?

It's all about the aiming, if it looks like the pistol is aimed straight at the zombies head, thats the only time ive ever shot thier heads off.

You CAN blow their heads off, in as little as one shot, with a pistol that's aimed level, from level/equal footing. We're just exploring any possible ideas to increase the probability here.

It's not random, if you aim for thier feet their heads wont blow off.

Btw, it's much easier with a shotgun.

I have to wonder if it calculates the actual bullet path with a random offset - or if standing with your gun at about the zombie's head level will increase the odds (like being positioned up a couple of steps on a stairway).

Ok d00ds, I was playing the original Resident Evil, with Chris on Real Survival, and I killed a fresh, new, unharmed zombie with ONE BULLET from the standard pistol - his head exploded. I didn't think that was possible on the first hit - it makes me wonder if the odds of it happening can be improved with distance, angle, that sort of thing. I am hereby dispatching an investigation on what improves the odds, if anything, so get on it, plz.

Pictures and everything! LAN play!

Nintendo has revealed details and images of Mario Kart on the GameCube, which will be called Mario Kart: Double Dash.

The images reveal 16 characters riding in pairs on their karts. One character drives, and the other throws weapons. Characters include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Yoshi, Birdo, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Koopa, and Paratroopa.

We'll have some more details shortly. In the meantime, eyeball what NOA has revealed.

You actually eat Peeps? They're way too cute for me to eat.

I know dooder, it makes me feel so guilty.

Cadbury Eggs are rad, but gawd, they're expensive as hell.

Starburst Jellybeans are AWESOME, see if you can snag some and try 'em out.

Seconded

You can join their fan club for ten bux and get a shirt and some peeps and some other stuff I hear. Also, they generally have stuff available year round (Ghosts for halloween, Trees for Xmas, that sorta stuff).

Also, they are complemented nicely by Starburst jellybeans.

I forget, does it give you the completition time at the end, or do you have to figure it out with a stopwatch?

Oo errr, I'd also like to know which items he got or skipped, and did he do the dark world dungeons in 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 order?
