The thing that shocked me back when I played it was how short it was. The credits rolled and I thought maybe there is more but nope.

Imagine that nothing but hypocritical self justification. Putting people down for something they had no choice over the only difference being what plays better for likes on social media.

I completely agree with OP. The thing you have to understand is that the social justice types that defend it are massive hypocrites. If they got the same pat on the back for shouting down people using karen as a slur like they do against other slurs, they absolutely would be denouncing it. But its the opposite, its popular for them to call people karen online so they do it. Much of what they do is not true conviction or belief its more rooted in social media dopamine hit from likes/clicks, etc.

Still easily one of the best games I have ever played.

David didnt get advantage of updates to the battle system UI. It tells when you are lined for for side or back attack, etc. Helps with learning the systems.

There is a day 1 patch to address the performance issues.

I like how SE have figured a way to get people to pay 3 x $60 for the basically one game.

Also given their constant delays and long development times I can think of worse company to wait on a episodic release of story driven game.

After RE4 being one the best games of its generation, this was such a massive disappointment.

DQ7 is still my favorite after playing DQ8. I like the vignette story style, some of them were quite touching.

I kept hearing people say DQ11 was the best one ever. I think that hype expectation made me slightly disappointed. Its good and I enjoy it but I havent been wowed by it so far.

If it didnt come out at such a packed time I might have got it. But I have Fire Emblem, Astral Chain going at the moment and Zelda and Dragon Quest coming very soon.

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance is exactly what a FE game should be, imo. Its the first one I played and I played it over so many times, its imprinted on me what FE should be. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is almost as good but not quite. I played all the 3DS games, they are just ok to me. Too many of the changes broke 'proper' FE mechanics/systems.

Fire Emblem Three Houses at the start I thought it was a step back in the right direction of the GC/Wii games. But longer I played I found more things I didnt like as much. The monastery become very repetitive like Perona games. If they streamlined the entire month in to a week of gameplay it would have been better. The lack weapon triangle took away some strategy, even if they just nerfed it down a bit instead of complete removal.

Mostly just gripes but overall really good game I enjoyed my time with. I will go through other routes but not in continues play-through, it will be pick yup and play game in times of boredom.

I really like this podcast. I thought David Lloyd was a mad man trying to base a pod around games of such length. But every ep I have enjoyed, even ones on games I haven't played.

I hope Grandia 1/2 can make it in to a future ep. Grandia 2 is one my favorite jrpgs, it holds a lot of nostalgia from playing DC. Replaying today it holds up lot better than more older jrpgs, imo.

No voice-work in Slay the Spire. Patrick Stewart’s recent Video Game resume is a Family Guy and Castlevania game in 2014.

Slay the Spire is still excellent and a whole lot of fun though.

I was thinking of Steamworld Quest, (got my recent card games mixed up) but going by the credits you posted its most likely just a sound alike voice actor.

I wonder if Retro have had entire projects scrapped like what happened to Metroid Prime 4.

SE cant make good games anymore so they are just going to re-release old games. Re-releasing games  like The Last Revenant that are truly average shows they are already scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Everyone should have a run a mile from Shenmue 3 when Sony used their main e3 event to have fans fund it via kickstarter. It was destined to be shitshow from the start.

Shenmue 3 and FF7 remake "won Sony E3" FOUR YEARS AGO and these games have still not hit the market.

I don't believe anything from these attention seeking rumor monger types, especially ones with a track record of being wildly wrong.
