If you want to find out details about Infinium, HardOCP did a very in-depth article a while ago, about as in depth as anyone has gone regarding to the business side of this mysterious group. Here's the link: http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTEy
Enjoy

What ever happened to that law suit against hardOCP?  Incedentally, apparently their tag is a BBcode.

It is currently doing nothing.  Kyle from HardOCP countersued and filed for a motion to discovery (or will soon) so they can show evidence he is actually wrong.  That's about all.

Yeah basically Infinium tried the big fish squashing little fish tactic and hardOCP didn't bite.  Chances are this lawsuit will fade away and nothing will change.

Wow after reading that article it is clear to me this Mr. Roberts,
Director of Infinium Labs is nothing but a piece of trash.
He is currently 34 years old, and has used investors money
so he can host Hollywood Parties, get laid, and spend
their cash like it's monopoly money.
Even IF a Phantom console ever came out and somehow did well
I would never hand over a cent to this man.

Even if he ever manages to release the phantom (quite a name,
he should call himself that with his background)
it would probably pull it's services before people got to
enjoy it and run away with your money like he's clearly done before.

Its just too much suspiscion. Which publishers/developers in their sane mind back this 'thing' now? I'd like to think I gave them fair shake when people were screaming "HOAX! HOAX!", but now this is shadier than the Slim Shady LP (yuk yuk...).

At e3, on-goers should just throw empty bottles and  cans (and tabacoo spit if they allow chewing tabacco in the building), at their booth. Seriously, its not funny anymore.  Re-F'n-diculous.

pale: No, it can't play PC games since DISC patented playing PC games on a console.

? So don't call it a console, call it a PC?  Explain KDR, I don't even know what DISC is...

DISC's (forgot what that stood for) DISCover technology automatically installs PC games on the "console" (PC) by determining its signature. Put in the disc, wait, play, all without having to go through any form of installer program. They patented this technology and licensed it to APEX (creating the "APEXtreme") and some PC manufacturers (who don't plan on labelling their stuff consoles).

Hmm, so maybe it just is a PC that you have to install stuff with?  Perhaps they are trying to get a license, who knows?

Why would you want to take a pc game and put it on your TV.  The mouse and keyboard controls for most pc games does not translate well onto joysticks.  What about upgradeability(is that a word).  This system if not upgradeable will have a shorter lifespan then most consoles.

Infinium Labs is apparently 4 million dollars in debt.

And if they don't launch the Phantom in the next two months, they just might be in trouble.

So, if anyone wants to lend Infinium 70 million dollars so that they can launch the Phantom, they're certain that they can earn you back almost half of that money in their first year alone.

How can you possibly refuse?!? Sign up now! Time is limited! Operators are standing by, just waiting for your call!
Poor people should eat wheat!
I'm about to go punk up some 3rd parties so they don't release games on other hardware, ciao!
