This will help fill out my collection of crappy movies based on video games.

Did Street Fighter starring Van Damme ever come out on DVD?

YAAARRRGGG!!!!! *oohhboy disappears in a blast of nuclear energy.
*oohhboy reappears again thanks to the video game deity.

Definately a love/hate relatinship with this movie. The movie would have been 10x better if they had replaced the director with some one that cared along with some artistic guidance. One more thing, a fatter Mario with Marrnets(sp!) voice over and a less skinny Luigi. The world adaptation was workable though and that is probly the only thing they got right.

You know?  I have NEVER seen this movie.  If it is commonly available at video stores on DVD though, I might give it a watch.  I just can't get ahold of the movie around here anywhere.

i loved this movie!
it's funny as hell!
That;s what made it work. It was an adventure comedy. If it was serious, I don't think it would have turned out good. I mean, Tomb Raider was just sh*t. I'll see TR2, but with very low expectations.
it's the only game-movie that I've seen that's actually kept me interested through the whole feature, and that's good.

What didn't you guys like about it? I mean, if Mario was a real-would character, i reckon this is what he would have been like. I dont think the whinny, high voice would have worked, since he IS a grown man after all.

The ONLY bad bit was, well, none of it!
At the end, was where they could have had a Super Mario Bros 2. That would have been cool.

When I watched it the first time round when I was 10, my first imprssions was "cool". Then I quickly turned into WTF!?!?!!? i has it's moments, but it really doesn't hold up very well. Super scope de-evolve guns? couldn't they have made it shot fireballs or something? The jump boots should have been more jumpy. Ohh well. Love to hate it , hate to love it.

Well at least it's not the TV show.  My friend bought a VHS of a few of those episodes. . . egads, it's so stupid.  But it's funny as hell, and we all love it.  Especially the credits with the fat, greasy, dancing italian guy (first thing we saw when we turned it on, cracked us up).

The Super Mario Super Show was awesome! Not for its quality storylines, or animation... Or.. Voice... But because it was so bad it was HILARIOUS!

Go Captain Lou Albano!
It's weird how there are like four versions of Mario's voice:
1) Albano's version
2) The cartoon Mario's voice, which sounded like Albano, but more synthsized.
3) Bob Hoskin - which also sounded a like, but less creepy than Albano, and more natural
4) Charles Martinet's "Mario's balls ain't dropped yet" version which we hear now.

And there are four versions of Luigi's voice too:
1) who does it in the Super Show?
2) the cartoon
3) John Leguizamo
4) The one we hear now - is it Charles Martinet as well?
