Now, I gotta wonder, did my talking all at the beginning get the townies together, or was I just killed off for talking?  It looked like it helped, but honestly, after I died, I didn't follow it nearly as much as I did before.

Next game, I promise you all that I will read through my role more carefully.  That was my bad, and I'm sorry for ruining the game for people early in the game.

what put the nail in your coffin stabby is when everybody I had contacted during the first day, voted for you, just like they said they did.  The only reason I voted when I did, at the beginning of the day, was because Khush said I could vote against you.

I had misread the role, that I was given the freedom to do what I wanted to do, but if at the end of the day, I didn't follow what Stabby had me do, I would be killed.  So, based on that, the difference being me having some freedom until he talked to me, I PMed Khush.  He said, sure, if you must.  Well, just before I headed out to work, I put my vote down.  Everybody who told me the day before that they were voting for Stabby did.  Maybe 1 or 2 people were picked up during the day.  So, had I not voted, it all would have happened anyway.  But, because I did vote, Stabby got saved.  That's what got me more then anything.

I knew I didn't have a chance at surviving this game.  I was only trying to give that chance to the rest of the townies that didn't become so vocal about their role.  I was trying to get them together so that they could vote together, even if I died.  Well, that seems to have failed.  Go me.  Instead, rather than Stabby being voted off the first day and me being revealed as townie (which I fully believe would have me still be alive now, but hey) I only got townies killed off.  Sorry team townie, and sorry Stabby.  I shouldn't have ratted you out.  I'm actually honored that I was the guy you went to corrupt to help legends win.  What I did wasn't fair, and I hope the rest of the legends team would forigive me.

NOTE TO FURTURE HOSTS: The corrupt townie role doesn't work/sucks.  Just an FYI.  You can't talk to the mafia, because you don't know them, and no townies will trust you.  You have no ability to vote how you want to, and you have no way to go out on a limb on anything.  You are basically dead, and are just there for somebody else to play.  It's an interesting dynamic for whoever is controlling them, but for those being controlled, it sucks.

What?  I got a total of two messages from my propagandist.  The first one totalled nothing more than "Idiot", and then a quote.  The second was much more pleasant, but saying I was played?  That play style was all me, in an attempt to get the townie voting block together.  It was beginning, but the biggest members have been getting kicked faster than I've seen before.  I've considered myself townie, and put out a request for a hit against Stabby only because I wanted back into the true townie crowd.  Sorry I let you guys down.

Wait, so I was a townie, was killed by the bounty hunter, and he got away with it?  This is lame.  I knew I'd be a target, but by golly if I wasn't a townie.  I sent out those first messages to everybody when I was a townie, but then I got corrupted.

I never acted with the mafia.  In fact, they only contacted me ever once.  It's a shame it ended this way.  By the end of the game, you'll all know why I'm a bit more hacked then I should be.

If the townies want any chance of winning BigJim, don't vote for me.  Remember, I'm townie.

With as suspicious as somebody is by getting off the hook yesterday, I'm going to have to vote instead for the one who has created the monstrosity of Blood Falcon.  Vote Black Bull AKA Stevey.  Nothing personal man.  Wait, yes it is.

Spak, bad form.  You shouldn't get a gold star when I answered that on the first page.  ;-)

Like I said, Me=Townie.  Stabby=Mafia.  I will stake my ingame life on that fact, as well as next rounds participation.  If I am wrong, kill me, and I won't be playing next round either, because I would have let the townies down so early.

And vudu, at this point I have a pretty good idea of who the bomber is too, just saying.  And no, it's not stabby.  Now, why would you not go in on this?  First day most people throw out the vote.  Trust me on this one, and we will have one less mafia.  What's wrong with that?

Now, I need this to be said.  I'm heading out for the day.  Won't be back for 12 hours, so I put my vote in now.  I won't be able to respond to anybody, so I'm just going to have the previous post speak for itself.  If you are a townie, now is your time to do something about it.

I really don't like the randomness so far today.  Nobody knows anybody, yet everybody is voting.  To that, I say I have confirmed fact of a mafia.  Spare me today, and vote me out tomorrow if I be wrong, but VOTE Stabby and see just how much I've been telling the truth all along.

61
Hey guys, if you signed up, you are pretty much obligated to play.  The only chance the townies have of winning is if every player actually plays.  It would suck if half of the townies died the second night due to a lack of voting because they thought being a townie sucked.  Please, everybody that signed up, play.  Is that too hard to ask?  Cool cool.  Resume.

Stevey is black shadow?  Oh, this is going to be good.

"IT'S A BOLD STRATEGY COTTON, LET'S SEE IF IT PAYS OFF"  - Dodgeball.

I personally don't like being slandered in those opening pictures.  Although they are amusing.  ;-)  I hope the townies get wise and actually start talking, otherwise there is no chance in heck we are winning.  We shall see.

On a side note, why would you tell me you are mafia?  What does that benifit you?  That you might become a target?  That you might _not_ become a target?  I don't get it.

BTW, what is the townie count anyway?  There are sure to be a ton this game, but how many?

64
Nyladrin is my younger brother.  I talked to him while we were playing Mafia VII was it?  The Pokemon themed one.  Anyway, he liked it, and wanted to join.  Well, this is my next game after Pokemafia, so I called him up and invited him.  We live 60 miles apart, and there is no way in heck we'd share information.  I have to much fun to have it ruined like that.  I figure, the more people the better, right?

65
I'll be the Captain.  Captain Falcon that is.  Icon coming soon.

66
I'm in.  I still have to read over everything, but hey, it should work out plenty well, I trust Khush.  October 1st?  Should be able to swing that.

According to a translation, 1 million copies of each game was shipped, and close, if not all have sold out.  Nintendo also anticipated this demand and shipped 1 million DS Lites.  Both the 2 million Pokemon copies and 500,000 DS Lites sold within a matter of a couple hours.  HOLY FRICK.  Those are some impressive numbers.

That's right Khush, two strait wins for me.    Anyway, I've been away and haven't been able to play Mafia with ya'all these past two times, and I really want to get back at it.  I'm totally down with StarFox Mafia, as well as whatever Khush may have planned.  However scary that may be.

You guys are funny.  I don't believe I've posted this anywhere before, but I have collected every banana in DK64.  I also got every note in Banjo Kazooie (multiple times).  Tooie is a different story, but that is neither here nor there.

I'm also the guy (yes, the one and only) who beat Jet Force Jemini, multiple times, 100 percent.  That game was truly amazing, and well beyond its time.  The only thing I have against it, is the same that everybody else does, and that there were a ton of tribals.  Although, even that wasn't all that bad after you know where they all are.  Gosh those games were cool.

That's true.  But not true.  I plan on buying it as soon as it comes out on DVD, but if I had missed it in theaters I would be kicking myself for years.  This is the new Rocky Horror.  It's dumb entertainment that is so entertaining it's awesome.

Odd though I have also heard reports that some people went to see it by themselves and it held up, to them, as a suspense movie.  Odd, as it's a comedy, but hey.

So did anybody actually go and see this?  I saw it opening day and was actually really impressed.  I went in with low expectations and was played directly to.  This turned out great, and I don't know how.  I've seen it twice now and I have plans to see it a third time.  I have laughed so hard during this movie it hurt afterwards.  Highly recommened.

Anybody else see it?  I've heard there are a number of people that didn't "get" it, so the sooner you can go the better, because you will be with a crowd that probably does get it.

Am I crazy to see a wrench in that picture on the ground?  It couldn't possibly be an Advance Wars level, could it be?  I honestly haven't played the game enough to know, but that could be sweet.  Thoughts?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Framerate vs Detail
« on: August 01, 2006, 08:32:53 AM »
Yes I did play Dynasty Warriors for PS2, but very litte.  I played less on 360, so I'm hardly qualified to make full comparisons.  In my time with the 360 verson I was impressed with the number of characters on screen and the lack of slow down. The draw distance, if I had to say, was very similar to what I remember being in the PS2 version.

Although saying that, I would still have a look at it, as I really didn't play much of either.

So this past weekend I played a lot of 360.  Great system.  Totally buying one after this weekend's time with it.  That still doesn't change the fact that I had issue with several of the games graphics.

Dynasty Warriors is the first one that comes to mind.  Extremely fluid frame rate.  Dozens of characters on screen.  Co-op.  The one thing that killed the graphics for me though, was the crazy short draw distance.  We're talking 64is here.  Maybe it's better in single player, but that game did not impress me like a next gen game should.

Next was GRAW.  Extremely good looking game single player.  Extremely poor looking game multiplayer.  They seem to have kept all details for each of the screens in multiplayer, and what that did was just kill the framerate.  Like to the 15 and below range.  Still a fun game.  Still playable, but very annoying.  The most 'next gen' bit about it to me though, was not the graphics.  It was the size and scale of the levels.  Many many paths to take through the city helped draw you in SO much.

COD2 was where it was at though.  They knew what to do.  A gorgeous game single player, and an extremely fluid and good looking game multiplayer.  The fact that bodies stay around on long after they've been killed is impressive (same thing in GRAW).  It even gave me a kill I wouldn't have been able to get before (hiding lying down with dead bodies is fun).

I figure that if I can play TimeSplitters 2 at 60 fps, I should be able to play a FPS on the 360 at 60 fps as well.  Is that to much to ask for?
