Nintendo Gaming / Contra: Shattered Soldier ported over to GameCube
« on: February 17, 2003, 07:35:09 PM »
well quite frankly i bought nes for mario bros. without a system filled with mario bros addicted nintendo crackheads there would be no popular system for Konami to put their games on.
Where did Konami make alot of its money? Ninja Turtles. At the time most kids were Nintendo fans, at the same item most kids were Ninja Turtles fans. Konami made some fucking crazy dough off Nintendo's platform. Would this shit have done as well on the pc? other systems? HELL NO!!!!! So, while i bought Ninja Turtles, Contra, Tiny Toon Adventures!(a fucking kiddy ass game) i was oen of the millions givign them their money and they have the nerve to say im unimportant? I do not think so.... your not even experimenting with us. There are millions of people who have gamecubes. That is a justifiable userbase to test. If the game is good you can guarantee a userbase at least this big will buy enough to make a profit. Are there million seller games? Yes there is. Is there hit games yes there is? What does this mean the system is profitable. Jump on it. As capitalist its important to capitalize. Also, if you dotn cover your bases you will be screwed.

remember the e3 2002 traler...remember ocarina of tiems comercial...essentially they wer ethe same. Same song. All gameplay sequeences...what made these so awesome? They just were.  This new comercialis just more lame artistic crap. Seriously they need to make a comercial that screams "BUY THIS EPIC! YOU MUST HAVE IT! YOU WILL DIE IF YOU DONT GET IT~! GET IT NOW! IF YOU DONT YOU WILL SUVK! THIS GAME WILL ROCK! YOU NEED IT!"
Ocarina of time did this, the trailer for 2002 did it...this comercial just says zelda is comign out...get it if you want...no big deal. Its a decent comercial, better then soem of the opther crap NOA has spit out but it doesnt say HYPE.

From what iv notcied about good game comercials is..good comercials are excessively lame and a silly funny or they show the game and play good music.

Nintendo Gaming / Is it just me, or is 1080 fugly?
« on: February 17, 2003, 01:52:28 PM »
well...from the vids i have on my computer f-zero looks pretty tight....bt the vid on my bonus disk. The textures are nto up to par, the characters need more detail, everything looks jaggy. It doesnt look as good as SSX tricky...which is very smooth and colorful and its not close to amped either. What it really resembles is a ps2 game...maybe it iwll be a lot more polished at release...it needs alot of work.

mario 64 had a limited opening and ending cut scene in it. Zelda: Oot was fileld with cutscnes.
Final Fantasy came out a year before zelda, but i dont htink they really had any correlation with each other. Games were going to get more and more cutscenes when it became possible given the power of the systems to make cutscenes.Wind Waker takes what they had in oot and kicks it up.

I dotn know Peter Molyneux(spelling) has made some awesome games. The game sounds like quality to me. It filled with all sorts of cool ideas. It will not be like FF.  Then again i remember Aidyn chronicles promised good things and it turned otu to be worse then hercules 64(actually that wasnt' half bad) which was made by the makers of superman64(we all know this game sucked balls..big green goblin balls)

but considerign where its coming from it could very well be good, now is the tiem where its hard to make extremely crappy games, systems are easy to program for and even low class games can be cool. I played this cheap MK ripoff fighting game(it wasnt teo feng either....teo feng...oooh) on an xbox kiosk, and suprisingly it was pretty decent. Im sure next generation all the crap will pretty much go far away into the sewers.  I mean what once was a technical delima in making a game is now going to be easy to pull off and the gameplay will benifit.

the framerates flawless untill theres a pan shot...which are only in cinemas....i think the change in resolution has made camera panning a little more chinky...you wouldnt havre noticed it on the n64 version because everythign is jso aggy and blury. Still the upgrade are minimal but it still looks great...it seriously looks better then soem dreamcast games.

Game: Pac-man(a.k.a Puck Man)
Developer: Namco(Formerly Nakamura Amusement Company)
Publisher: Midway(U.S.), Namco(Jp)
release date: 1980(U.S) ?(Jp)
System: Arcade

The Nakamura Amusement Company now known as Namco started out as a pinball and pachinco company. They were probably the company who revolutionized what is now the modern arcade. Namco using its puzzle making knowlege and its technical skills devised
Pac-Man. A very simple lemon shaped character that was supposed to go around a maze
collecting dots trying to avoid ghosts. Pac-Man contained soem of the earliest powerups in
game like the superball which made ghosts helpless for a limited amount of time. I have spent lots and lots of quarters on this game. It is quite awesome. I beleive when Miyamoto asked what was his favorite game he replied Pac-Man.

Sega is givign adequate support to everyone. The gettign rid of sports is totally logical. I mean there are millions of people who own a gcn and only 20,000 people buy nfl2k2. That must have been a fucking bitch in their wallet. It takes about 200,000 copies to break even.
