Yeah, I agree with the idea that the Direct itself was executed poorly overall. I think it started out really strong, and they actually have a lot of near-term games that they could make a big deal of in 2015, but they just failed to create a single compelling narrative (marketing story?) that could unite the whole experience and give people something to focus on afterwards.

Sure they did: "transformations." Whatever that means...

So late? :-(

Looks quite entertaining. Although in fairness, some of my enjoyment may come from three of the guys clearly antagonizing the fourth...

The Treehouse segment made it look really fun, although I suspect single-player is going to be a pale shadow of that experience.

I was disappointed in what they've shown so far, and I'm not talking about the graphics.

The Treehouse segment for this one is something I'm really going to be paying attention to. They showed so little so far that I can't really form an opinion yet.

Where is the Zelda love? I'm having a blast! Twilight Princess tries some risky things with some of its dungeons, and it doesn't always work, but it's still a good time. I just finished the very different Temple of Time, which has some very clever puzzles which are a little tedious in execution.

I think others have already voiced my pet enthusiasm killer: the opening is a big, unavoidable Like Like that instead of eating your shield sucks out the player's will to continue the game. I soldiered through on my first playthrough because I was eager to play a new Zelda on my new console, but I've never been able to get through it again after that first playthrough even knowing that some pretty good dungeons (and bad overworld) await. I haven't gotten through it for this Retroactive yet either. Not sure I will.

While I've always defended the slower intro to this game, it's becoming very difficult to justify it now. When I last played Twilight Princess, I was fourteen years old, and now at twenty-two I feel like my time is being disrespected as the game asks me to herd goats twice, direct a falcon twice, and catch fish for a cat twice. None of these actions are relevant for the entire rest of the game after this tutorial is over, although it is cute how an NPC uses the falcon against you later after you basically teach it to him.

Hey now, goat herding matters later. Ten hours later and fifty hours later, but later nonetheless!

Fun show, and I liked how you guys turned the tables on the hosting this time around.

Just one small point: I think Jonny said that Breath of Fire was developed by Squaresoft. From what I understand, it was instead made by Capcom, but it was localized and co-published in North America by Squaresoft. This might explain why it was so relatively uninspired!

Their site may have gotten more legitimate sources over the years...

If that's the case, it often fails to show in the results.

Then again, I kind of deserve it for trying a rather risky strategy.  The reason I voted for Mop it up at the last moment on Day 4 was because I wanted to cause a tie with RedBlue.  I wanted a tie to happen and then was hoping it would go unresolved so 3 players would be randomly eliminated and hoping this randomness would pick more mafia players to eliminate as a result.

I'm not following your logic here. The town was pretty much rolling, and the successful scum kills were hitting each other as much as they were hitting townies. Why drop all that and take the risk of killing multiple townies/power roles at once instead of eliminating a likely scum? And it's not like the endgame won't narrow down the suspect list either way. It seems like an unnecessary risk to me.

11
Then again today is I believe the nook Mafias day to kill something, so if those two get a lucky shot they could take the game. but I highly suspect redd's mafia is mostly hidden.

But wait if nobody votes does that count as a tie?

It actually does and I was thinking I may have to post that in the thread here.

I say let them figure it out on their own.  ;D

Bombs are so much more fun when you're not on the receiving end of them!

Tip of the hat to Spak-Spang: you were a great partner to have. Sorry to you, mop, and sundulous for pushing everyone to vote for RedBlue: Spak and I figured he was scum on day two, but we went for the certain scum (lolmonade and then pokepal) first. Would've been better to reverse that, I guess: hindsight! We also suspected crimm, but I suppose it's good I didn't scan him yet, as it would have been a wasted result.

Good game, and thanks to Khush for hosting and inviting me back. Best of luck to the town!

I don't own a Wii U yet, but I'll be more than a little sad if it can't do better than the Gamecube, let alone not even sniff that system's numbers.

*slowly tries to get up*

Katie isn't even a Latina's name, you n-nimrodddddd...

*collapses*

In honor of the mafia's recent fiery death dance, I submit K.K. Flamenco.

Feel the heat, folks!

Also, vote RedBlue

How the heck did katie get in, I thought Mayor Khushy sealed us off...

Seriously I'm sick of peaches, get me an apple.

I got yer apple right here. 'Yeah buddy!'

I dunno, when the first-party publicly declares they're essentially finished making games for it the system is effectively dead no?

Hi, I'm Katie. I'm so happy to be able to visit Shangri-La for the first time. What do you guys recommend for fun around here?

It's traditional for folks to go into the center of town and repeatedly scream "I know who the mafia is and I will tell everyone at dusk tonight!" at the top of their lungs. Make sure to tell everyone where you're staying too. Protip: the best shortcuts in town are in the dark, isolated alleys.

As for your favorite artwork, you look like a complete Philistine, so I know it isn't The Night Watch.

Oh ho! Octavian has stopped by. And he's brought an.. octopus? That's a weird choice considering who you are. Even worse, this isn't a fish. It is part of the seafood/diving catagory. I can not accept this. Please consult a New Leaf Fishing guide and catch one of the approved fish from it for consideration. Also, think about what you have done in this terrible case of murder.

Cousin Vinny was an ass. In the immortal words of the great Augustus: **** that guy.

I am interested in any form of reason for this sudden rise against me 'yeah buddy.'

I am but a koala looking for his goldfish and I question how anyone could believe I have misled you in some way... *sigh*

Maybe it's because, by some bizarre miracle of miracles, you've managed to be even more annoying than the average blabberhead in this sorry excuse for a toxic waste dump, "buddy." Me, I've got my eye elsewhere, but I could perhaps be persuaded...

21
Knowing how sick you people all are, it's probably an octopus.

No, go on, guess!

Gah! What's with all this stupid racket? Bad enough I'm forced to live in this third-rate dump, now I have to put up with all this stupid blather to boot. I'm using six tentacles to block my ears, AND I CAN STILL HEAR YOU!!! Can I vote everyone? Because I would really like to vote everyone.
Just get me a damn peach and I'll shut up 'yeah buddy'

I got your peach right here, pal!!!

Thanks! Bit bummed to hear the dungeons are so small again. One of my favorite parts about Frontier was how beating the dungeons took a lot of time and preparation, because they were all massive. The other games make them feel more perfunctory, which is unfortunate in most ways.

The reward for a job well done is another job. Is that really what you want?
