As per usual with my games whoever gets killed in my games first gets to name the dead thread. I was thinking of 1,000 years on the moon or something since that is where all the dead people are but go ahead apdude.

Well Nightmare Moon was sent to the Moon for 1,000 years by her sister Princess Celestia. It was in the first episode. I don't think anybody has died persay it is just that they are sent away so they don't have to worry about them for a while. That is kinda just for the villians though.

Yeah that name works and is actually a quote from one of the episodes.

There's really nothing to talk about; I was merely commenting on the fact that under standard rules I'd still be alive since the godfather was voted out. It is what it is, there's nothing we can do now. The fun thing is going to be that next game people will feel sorry for me and be more hesitant to vote me out, and I'll probably end up being mafia in that game.

Godfather wasn't voted out he was killed by an item by Pinkie Pie. I was decideding if I should keep you in the game because Pinkie Pie did get to choose first with items and I was wondering if I should let Pinkie Pie go first even over hits but I thought that that would unbalance the game too much to the townies side so that is why I have the voting out the GF by townies and the poison joke Flower so that the Mafia can stop the hits if they get unlucky.

Godfather wasn't voted out. Ceric was the godfather and was killed during the night. When that happens, I let the mafia hit go through as well.

In the early versions of this game, the mafia always got a hit even if the godfather was voted out. I introduced the concept of the hit being avoided if the godfather was hit during the day for multiple reasons and now it has sort of become the standard.

Every host has their own ideas of how the game should work as well which I think helps keep things interesting although people will prefer one form to another I'm sure.

EDIT: Of course, Maxi was able to reply before I could but I tried anyways.

Yeah I agree that with all the items it gets confusing, but as I understand it, actually Ceric was killed by and item and not the vote, so was able to make a hit. 

Kind of funny that I hit Ceric with the anvil at the same time that someone else hit him with the sword.  If anyone should be upset I would think it would be Ceric since all he really did was vote for me and got so much targeted hate.  Guess that should serve as a warning to people who want to vote me out day one in the future (scarcasm)!

Personally,

When I host I will let the hit go if it came in before the killing item.  The rational there is that the Godfather isn't actually the one doing the job in most cases.  Thats Henchmen work.  If the item comes in and I don't have other day/night rules I'll silence the Godfather before he can give the word if he hasn't already.

It's certainly breaking into two factions. If the townies can get one more mafia member then it's pretty much over.

Yeah that is true Ceric but there is an item to search for roles although the items of it is limited so you have to rely on chance and luck to get it. It is more of a great if you get the item but you shouldn't rely finding it all the time.

I was wrong on one of the people I thought was mafia (jrlibrariran). Oh well, wish I could go back and vote on the other person I think is mafia.

In retrospect, I probably could have saved myself through the use of items and whatnot. But seeing as I was top on most people's lists of mafia suspicion, I eventually decided that I'd take the fall and hopefully lead the rest of the townies to find the remaining true mafia members.

No it was not Ceric. The hit was randomized with all the people alive in the game at that point. So it was possible for the Mafia to get hit by their own hit. When I posted about the Rain in the thread I was just posting the worst possible things that could happen for each of the things and the things that the chocolate rain could do. The Mafia took a chance with their hit and played the odds and lost and one of their teammates died. They could have just not sent in the hit and played it safe and get more townies to die when the Chocolate Rain was down.They didn't do that and well unfortunately it cost them.

Do people effected with discord know they are mafia?  Also do they know who discord is?  Otherwise they may be mafia and still vote off the mafia member.  On the other hand if they do know then they would just tell everyone to vote off the last member become townies again then win!  It's a neat ability but I don't think it can work very well since they can switch back.

People who are discorded are not Mafia.They are still on the townie role side. I let them know that they are discorded.  They just cant use their roles, or use items although they can get items if certain conditions are met.The only thing they can do is vote.

I don't like how Mafia games are done on this site because there's almost no thought involved. We almost won because the town just bandwagons on random people and the only reason they won is because I was being retarded.


Instead of just bandwagoning and crossing your fingers, how about you scum hunt, provide reasons why, and talk? Only Khush and Silenced did just that. Everyone else just voted, didn't post, or cracked jokes the entire time.


Also, the Mafia needs to be more vocal with each other. I wasn't sure what we were doing the entire time.

I have to agree with you Oblivion at this. It used to not be like this. I pretty much did that all the time but that tends to get you killed if you are not careful with it. If you are too smart you are voted off right away and if you act dumb and or not really sure while in PMs you to some people you deduce things well then things tend to keep you alive longer.

Also there was a reason I did that group PM at the start with you guys so you can talk with each other in the planning.Also so I could gets some thoughts on what you guys were thinking.

I mean, it was better in this game but if you look at the Batman game, it was literally just people bandwagoning the whole time. It's a disaster.


I don't mind the jokes or anything, but people need to start participating. If ShyGuy hadn't died and I didn't derp and not send in a kill we most likely would have won.

Well I was trying to do something.  When I saw super post that he would vote for whoever posted next I figured that was something the Mafia wouldn't do, so I then posted below him which is also something no mafia member would typically do and then vote for him.  We would each then have a vote on each other and it would break the ice.  I then PM'ed him to team up and change our votes once the mafia chimed in thinking they were safe.  This sort of worked as Shyguy and Ceric both voted for me.  Problem was it was a friday and attendence was low an he forgot to come back to change the vote and I didn't expect too many townies to jump in on the bandwagon (JR why bandwagon me?).  At that point there was no saving myself unless a bunch of others realized that it made no sence that I was mafia and focused somewhere else.
