Nintendo of Europe's release schedule for 2004.

Nintendo of Europe have published their expected release schedule for GameCube and Game Boy Advance next year. Notable titles include:

<small>Nintendo Unveil 2004 Software Line Up

    Nintendo reveals an exciting and eagerly anticipated software release schedule for early 2004, with games such as Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing for Nintendo GameCube and Sword of Mana for Game Boy Advance, among some of the incredible games soon to launch. Forget those winter blues, Nintendo will definitely chase them away. Check out the highlights…

   2004 will see Nintendo GameCube owners everywhere enjoying even more hours of fun. There are games for players of all ages, including action-packed espionage missions, challenging adventures set in magical fantasy lands or classic platform action. Here is just a selection of what’s on offer to whet your appetite.

    Nintendo GameCube

   James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing - Electronic Arts 20th February 2004
   The safety of the world rests in the hands of the world's greatest secret agent - you. Pierce Brosnan stars as Bond alongside a stellar cast of Shannon Elizabeth as Serena St. Germaine, Heidi Klum as Dr. Katya Nadanova, and Mya as Agent Starling. Employ the latest Q gadgets, drive Bond's Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, and fight villains with a new hand-to-hand combat system as you cover four continents on a journey to save the world.

   Kirby Air Ride – Nintendo 26th February 2004
    Exclusive to Nintendo GameCube

   The little pink ball is back! This is Kirby’s first racing game, exclusive to the Nintendo GameCube and will definitely get hearts and pulses racing. The easy to manoeuvre controls ensure players can really speed round the tracks, or even glide through the air at top speed with no acceleration button. Kirby retains the special skill that allows him to steal enemy abilities and use them to his advantage. Players also have a choice of numerous different warpster vehicles, each with specialist racing properties. Three distinct play modes push the racing genre in new and exciting directions.

   Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles – Nintendo 11th March 2004
    Exclusive to Nintendo GameCube

   The blessed crystal is in severe danger of losing its sparkle and power and without this the people will die. Embark on a dark and dangerous adventure, into the depths of a far off dungeon, in search of the sacred Myrrh Droplets. Kids can watch news shows, purchase items on the Shopping Channel or experiment with some new regimes on the fitness channel. Players can also tune into exclusive animations featuring the popular Pichu Bros, Pikachu plus many more.

   Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour – Nintendo Q2 2004

   Exclusive to Nintendo GameCube

   Choose to play on a conventional course or an all-new course designed from the ground up to be all about Mushroom Kingdom! Players have to avoid warp pipes and beware of numerous all-new hazards like Piranha Plants, Chain Chomps and Thwomps when playing on Mario inspired courses. The multiplayer function in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour means that players can tee-off together and get ready for some friendly competition! Players can also connect up with the upcoming Mario Golf: Advance Tour for the Game Boy Advance and transfer characters back and forth.

   Pokémon Colosseum - Nintendo Q2 2004

   Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution expands the Phantasy Star Online (PSO) universe, offering a new style of strategic combat, team-based battle tactics. PSO Episode III allows users to chat in the lobby about status upgrades and tactics, and then journey to the planet surface to engage in strategic combat using a turn-based Card system. The game continues the story arc of the previous PSO games, as players once again become Hunters and explore the mysteries of the planet Ragol. Featuring both online and offline play, as well as multiplayer modes, PSO Episode III adds new content and players to the ever-growing PSO community.

   Sword of Mana – Nintendo 18th March 2004

   Long ago, in a time of darkness, a mighty empire tapped its energy to dominate the world. In an effort to stop the use of such power for evil purposes, a woman from the Mana tribe transformed herself into the Mana Tree, locking the power away from anyone who would try to abuse it. The hero, the young leader of the Duchy of Grantz, has been raised and trained as a gladiator in the slave pits of Grants. The heroine in this story is a young woman from the Mana tribe who possesses deep ties to the goddess Mana. As the Shadow Knight is persecuting the Mana tribe, the heroine embarks on a journey to protect it. Sword of Mana, from the makers of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, allows you to swap magic and weapons quickly to find the best way to fight your enemies or fight as a team with the link mode for two-player cooperative game play.

   Sabre Wulf – THQ March 2004

   A mysterious stranger has arrived in the tranquil village of Blackwyche and done the unthinkable: shattered the fabled Sabre Wulf amulet, releasing the savage ’Wulf itself from long years of imprisonment and bringing fear and panic to the world. Both of these villains must be stopped. Once more it falls to veteran explorer Sabreman to track and recapture his most fearsome nemesis.    Sonic Battle – SEGA/THQ Q1 2004

   "Sonic Battle" brings furious combat action to the Game Boy Advance, as Sonic and his friends set out to determine which one of them is really the best fighter! Choose from eight characters such as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Choose the arena, set the rules, customize your special attacks, and then engage in non-stop battles. With three types of special attacks, as well as Ground, Aerial, and Defence fighting techniques, you can customize your character to suit your fighting style. Up to four friends can link their systems together using the Game Boy Advance Game Link cable for team battles, and then combine special attacks into devastating combos!    Metroid Zero Mission - Nintendo April 2004

   Samus is making an eagerly anticipated come back in 2004, this time on the Game Boy Advance. Gamers can again accompany the legendary Samus as she explores Planet Zebes in an attempt to defeat the evil Mother Brain and Space Pirates. Players can explore numerous secret and exciting paths and areas, each one leading to either extra power-up items or even important locations. Samus can only gain entry to new areas after acquiring one of the many weapons or abilities. With amazing weapons, enemies, environments and puzzles gamers are guaranteed an action packed adventure.

   Donkey Kong Country 2 - Nintendo Q2 2004

   The all-new exciting story follows Diddy Kong and his girlfriend Dixie as they battle with the nasty King K. Rool who has kidnapped Donkey Kong! Other friends of Donkey Kong will lend a hand throughout the journey, including Rambi the rhino, Expresso the ostrich, Enguarde the swordfish, Squawks the parrot and the intriguingly monickered Winky the frog, all of whom will display their own special capabilities at various points. Donkey Kong Country 2 boasts over 30 levels in which to enjoy the company of these fine animal friends. The DK Attack mode is a brand new feature which challenges players to complete each level from the main game in as quick a time as they can. In addition to this, there are 2 mini games, Funky’s Fishing & Candy’s Dance Studio, which can be played either solo or with a friend using the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable.

   F-Zero 2 - Nintendo Q2 2004

   This unique game takes place in an all-new futuristic setting, with over 30 different characters to choose from. Each character has an individual story told through exciting anime style cut scenes before and after each thrilling mission. Different stories all interweave and relate to one another creating a truly intriguing narrative that becomes more interesting the further into the game players get. More characters and relationships are revealed as players get more involved in the game, each with their own particular motives and ambitions for winning the race. Speed through mist, snow, mines and power plants with this exclusive Game Boy Advance game and get the blood racing!

   This is just a selection of some the excellent software games due out in 2004. Fans of the Game Boy Advance SP can also look forward to games such as Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town from Natsume/Ubi Soft coming out in Q1. Later on in 2004 comes Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand from Konami and Shining Soul 2 from SEGA/THQ all coming out in Q2 2004.
