I'm developing a spiritual successor to Zelda 2
« on: November 01, 2020, 03:57:54 PM »
Hi there. I just wanted to shamelessly plug my new game: Into The Eternal. I hope that's ok. It's a massive action RPG inspired by Zelda 2. I was a HUGE fan of Zelda 2 back in the day. I think it's criminally under rated - and we really don't have anything like it today. Anyway, I've got a bunch of videos and info and stuff. We're running a little Kickstarter right now to get us over the hump to get to early access in January. Here's a bunch of links you can check out:

Watching the gameplay video I have to admit, the game looks boring.  The giant battle had you just attack and dodge, attack and dodge. There was no real dynamic feel to the combat.  There was no excitement to the swing and attack or fear from the attack of the monster.

I like what you are doing, and following the model of 2D side scrolling battles but it needs to be more dynamic that it is right now.

I think the Wonder Boy series is kinda an influence as well or should be.

It looks good but you should take out all references to other games on your kickstarter. That is the type of thing that gets you sued or at least sent a cease and desist notice.
