Zoonami Speculation and Questions
« on: May 02, 2003, 11:41:21 PM »
First of all, is Zoonami a Nintendo 2nd Party developer?  I honestly don't remember.

Secondly, has any news been released about their planned game for GC?  I know they've been uber-secretive about it, as is the Nintendo way.  I hope we'll get a taste of it at E3.  Do you think It'll be an entirely new game, or do you think it's the long-awaited sequel of one of Nintendo's legendary franchises of old.  We've witnessed a strikingly large amount of instances where Nintendo essentially "loans" it's franchises out to developers; I wonder if that's what they're doing with Zoonami.

Any thoughts or remarks on " GAME ZERO? "

From what I know, they're 3rd Party,
But they're really close to Nintendo.
Kinda Like Factor 5.

Zoonami are a 3rd Party. But their first game will be Nintendo exclusive. So far, they are on the road to becoming Factor 5 - a 3rd party with VERY close relations to Nintendo that they are pretty much a 2nd party. I guess that if Zoonami make a great game, Nintendo may be interested in them even more, and if they intend to buy them (like they did Retro), then that's our replacement for Rareware!

yeah zoonami is a third party close to nintendo
just as others had said- they seem like factor 5
from what i heard from various web sites, zoonami will unveil "game zero" at e3 this year
i could believe that since we havent heard any real concreat evidence on the game as of yet
i call the big one bitey.

I hope it is a FPS, something that would be Nintendo's answer to Halo, but like 1000 times better.

Replacement to Rare is like, the most exaggerated thing you could say. Rare had a staff of atleast like 500 (or was it over a thousand) and Zoonami still consist of less than 10 people as far as I know.

Rare had like 200 or something I thought...maybe a little more but not over 500. Either way, loads of people (like 50 to 100 or more) left Rare after MS aquired them and joined companies like Free Radical and Zoonami..

I'm not saying they're the same type of game or anything, but does anyone else wonder if the code name for the project, Game Zero, is a small dig at Rare? It does seem similar to the title of a game Rare was working on, Perfect Dark Zero, and they are ex-Rare employees, it might be a bit of a vague company joke...

Although obviously a mock-up, there could be a few hints at what 'Game Zero' is here http://www.zoonami.com/products.html and here

Ocarina Blue weve had that link posted on this board like 20 times and already a year back. That teaser paper stuff doesnt reveal anything, we will have to wait to E3.

Im just very afraid that game zero might dissapoint. Im hoping for a stylish unique action adventure.

It hasn't been hyped up too terribly much, which is probably a good thing.  From all your replies I've gathered that neither Nintendo or Zoonami have said a word about this game in months.  Hrmmm...   Guess we'll all just have to wait until E3.

What I meant by a replacement of Rare was that if Zoonami's first game is as magical/fun/really good as most of Rare's games, then we would practically have Rare under the Zoonami name, albeit also with a fraction of the staff.
Nobody can replace Rare. But Zoonami can just carry on Rare's work on Nintendo consoles.

Maybe...

...GAME ZERO= Recently rumored Custom Robo GCN

Check it out over at n-sider.com.  Interesting speculation.  Both the rumored Custom Robo and "Game Zero" have been said to be third person shooters with LAN support.  Interesting, no?

So they haven't said who the developer for Custom Robo is yet?  Hmmm... I wonder if this IS the Zoonami game...

Um, no. Custom Robo is by EAD, just like it has been forever...

Zoonami doesn't look like it will show anything at E3....How long are they going to work on the game? It's been like 3 years already.

Yeah but it wasn't at Nintendo's press conference. Maybe it's a surprise for the show itself.
