Title: 100hz compatibility?
Post by: my2ndsky on December 19, 2003, 10:49:24 PM
Hello everyone, I just bought a gamecube and a got a problem with it, I looked around on google and couldn't find out where it came from

I'm not on the NTSC standard since I'm from Belgium.. I'm on PAL and my TV has got a refresh rate of 100hz and I can't seem to have sound with my gamecube connected to it. I already tried on other TV's and there is no problem.. Does that come from my TV? Or do I need another cable?

Hope this post don't piss off anyone, and sorry for my english.. I'm doing my best

Thanks

100Hz has nothing to do with it, although I'm not sure it can convert 60Hz output to a 100Hz picture.
What kind of cable are you using to attach the Cube?

The sound and the picture are completely seperate animals.  Somehow I doubt that it's a problem with your cable or GameCube, as you say it works fine on other TVs.  I would be checking over my TV if I were you.  Or you could just plug your GameCube intot he stereo or something.

Are you running it throgh SCART port or what?

And PAL is 50Hz, not 60 KDR

manunited: All but two or three games of my colection allow output in 50 and 60Hz. I know 50Hz gets upscaled to 100Hz on appropriate TVs, but I'm not sure about 60Hz. (see also: PAL60 standard)
