Wow.  That does look impressive, though I'm worried its a bit too much in the direction of Modern Warefare in its look.  Part of the charm of Battlefied is the lighthearted vibe, I hope it keeps that same spirit.  The first game was my favorite shooter this gen.  While MW is obviously a great game, it takes itself a bit too serious for me.

Battlefield 2 has a very serious feel to it. It is just the dumbed down versions for consoles that have that aspect. Though I will say I did enjoy the destructible buildings in Bad Company, then again give me the real Battlefield series over these spin offs. Also BF2 did the modern warfare two full years before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

BF2 was fun. I didn't like the BF2142 demo though so BF2 is the only BF I own.

BF2142 is good not great. I think it kind of hurts the experience when you can't really relate to what is going on with all the futuristic weapons and vehicles.

You're going to have to elaborate on that, because I don't understand what you mean.

And please don't use the term "immersion" in any capacity.

The 360 version of bf2 is serious and decent, pick it up for like 5bucks on ebay

I figured I'd bump this since we actually have some new media to ogle at.

There's a bunch of new stuff under the Features and Gameplay sections. Squad Deathmatch sounds pretty fun, a lot like the 2v2v2v2 in Gears of War 2. Everything I see about this game makes me want it more.

Another bump due to the release of the demo on Xbox Live, as well as the beginning of the PC beta for anybody who pre-ordered through Steam!

I spent a few hours messing around with the XBL demo the other day (too poor to pre-order), and it pretty much lived up to all my expectations. Leagues beyond Modern Warfare 2. With the huge maps and building destruction, the strategic possibilities are almost endless. You'll end up having to scrounge for different cover almost every time you enter the fray, because the level legitimately changes COMPLETELY over the course of the battle.

Out today, currently downloading on Steam because there was NO DAMN PRE-LOAD!

But it's okay, because I'm downloading between 1-1.4 MB/s

My Steam name is Shralla. I didn't get a chance to play on PC last night, but I also picked it up on Xbox 360 (not my money!) because I have a bunch of friends who are getting it on 360. Plus I think I'm going to enter that 4v4 Squad Rush tournament that Gamestop is having.
