I'm pleased that JL is coming back, but I have rock bottom expectations. I guess I'll be viewing it for the same reason as the crossover Arrowverse shows. The spectacle, not the substance. I hope I'm wrong and it turns out to be great, but if BvS is any indication then it's just going to be a yawnfest that takes itself far too seriously.

I tell you what though, the Snyder fanboiism on another forum I frequent is nauseating. Seems to be up there with the Nolan fanboys. At least Nolan is a fairly safe bet for quality product. Snyder is as hit and miss as they come. And the predecessor to JL was one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen but of course they gush over it like it is God's gift to cinema.

I'm very happy for them though. Something they've been crying out for for years is finally coming, but even if (when) it turns out to be trash it's going to be most amusing/nauseating to see them worshiping it.

I just wanna say, I got Disney+ so I could catch the last season of TCW and I am very disappointed in the service overall. I found it dropped frames left and right for no real reason (I'm not even the kind of person who usually notices that kind of thing so when I'm noticing it there's a big problem) and because it barely supports any devices it's a big hassle to get it set up on my TV.

I've never noticed any dropped frames at all when I use it. Strange.

Some Mandalorian S2 news now:

*sigh*

They couldn't help themselves.

They just had to go and bring Fett into it. I'm really disappointed, not really surprised though. I just don't understand the love for this character. He was in the original movies for all of five minutes, did nothing at all interesting or awesome and ended up being defeated by a blind guy who accidentally bumped into him. Why is he so beloved? Why? If anything he would apparently be the kind of person who'd be bumped off at the hands of Jar Jar Binks.

Problem is if they moved all the D+ stuff forward it may very well cause timing/crossover issues. I am fully expecting to see some crossover between the fallout of Black Widow and Falcon and Winter Soldier. Moving all the D+ TV content forward would be a problem as they've timed it all out under the assumption most viewers would have seen and be aware of events already happened in other movies.

Those pauldrons on the suit look a bit weird.

I've been checking out DC Universe. That Harley Quinn cartoon is heinous trash.

Another Oohhboy argument in 3, 2, 1.....

I found season three by far the best of the three.  Having said that, being better than season one and two is far from a great accomplishment.  The big cameos near the end of the season were very disappointing.

Ewan McGregor to reprise role as Obi Wan Kenobi in an untitled Star Wars show on D+

Apparently the show is in a "troubled state" right now due to some creative differences between Disney and McGregor.

59
I'm watching Part 5 of Crisis now and the best lines of the entire crossover are, unsurprisingly, in the Legends ep.

Yeah, Legends is the only one out of the lot of them which doesn't take itself seriously.  It's a dumb show and it knows it.

All the other ones think they are some kind of hard core insightful analytical commentary on society.  I think this is my biggest gripe with them.  If I'm watching a superhero show (especially one from CW for goodness sake) I don't want to be preached at.  I want to switch my brain off and watch superhero nonsense happen.  I think it's the irony that makes them so damn forgettable.   The complete nonsense happening on screen taken so seriously.

What was the surprise cameo?

Ezra Miller's movie Flash

Also, I am still curious about it.  Is it remotely possible to watch it and understand without watching any of the shows?

Oh most definitely.  The only other shows I would suggest you watch for prep would be the Elseworlds crossover from 2018.  Not necessary, but it will shed light on one of the major points from this one.  But by no means do you need to watch all the shows.  In fact in order to save your sanity I would recommend against it.

61
So the crossover is done.  And as expected it was reprehensibly bad.  Thank goodness that's over and done with.
Extra points for a particular surprise cameo though.  Thoroughly enjoyed that.

62
That doesn't look terribly interesting to me.  I'll probably see it one day, but not in any hurry.  Presumably Jake Gyllenhaal will turn up at some point too.

I couldn't stand Rebels. Ezra bugged the ever living hell out of me and based on what I read he never changes. Then there is the obvious "Hidden" Jedi. Oh great the fucking Force. Hot Topic Mandolorian. Noped out around ep3.

He certainly does improve.  Ironically I found him to be by far the least interesting character and have no interest in seeing what happened after the show's conclusion.  But all the other members of the team more than make up for his initial irritating disposition.  I adore every single other character.

Now that I'm done with it I enjoyed it more than Clone Wars, and I loved Clone Wars far more than I expected to.  That's largely due to the setting I think.  I've always found the OT time period far more interesting than the PT/Clone Wars period.  I'd certainly be up for the rumoured new season that's coming.

I'm wondering if there was a bit of a tiff about the horror aspect of it.  Maybe Derrickson wanted to go further into the horror direction but mummy Marvel and daddy Disney pushed back.

Started watching Rebels.

Not about ten episodes in and enjoying it quite a bit thus far. Ezra is quite annoying but he looks like he's starting to sort himself out.  Hopefully that continues.

I very much like the whole crew.  But MVP for me without a doubt is Chopper.  He is probably my favourite droid, equal to BD-1 from Fallen Order. Such sass and attitude is most enjoyable to watch.

66
I reckon it'd be nice to see him let his hair down and have a good time in a role.

Just finished watching the Clone Wars for the first time last night (thank you Disney+).  Holy Damn.  I had no idea it was so good.  So much attention to detail, so many interesting stories, and they actually got Liam Neeson back to voice Qui-Gon.  I do love me some Mr Neeson so I was ecstatic when he turned up completely unexpectedly.

I genuinely felt my heart breaking when Ahsoka was being framed for the bombing, poor girl just trying to prove her innocence when more and more "evidence" keeps piling up against her.  Then when she walked away from the Jedi order.  *sniff*  It was far more emotional than I expected it to be.

Conveniently enough season seven is just over one month away, available on D+ from the 17/02/19.  I am most excited.

D+ has got a fair bit to hold my interest yet.

Sure, Mandalorian was by far the trump card, but now I'm making my way through the Clone Wars series.  Will start Rebels after that.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum is a bit of fun if you like his style.

Will also go through some of the newer Disney releases that I hear are good but I just haven't got around to like Moana.

So early buzz about 9 is mixed.

TLJ was praised by all the advanced screening critics. We know how that turned out. If this is being less than enthusiastically received by said critics then I'm going to consider that a win.  There is also talk that this movie takes a huge dump on TLJ so that alone applause worthy if it turns out to be true.

In all honesty, I'm expecting 2.5 hours of fan service and spectacle.  The story is a write off thanks to its predecessor. There is no chance of salvaging it.  So they'll focus on what they can work with.  I know this is shallow as hell but if I see some epic Jedi (read: Luke) action and some fun dog-fighting then I'll be a happy boy.  If you don't go in expecting a good narrative I think you'll have a good time here.  But time will tell.

Two days to go.

I'm enjoying it a lot.  It's certainly not top shelf stuff in terms of story telling but I enjoy it for what it is.

As for Adrock's advice....  ordinarily I would agree.  No point wasting time watching something you're not enjoying (which is why I bailed from the Arrowverse shows) but I would suggest this is the exception to the rule.  It's really short.  Which in itself is one of the complaints to be leveled at the show, but the silver lining in that is that it's quick to watch and finish so it won't take long to get through.  After season one ends you can decide if you want to bother with season two.

I guess that'd be a neat way to retcon Luke's vanishing at the end of Last Jedi.  It could be some whole new force technique.

The simpsons debacle in a nutshell.

I regularly watch Ashens and I have never seen that video before.  Though I can see why he doesn't tend to make stuff like that any more.
