Assassin's Creed III is the continuation of a franchise that most Nintendo-exclusive gamers have only heard about from their friends. The games in the series really tell two stories simultaneously: the story of an Assassin from hundreds of years ago, and also the story of Desmond, the descendent of said Assassin who is reliving his ancestor's memory via a machine called the Animus.

The previous games in the series, all four of them, took place in Europe. Assassin's Creed began the series in the middle east cities of Jerusalem and Damascus. The Assassin in question was Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad, who had been disgraced and was working to earn back his rank and equipment.

In Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed Revelations, the main character in focus is Ezio Auditore da Firenz, an Italian youth who grows to be a powerful assassin with many enemies. 

With Assassin's Creed III, the story moves to a new continent and a new era: The New World during the American Revolutionary War.

In the new installment, players control a Native American assassin named Connor via Desmond's memory. Unlike previous Assassin's Creed games which had the player climbing incredibly tall cathedrals and other buildings in exotic European locations, Assassin's Creed III has you hiding in the American cities of Lexington and famous battlefields such as Bunker Hill. Instead of fighting powerful Italian families, you're dodging gunfire and other advanced weaponry. The game features such notable revolutionaries as Benjamin Franklin and George Washington.

The game will be a multiplatform effort, but for those wondering how Ubisoft will be taking advantage of the features that Wii U offers, look no further than the Wii U GamePad screen. The GamePad will show a larger and more expansive map than the other editions of the game. In addition, the touch screen will allow quick access to weapon changing, even mid-combat.

In addition, the game will feature multiple multiplayer modes even on Wii U. It is unknown if these modes will be playable online in the Wii U version.

The Assassin's Creed series is known for it's impressive stealth gameplay, amazing visuals, and compelling story which ranges from science fiction to historical fiction. From all appearances, the latest installment in the series keeps up these trends and even takes them to new heights. The game features a new engine titled Anvil Next. The Anvil Next engine was built from the ground up for Assassin's Creed III and from the screenshots and trailers, it delivers the goods.

Assassin's Creed III releases on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 30, 2012. No Wii U launch date has been announced yet, but it seems likely that the game would come out near the launch of the console.

I think the article may have mis-stated. It seems, 97% of teens surveyed play videogames, not 90%. The other percentages quoted appear accurate.


But apart from that, TJ, your "LOL" seems unwarranted and too dismissive to me. What did you think of the substance of the article?

I thought the article was nice. The title was clickbait, but the actual article was nicely written.
