Monster Hunter spin-off stays at the top, while Nintendo takes the second and third spots.

In this week's Media Create sales charts, Capcom's Monster Hunter Diary Poka Poka Ailu Village for the PSP remains at the top spot with 88,405 copies sold for a total of 344,480 copies sold. Nintendo, however, captured the second and third spots with two Wii titles. Wii Party came in at second with 55,837 copies sold for a total of 915,570 copies sold. Metroid: Other M debuts in the third place with 45,398 copies sold in its first four days of sales. Metroid titles typically fare relatively poorly in Japan, and Nintendo's advertising push was unable to break the trend.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 appears in the top ten once more with 11,933 copies sold for a total of 807,536 copies sold to date. Art Academy follows it with 10,248 for a total of 159,007 copies sold.

Level-5's Inazuma Eleven 3 sold 10,022 copies sold, with the title racking up a grand total of 820,739 copies sold.

The Media Create top 20 follows.

Despite being another not-so-desired bridge title, Wii Party is racking up sales. Wonder if that moment will continue stateside.  :D
This is where I would write something witty or funny if I had any ideas.

Wii Party is going to do huge business in the States.  I think it actually looks quite fun, but I have a thing for simple, quirky, inventive games that don't take 50 hours to slog through.  This is one of those titles that a mom or dad strolling through the aisles looking for a game will snatch up instantly.  Can't wait to see it outsell some AAA-title on the HD consoles and hear everyone pant and moan.

Eh, I think Wii Party will be another Wii Music. Blasted by critics, and a couple million in sales over many months. It isn't going to reach the skyrocketing success of the other titles. But I guess you never know.

I disagree. Wii Party has a reason for people to buy it and the hands-on impressions from Eurogamer were very positive (it stands out from the crowd with its superior quality). Wii Music was just "make music or don't, we don't care", Wii Party has a specific use.

If Nintendo is able to convey to people who don't pay attention to the gaming media that Wii Party is the new Mario Party it will do very well.

I'm not sure. This is three years after Mario Party 8, there have been so many party games... That's the main reason I don't think it's going to reach the numbers of the other Wii Series, because of over-saturation. No matter how good it may be, people may have already had their fill.

It's hard to say though. I'm definitely not saying it isn't a possibility that it will be a massive seller, because I know the power of the Wii brand. Really, I can think of reasons for both outcomes so whichever one happens I'm not going to be surprised.
