I'm glad there's no voice chat. I've been playing PvZ Garden Warfare recently and after hearing what some people say in such a lighthearted game, I've taken to muting voice chat immediately when I get in a game. Basically put, I don't want to talk with random people in games anymore, at all. Destiny's initial implementation got it perfect. You can talk with your friends or other people you have chosen to play with, otherwise you hear sweet silence. Hopefully, if Splatoon has in-match voice chat, it'll be similar to Destiny's implementation.

Indigo is where it's AT. For serious, getting any other Cube color is like buying comnunism.

And no one likes comnunism.

I really should get a job at one of these research firms one day. Look at sales prices for about an hour, BS out some report, and get paid for it.

Someone's gotta be paying for those commercials.

Didn't Nintendo buy Warp Pipe, or was that just some random rumor I heard?

Missle Command = Probably am buying. Seriously, Missle Command with the touch screen could be the greatest thing since ... something else that was great.

I won't believe it until I see it.   This is the kind of technology that is often talked about but rarely ever does it see real implementation (see: municipal WiFi).  Daisy chaining requires significantly more complex routing code on each DS.  Complexity == time + space == money.

You know, it could just be very simply software based. DS1 is in the middle. DS2 and DS3 are in range of 1, but not each-other. DS1 sends a message. DS2 and DS3 get it. DS2 sends someting in responce. DS2 sends to DS1 and DS3, but notices that DS3 is out of range, So it sends a special tag over to DS1 that tells it send the message to DS2. No need for any fancy hardware.

I think you'll really enjoy it, even if it's just as a single-player game, and you haven't played the original.

Maybe because the original didn't have single-player?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Fun Multi-player Games?
« on: September 24, 2004, 12:15:48 PM »
Hmm, you got a problem with Malmsteen? I'll help you either way. Even if Yngwie still rocks.

Wario Ware, Inc: Mega Party Game$ - Great if you can get your friends to put some time into it and get to learn the games - it's nothing less than pure fun after that point.

Kirby Air Ride: Most will disagree with me, but me and my friends have logged hours on this game. Good stuff.

Super Smash Bros: Melee - Goes without saying.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System - A great, overlooked 3rd person shooter with a damn good multiplayer mode.

Timesplitters 2: Only rivaled by Goldeneye for FPS multiplayer fun. Single player lacks though - but that's not what you asked for.

Super Monkey Ball 1/2: Target's better in Monkey Ball 1, as well as the level designs. Everything else's better in Monkey Ball 2.

Has it been confirmed that the DS will not be a victim of connectivity? Cause I could see the touch-screen as fufilling the sparce quote by Iwata.

The Blockbuster where I'm near seems quite up to date ... they had at least 10 copies of Mario Golf (5 boxes on the shelf) they were all up to date, but back at home the Blockbuster doesn't even carry Gamecube games ... it makes me sad.

General Chat / Prog
« on: July 11, 2003, 12:48:42 PM »
Rhapsody = power metal, f00.

So ... prog you say? Dream Theater's my favorite band also. But in the genre of Prog I also like Queenscryche, Stratovarius (power prog), Liquid Tension Experiment, Fates Warning, Green Carnation, Porcupine Tree (I consider the pre IA albums light prog), Opeth (prog with death vocs), Symphony X, and some other bands that I forget about right now

In reply to all the replies to my post, what I meant was if the water was transparent, they would have needed to put all kinds of things under it so the overworld didn't look completely barren. They'd need to put reefs, fish, etc, etc.

I like that water a lot better than the water they used in Wind Waker ... I feel it should have been used ... although it would probably be extremely taxing for the cube to run all those transparency effects.

And I'd have to agree with the person above me. Next oddest isnt really a sidequest, but I like to piss off the chickens in OOTs Koriki (or whatever) Village and see how long I can stay alive without being hit by a killer demented chicken of death.

Also, when I walked into my local EB Games to pick up my Zelda presale disk, it was PACKED with advertisements about this disk. I counted 5 advertisments. That's more than all the other advertisments put together.

Nintendo Gaming / OoT and Master Quest Discussion
« on: February 14, 2003, 08:58:32 AM »
I've just played my SHINY NEW BONUS DISK for 30 minutes, pretty much just reliving the glory of OOT **pets golden copies of OOT and MM**. I haven't noted any slowdown. The load for the start screen isnt as bad as people try and make it seem. It's barely there. The save time is pretty long though, so you won't find yourself saving quite as often as in OOT. Master Quest is fun, and the new movies are pretty cool. The controls are fine, and I haven't noted really any problem yet. The C-Stick works just as good as the C-Buttons ever did. The only problem I had for a little while was wanting to use C-Up for an item, when its C-Down. It's all together a great game, and you CANNOT PASS THIS UP when it is FREE!
