Title: Disney"s Magical World Help
Post by: Fatty The Hutt on April 12, 2014, 08:29:08 PM
I think my game might be broken.
I have to help the Chancellor find the King's "Card". I can't find it anywhere.
At the same time, a girl has asked for a Mickey ears hat. I have now had two of them made but can not seem to give them to her. Whenever I talk to her, she just says she can't wait to see what I come up with.

I have tried everything I can think of. Nothing is advancing me in the game.

Any help?

Hey Fatty.

Note the colored diamond next to her requested Mickey Headband. Mine was a red diamond.
You need to give her the correct colored headband in order for her to give you her prize, the card the Chancellor's looking for.

Thanks, Phil.
Goddammit. I knew it would be something simple. But really, I am pretty sure the game has never to this point informed me that diamond corresponded to colour for a favour request.
Game is kinda pissing me off. It's too linear so far.
At least I will be able to advance now.

Yeah, I bought her a purple headband, and I didn't understand why she wouldn't accept it. It was only until I noticed the diamond next to her specified item that I got that done.

After the prologue stickers have been collected, the game becomes a lot more open thankfully. You're still essentially in what is the tutorial.

well, I'll keep at it. Game is quite charming and fun for a Disney fan like me.
One other minor gripe: I wish I could toggle the plaza music or that it would change occasionally, like Animal Crossing. It it quite repetitive by now.

Well, I'm glad it all worked out.

It did work out. The game opened up a lot and I played the **** out of it constantly for a goodly while. Then I was done. Might go back sometime. It was really fun. I even considered investing in some of the DLC.

If you haven't played this month, the Halloween and skeleton items are now available. Some will be at the shop and others can be given by residents for favors. So it's given the game a bit of new life for me.

I'm a pretty big Disney fan. Would you recommend this game over Fantasy Life? I don't think I want to get both as I also plan to get the new "non-Harvest Moon" Harvest Moon game and that will probably be more than enough of a fill on the life-sim/adventure genre for me for the next 6-8 months.

from what I can tell, Fantasy Life is a LOT deeper and more sophisticated than the Disney game, so it depends on what you are looking for. The Disney game has fairly decent fan service but it does get a bit repetitive and the music is disappointing and lacks variety. And you can tell it is aimed squarely at the younger crowd. That said, I enjoyed the relatively easy gameplay and the fun of juggling tasks and making incremental progress at my own pace. Fantasy Life seems much "meatier" as a game, though, so maybe that's your main choice while you keep your eyes open for a deep discount on the Disney title.

Full disclosure, I have not played Fantasy Life and have only read a couple of previews and seen a couple of the videos. I have decided to try and remain spoiler-free from this point on. Game looks tits, tho.

That confirms my initial impressions on both games. I'll take your advice and watch for a deal on Disney MW. I'm a huge Disney nostalgia fan but I don't think I'm big enough to go for a game without as much "meat" as a Harvest Moon/Rune Factory/Fantasy Life title. Maybe pick it up when it goes under $20 if I have the spare cash some time next year.

As a Russian speaker myself, I must state that this post is incredibly offensive even for a Russian.
