Mafia 79: Nintendo of America Power Struggle - Day 4
« on: March 14, 2019, 11:59:58 AM »
The masses are getting restless. As the losses pile up for the Townies, the crowd has turned its rage on nickmitch. Meanwhile, Doug Bowser takes out stevey, only to walk into an ambush from the mafia who reveal him as ThePerm.

Day 3 Results

Nickmitch, the Townie, was killed by the vote.
Stevey, the Townie, was killed by the Killer.
ThePerm, Doug Bowser the Killer, was killed by the Mafia.

Because I’m going to be out of town for a wedding this weekend and don’t know if I’ll be able to get on Saturday, Day 4 will end Sunday, March 17 at noon Eastern. I’m really sorry for all the delays in this game, I should have planned this out better.

Chibi robo looks blankly at the carnage, then takes out his toothbrush to clean up.

No happy points appear as he scrubs.

Here's a happy point: vote Decoyman

Photo Finder and Zip Lash were **** anyways. Mop's Cat seems to think they're innocent but I disagree and I've felt that way for a long time.

I might be the only user on these forums who actually has played Photo Finder. Perhaps it has give me Stockholm Syndrome and prevented me from doing what I really have not wanted to do. But as a fan of the NEW 3DS un-XL, I suppose that I too must Vote Decoyman

Lord knows I'm trying.

We're down to nine players. 3 are mafia, 3 are regular townies and 3 have a role of some sort. Who's who? Glad you asked. After some night prowling and false leads because of those tricky laser dots, I feel pretty certain in declaring Decoyman, Lucario and MASB as the three mafia members we need to take out for victory. I think Decoyman's late MASB vote on Day 3 was him covering his bases in case MASB was hit by the killer. That way, he'd look innocent if MASB then turned up as mafia. We can get this day done fast with a majority vote and make Insanolord's life miserable by having to actually keep hosting this game and new days. Everybody wins! Except the mafia although they could also help vote themselves out to speed things along and help in ruining Insanolord's day to partially win that way.

Now I vote for Decoyman
Protip: use the vote Decoyman wording. I usually do a page search for specific words in that order when I do vote tallies in my games.

My theory is that outside of the godfather, who I suspect would be Decoyman, the Mafia is composed entirely of inactive players. This is a really big mafia move around here so I need to explain myself: Outside of the Ace Attorney game I hosted where thatguy basically had control of the town from the start there has never been a perfect game for the mafia here, at least that I'm aware of. Even than, in that game Insanolord, BeautifulShy, and to a lesser extent Mop it Up were all widely suspected of being mafia but the town was never able to come to an agreement on who to vote for in that game.

This game is different. I'm usually able to see patterns or inconsistencies with players that are in the Mafia and piece things together from there, even without an investigative ability, and I know I'm not alone in this, but generally the town's greatest asset has been the fact that eventually one of the Mafia members will slip and once that happens we can reasonably deduce who their partners are from there.

This game has not been like that at all. Everyone I've had reason to suspect of anything has generally turned up dead in the morning, likely because they're townies who managed to make themselves look suspicious enough for the killer and the Mafia to try to eachother off, and thus, this game has turned into a messy bit of infighting amongst the town. Nobody has sent me a PM or anything claiming to be the doctor and so because of that I can only conclude that he's inactive as well, which means I probably don't have much time left with this game.

It's been rough, but I think the town finally has a path to victory. I can only hope it isn't too late.

There's never been a day at NOA like today. President-elect Doug Bowser, found to be a serial killer?! He killed three people and was responsible for Billy's death? Why? He had it all. He was the next NOA president. On the path to Nintendo immortality! Now, all for nothing.

Everyone keeps saying they didn't see it coming. Neither did I, but in retrospect, it all makes a kind of crazy sense. Lately, in business meetings, I noticed his eyes take on a red glow. Was he taken over by a spirit? Is Smash Ultimate crossing over into real life? That'll mean a recall by the FTC, I bet.

In a temporary shuffle, Cindy Gordon takes over Doug's position as SVP of Sales & Marketing. My old Konami boss Marc Franklin is taking her title of VP of Stragetic Communications. And I'm taking Franklin's job as Senior Director of PR. Near as I can tell, I do the same stuff as always, just a pay bump. That enabled me to give best friend Krysta my old job of Senior PR Manager. Yay! Course, she wishes it hadn't been over the spilled blood of Billy, but I told her he would have wanted some good to come out of all this. :)

Now, I'm left with who to vote for in this horrible contest. I've been led astray twice. Even by best friend Krysta to vote against nickmitch. Makes me wonder if she has her own agenda, but I'll choose to think the best of her unless something else turns up.

I'm going to go with Steefosaurus. He's been pretty quiet. Is he behind the demonic possession of our once beloved Bowser? I'm don't know for sure, but I have to make my own decisions from now on.
