I'm in this weird frame of mind where I can't wait for football season to start but also don't really want summer to disappear so quickly.  I guess I'll be good if August goes by at a very normal pace.

My frame of mind, coming off my team winning the Superbowl (hee hee, that's fun to write), is different than normal.  This is the first time a team I've specifically followed as an adult has won a title.  Usually the start of the season is full of anticipation.  "How well will we do this year?  Is a championship a possibility?"  I'll think about the draft picks and wonder if any of them will be some historic player for the franchise that helped them win a title.  Well now that's actually happened which is kind of weird.  But because I'm coming off such a great season my approach to this season is much more relaxed.  Yeah, I want to win another title but I don't NEED to.  Missing the playoffs or having a losing season would be really lame but not the idea of not repeating as champs doesn't really bother me.  There is a nervous tension that I normally have that isn't there.

I'm actually at this point a little more interestd in seeing how OTHER team's draft picks will turn out like Manziel and Clowney.

My fantasy draft's in an hour and a half and I'll have Madden 3.5 hours after that, so I'm really in the mood for football tonight. Gotta listen to the RFN football special in there somewhere too. I'm really getting excited.

Finally. Preseason is over! Can't wait to watch Aaron Rodgers stiff arm Richard Sherman en route to a 60-yard TD scramble on opening week!  :cool;

I bet fantasy owners who used an early round pick on Wes Welker are kicking themselves right now. He just got a four game ban.

He went relatively late in my draft, so I don't know that the guy who took him's in too much trouble. He could also be a really valuable stash if his owner in your league overreacts and drops him over this.

Did not realize there was 2 Monday games.  Seahawks vs Packers is the opener tonight.  Might be interesting.  I also did not realize how many games where at 1pm EST.

Tough loss. It was never going to be easy. Packers defense looked iffy, their tacking was pathetic with a couple of huge 3rd down penalties that bit us in the ass big time. The injuries were typical for a Packer season, hoping that none of them are too serious. Offense wins games. Defense wins championships. The Seahawks are fun to watch.

my team doesn't even know what a Superbowl is let alone how to get there.

I only periodically checked the Packers Game and I have Neal on Twitter so yeah.  I feel for the Packer fans.  I had to make sure the Titans weren't playing the Seahawks this year.

Yeah I saw that.  A little more worried about the Colts the Sunday before.

Looking at the Browns Schedule.  That's after a Bye week that's probably going to be rougher than it should be.

In an ironic twist the Browns vs Ravens game is before a bye and Titans vs Ravens is after a Titans Bye.

And with all the young talent on the Browns roster, if they're going to start to come together it'll be right around that time.

After a long, strung-out process that ended extremely disappointingly, it's now looking like Josh Gordon may not be gone the full season and could be back as soon as week 2. I swear, if the media gets my hopes up yet again and it falls through again I'm going to go on some kind of rampage.

The Browns, who were down 27-3 at the half, lost their starting running back and best (only?) pass catching weapon, then scored 24 unanswered before the Steelers won it on a last second field goal. I don't know what the hell to make of this.

Very exciting game. I thought the Browns were going to pull it off. I was not expecting that kind of comeback. Elsewhere in the NFL, the Bears lost! Now my Facebook news feed has blown up with "Is it hockey season yet?"

The Browns got the ball with 2 minutes left and I said this was the opportunity for Hoyer to make a statement and say "This is my team." and then not only didn't he get them points but he went 3 and out, giving Pittsburgh the time to drive down and get the winning field goal. A very disappointing end to a game that was way better than anyone thought it'd be after that first half.

My prediction: Broncos vs Seahawks again.

Very small sample size, but it does look that way. Denver gets it almost by default, because I don't think anyone in the AFC besides New England would have a chance of taking them out, and they couldn't even beat Miami.

I'm glad Titans don't have to go against Denver.  Thought I thought they would since Indianapolis is playing them tonight.  If the Titans can clean up on the penalties I think they have a good chance of doing really well with this years schedule. I don't think Superbowl well but, I'm thinking Play-Off well.

So I guess the Vikings have decided to go back to trolling Crimm this year based on what I've heard about that preseason.

I'm telling you, that Bridgewater guy? Long lost descendant of Paul Bunyan.

Not to mention that it was Colston of all players that fumbled. Wouldn't expect that from him.

So here we go today, Browns vs. Saints, me vs. Nickmitch. Let's hope it goes something like it did last time the two teams played, 4 years ago, when the Browns won 30-17.

The guy I'm playing against in my fantasy league has Drew Brees as his QB. That pick six really helped! Hopefully there is more where that came from.
