The worst thing you can hear when you turn on the radio

...is "you've just wasted another perfectly good hour listening to Car Talk." Because you know you've missed the only thing on radio worth listening to.

Car Talk.

NPR program where listeners call two MIT educated mechanics about their automotive questions, are mocked, and then answered "usually incorrectly."

The worst thing you can hear when you turn on the Radio is a toss up between Fall Out Boy, Lindsay Lohan and the sounds of pigs being slaughtered.

But the pigs being slaughtered station is my favorite!

I've slaughtered pigs before. Skinning them is disturbing.

Truth.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

I will respectfully disagree, but that's because we have a great local public radio station here (that I volunteer for in the spirit of full disclosure). NPR plays St. Paul Sunday on Sunday Mornings, which I love, but I switch over to my CDs on Sunday afternoons when Car Talk comes on.

I like listening to NPR, but I when I moved from Monterey, CA (which has a really well-funded station) to Lincoln, NE (which doesn't), I find that I get more jazz than anything else.

Now, I like me some jazz as much as the next guy, but the reason I listen to NPR is for the news and information. So, when the jazz comes on, THAT'S when I switch over to my CDs.

CarTalk is good stuff, all the way down to their legal representation: the law offices of Dewey Cheatham & Howe. XD
