Okay so its a little strange but as you must have seen by now so am I. My main reasoning is because all the people I have talked to (ones off the Internet as well) have told me to get it. True love to get it is to strong a word perhaps "feel that it would be more correct and would add to my growing list of nintendo exclusives" would be more appropriete. I still have reservations about the game but that little annoying person inside me is desperately hoping this Donkey Kong game will be different. Still can you suggest to me a nice shiny newish game costing £15 ($30) for me? Please?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:What type of games should the Rev launch with?
« on: April 09, 2005, 04:27:57 AM »
All of you have said make a new X, make a new Y. I think Nintendo should create an entirely new franchise for the system. It might backfire terribly or it will really catch the attention of the casual buyer as well as the ######## gamers.

If, as I think Nintendo will, they make new games to franchises they should make a new mario and a new SSBM and, at least very soon after the launch, they will need to bring out a new Zelda.

As well as this it should team up with creative assembly to create an exclusive Total war (or warrior) for the launch. However that will depend on how well Shogan performs on the DS. Anywho Nintendo need to get some more third party exclusives for the next generation launch because other wise Sony and microsoft will have snapped them all up. (If I am getting a little off topic I appologise it does seem more like general advise the more I reread it).

I would love to get Jungle beat but I do not have the money. I only have about £15 (approx $30) what can I get that is fun? my life has become bordem stewed for 8 hours with extra cabbage. I spent the rest of my money on my summer holiday (to Maroco). And I have a little saved for Legend of Zelda.

It was not that I disliked 2D zelda they are great (espesially 4 swords) my point was that if you desperatly want a 3D game and you start a 2D game with a similer genre then you will get no enjoyment out of that 2D. My example Harvest Moon AWL 2, sim farm. Mario 128, Mario advance (1,2 or 3) They are just not the same are they. No point. Links awakening is good. (so is A Link to the Past) and Four swords.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat? Or do you all ready have it. I have never played it but people say it was great. In my book there is no point in playing 2D Zelda wishing it was 3D.

The battle scenes will be nice but the diplomacy will be difficult on such a small screen. It was hard enough on a 17" flatscreen. However the shogan game will be difficult to pull off because people will be compareing it to the computer version as I am now. It would work better if creative assembaly created a totaly new game like in the English (or American) civil war. That would fit in better as then you have two people fighting over a small space. Also the gameplay could be changed to be more approprete for guns. Mind you if companies listened to their customers then they would be churning out much better games not rehashed tosh like Mario Party 6 by gad.

All of you guys are really down on this game. However I believe it might prove to be quite good. I grew up on sonic and haveing played almost every sonic and neary all spin offs I know this one will do well and the enjoyment levels will break all scales. Sega has been around too long to make foolish mistakes (save only for Sonic 3D blast, that sucked). The guns and vehicles will provide more options for gameplay and improve the quality of the game. The vehicles may not be cars but jets or rockets which would improve shadows speed in the same way as a horse for link or a yoshi for mario. Now I hate to imply that you are being fanboyish but I think the reason you are dismissing this game is because it is sega. And you now what Nintendo is going down a similer route to sega and (God Forbid) you may one day wake up and play Zelda or mario on a PS4 or something. plus lionessjenna dont be so silly.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Got shafted again...and again
« on: April 06, 2005, 10:49:40 AM »
I dont know the true reason but hear are a few popular suggestions:
Third parties hate GC
Sony bribes them
They are all very stupid
Sony and microsoft have "persuaded" the third parties to create exclusives for their consoles
Everyone just hates the gamecube (good example; Lego Star wars is praised as great but if on the gamecube it would be called babyish)

No affence to anyone, but Ive always hated DK games. The controls, graphics and enemies (plus the annoying abysses every where) all forced me to dislike them. Though I really did want to. Really. I have allways thought that the controls were fiddly but the bongos make it sound even harder. All your belly aching about your wrists has now really put me off it. I am very lathargic (I only just keep healthy by eating 1000kcal instead of 2000kcal.) To reiterate a) I have never liked DK b) the controls sound hard and tireing and c) why bother getting some bongos I am never going to otherwise use.

Nintendo might never get back on top but I doubt it will ever go third party. It will always be there driving the market with new inovations (gimmicks to Sony and microsoft fanboys) plus its games like ledgend of Zelda will just about keep it aflout. What do ya think is happening now?

Three??? I've still got the one it came with.Even after four years of button bashing action. Maybe im just lucky. But seriously you should do something about this. Maybe move upstairs? Also why do you need a dehumidifier in winter? In winter it isnt humid.

I personally love cinematics. How ever my freind reads what is being said and stops the characters half way thruogh a sentance which kinda bugs me. I if I could would watch good quality cinematics all the time. But they have to be good graphics otherwise just go watch tv. Its less energetic.

People just dont care about swearing or damage or anything anymore. I blame this on the loss of popularity towards religeon. If people dont care what happens after death then they wont care what they do now. However my parents say I have been posseced by the spirit of my grand father since I wore a tweed suit to school. Parents dont care, so kids dont care and the government doesnt care either. In fact the only people to care are religious freaks (I am not one I just have the mind set of a cool versian of a victorian gentlemen) and the few careing souls that we are at planet gamecube. It is also true that left alone with weapons kids will kill each other. That is why they make games like GTA and why kids go to laser quest. And as usual I have run out of steam half way through a post, Ah hell.

I retract my earlier satement. If you own an Xbox as well your OK. Their hard drive is prety useful. A gamecube with a hard drive? that would be good. =D

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Where did all the Gamers Go?

The mature = xbox/PS2 is worse here in the UK because we have a rating system based on age. All the zelda series are 3+ and metroid only just scraped 12+. This means that anyone who's over 20 is immedietly put off. However a lot of my friends haveing seen my nintendo consoles have converted to Gamecube. This was also because they got sick of swear words in GTA and tired of the length of FF.

Nintendo's main problem in my opinion is they are failing to create new games. They rely too much on 1st and 2cd party games and lose the 3rd party. Also they have almost exhausted the Zelda series (did anyone care what wind waker was about?) and it is now failing to attract the comman gamer. Metroid is still good though (except it would be better in 3rd person). Another good example of the failing nintendo is Starfox Armarda. This was fun but had some fundermental flaws. 3-4 hours is two short and the "ace pilots" are actually petty rubbish.

However I'm getting off topic. In short the reason that nintendo is loseing gamers is that they are useing tried and tested methods in a time that exciting, new games will control a market.

Short little point, to those gamers who own more than 1 or 2 consoles shame on you (by one or two I mean PS2 or Xbox and Gamecube) you are wasting money which would help nintendo develop better games.

Stuff the new game. I'm scared that Total War will change its orientation completely. Owning all of the total war games and eagily awaiting another I will be devestated if it all chandes. If this happens I vow to go on a killing spree and kill at least 20 people from each country before being caught. That is after gaining diplamatic immunity somehow does the education secutory have that? Ah hell!
