My gates are going to be open for the next hour or two. I think I have most of you on my friend list, but my code is SW-3242-4617-4615. I've spent the last few days really working on the construction and path, so take a quick tour and let me know what you think.

I've had luck with this site today:

https://app.animalcrossingexchange.com/turnips/traders

I usually stay away from the people who are buying for over 500 because the lines are too long, but twice I've gotten in and sold for over 450 in under 20 minutes.

Later in the week seems to help as well.

This calculator doesn't seem to account for if you haven't bought the turnips on your own island. Or is that the same as if it's your first time buying?

It doesn't matter where you bought them, it matters what your island was selling them for. You need to put in your own island's price because that affects what trends the nooks will buy at for the rest of the week.

Different note, has anyone that's unlocked expanded residential services/townhall received the "assess 3 fossils" Nook Miles + task? I'm thinking it goes away after the first few days, and I'm addicted to Nook miles so I've been saving my fossils.

I've received and completed this task several times. My experience has been that they usually give it to you at the beginning of the day with a multiplier, I haven't ever gotten stuck because I've already assessed the fossils on my island from that day. Definitely not something worth hoarding fossils over.

So what are the buying prices at this morning?

I'm at 104, so not that great. Looking to get in under 100 at least.

Hey I've got turnips selling for 130 bells. My dodo code is LML25.

If you can spare some bamboo to return the favour that would be appreciated.

I'm looking to offload some of my island's native fruit today in preparation for Turnips tomorrow if someone is open to me coming to their town to sell that would be great.

Apples are my native fruit, I have cherries and oranges as well so if you have other fruits I can take home that you can spare I'd leave you any of those.

Also if people are interested I made a bunch of designs in New Leaf that I've turned into QR codes, they are all hockey jerseys and the N64 logo, I guess I can post them here as well.

I'm too busy and riddled with children to replay this along with you all, but I wish I could.

I'll share this story instead.

Pokemon Red and Blue came out when I was 10 years old. Pretty much the perfect age to be obsessed with it for the next 10 years.

Pokemon Black and White came out a few months before I got married. I had 7 groomsmen, since we had all grown up playing Pokemon together I thought it would be cool if I got each of them a version of Black or White as a gift for being in my wedding party.

Some of the guys were lapsed gamers, or not really into handheld games anymore, so they didn't have a DS of their own... So I scoured some local online classifieds and bought 3 used DS Lites on the cheap (in good condition) as well as 8 copies of Pokemon Black and White. A month before the wedding we were all together and I gave them all their copies of Black and White. Everybody was excited, and the three guys who didn't have DS's were happy but were saying, "now we need to pick up a DS so we can play with you guys!" Then I pulled out 3 DS's and gave them to those guys and they lost their mind. I had a lot of fun giving these to my friends.

All next month we were a Pokemon cult. We played and traded each other every chance we got, and on the wedding day, we all had our DS's in our suit jackets all day. There is a lot of waiting around while you get ready, prepare for the ceremony, take pictures and wait for the reception, so any downtime we all popped out Pokemon and played together.

Not everyone stuck with the game all the way to the end, but most of them did, and in the very least the first couple of months were a pretty special experience. I hadn't been that invested in a Pokemon game since Gold and Silver and had a great time with it. I always appreciated the bold move of going with all new Pokemon at the beginning of the game. It really lets you bond with the new Pokemon instead of relying on the old familiars.

Reading through some of the posts in this thread has reminded me of some of the things I love about this game and brought me back to that experience around what was already a really special time when I got married, so thanks!

Lol. Yes actually reviewing my posting history shows that I did make a bunch of posts when I was playing Animal Crossing.

I will get the new Animal Crossing when it comes out, but as of yet Smash is the only online game I'm playing on Switch.

I did add everyone in this thread, unless I missed someone unintentionally. Not that it seems to matter as the matchmaking is so bad that even when I see someone else is online, and playing smash I can't communicate with them to set up a match.

Did I have you on WiiU?

I had you on my Wii friend list I'm pretty sure. I didn't have a WiiU.

I think we also played some Animal Crossing... I always make hockey jersey designs for the clothes if you remember.

Hey I've added everyone in the switch friend code thread, but I mostly just play smash online.

I can only really play after midnight EST. I used to be good once but then i had so many kids. Looking for some friendlies to try out new characters and play styles.

Add me if that sounds good to you:
SW-3242-4617-4615

Edit: So after some people adding me on their friend list, I now have to reckon with how garbage the Smash match making is. Is the only way to fight your friends to create an arena, and then have that person join it... but without talking to them because there is no system to system messaging? I can't just send someone who is online a request to fight? Wtf.

I only really play Smash Bros online.

I'm going to add everyone in this thread.

I just unlocked the qr code sewing machine. I've imported some cool designs but would like to post some of my own, I'm just not sure how to go about taking the created qr code from the ds and posting it online... say in a forum like this one. Can anyone help me out?

I've wasted so much time and increased my hockey jersey collection. Here's what I've got so far.

1. Toronto Maple Leafs - Doug Gilmour
2. New York Rangers - Mark Messier
3. Chicago Blackhawks - Patrick Kane
4. Boston Bruins - Bobby Orr
5. Montreal Canadiens - Rocket Richard
6. Detroit Red Wings - Steve Yzerman
7. Philadelphia Flyers - Eric Lindros
8. Pittsburgh Penguins - Sidney Crosby
9. Nashville Predators - Shea Weber
10. Tampa Bay Lightning - Martin St. Louis
11. Colorado Avalanche - Joe Sakic
12. Los Angeles Kings - Dustin Brown

I'm working on a Gretzky Oilers Jersey and was thinking of doing a sharks or hurricanes jersey next, I'm open to requests though.

And thank you so much to Racht and whoever else came into my town and planted SO MANY FRUIT TREES! I was pretty pumped today when I harvested all this fruit I had never seen before.

Hah, no prob. I did do a few to help you out, but someone else must have really come through to help you out. :)

If it's not too much of a burden, think you could do an away Predators jersey? Mike Fisher #12. ;)

Do you want the yellow or white? I can make some modifications to the Weber jersey to make it a Fisher jersey no problem. I already modified my blue Gilmour jersey to a white Wendel Clark. I have no problem doing requests I like creating pixelated approximations of the logos this is what makes the game fun for me. I'm looking forward to when I can make custom furniture. Also once hockey is over I will turn my attention to football and baseball as is my custom. I want to make a Colby Rasmus Jays jersey and get some sweet mullet hair to complete the outfit.

I've finished that Flyers jersey, it's on display in my Able Sisters. If I have my town gate open and close the system, can someone still visit my town? I think I'm going to see Man of Steel tonight and I'll go online after that. I think I'm going to leave my town gate open while I'm at the movies, so feel free to give me a try at any point this evening.

Do you think you could do a Philadelphia Flyers one for me? It seems simple enough, but I'm not artistic at all. I've got almost every kind of fruit and other things I could trade for it.

I've got a Lindros one that I'm working on, I'll let you know when that's done. Any player you want in particular?

I just spent a some time making designs for some hockey jerseys. I've got the original six all covered (Chicago and Detroit were quite challenging) I think I'm going to do some other classics, like the Gretzky Oilers jersey I made in city folk, then move onto football and baseball. If you're interested in picking up any of my designs send me a pm and we can set up a time for a visit. I'm still looking for a watering can and fruits other than cherries, apples and peaches.

The shop changes its wares every day, so a shovel will end up being sold again there eventually.

Would anyone like to visit my town? I have oranges, and I would like some other fruit.
I've built a second bridge, and now I am trying to get a fountain built just in front of town hall.

I certainly would! I saw that you were online just now but your gates were not open. I went to mjafyx's town instead. Now I've got cherries and peaches. I plan on checking in almost every night, but I'm still very early in the game and haven't unlocked very much yet. Thanks to mjafyx for the visit.

Hey! I've added everybody who posted their code in this thread and will check in later to add more.

My Code: 4167-5352-7530
Town: Brindol
Fruit: Peaches

I just downloaded and started playing so I don't have much to offer quite yet. I really like to make custom designs of sports teams jerseys and stuff so if that appeals to you pop into my town in a week or so and check that out.

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing Help
« on: October 08, 2012, 07:41:21 PM »
So I recently got my wife into playing Animal Crossing City Folk with me. She's having a lot of fun which is great because I wasn't sure if she would get into it or not. The thing is I deleted my old town and now I'm depressed about it. I lost all my designs, and I even lost all the people I added to my friend list. So i've got a request. I went to a number of peoples towns on these forums, and it is possible that some of you fine people still have some of my old designs kicking around. The ones I really want back are my hockey jerseys. Especially the Steve Y Redwings and Gretsky oilers jersey as they were tough to make. If anyone at all can find it in their heart to indulge me and check out their town for my designs I would be forever in your debt. Also since we just started a new town the only fruit we have is cherries and I don't have a shovel or axe yet. So if anyone is interested in helping me out in that way I wouldn't say no either.

If you're able to help me out that would be awesome.
My new friend code is 4728-5793-4817

I was really trying not to end up going on a Leafs rant. But I can't help myself. And now this is happening. The current Leafs team makes me depressed. I feel like I watch every other team get better. Every other team has hot prospects that are the future stars of the league or are signing free agents for absurd sums of money, but they are making serious strides toward building a better team. Toronto has a overwhelmingly terrible history of drafting players that go bust and in recent years haven't been willing to make moves to bring in big free agents. Even in the past when we did bring in free agents we usually overpaid for guys who were at the end of their career and ended up doing jack **** with the team. Historically, we have only really done well when we've had a top 5 goal tender to pull our ass out of the fire.

The Leafs have painted themselves into a corner, and MLSE doesn't really care too much because the corner is full of money. We don't have the cap space to bring in large contracts. Let that sink in for a minute, who the hell is taking up the entire salary cap when we have 1 top six forward on the team. Phaneuf is our highest paid player at 6mil a year (did you just through up a little? because I did) followed by Grabovski at something over 5mil. We take mediocre players, over pay them, and then ask them to over reach themselves and fill roles that they they are not cut out for. Surely this is a recipe for success. Now we're at a point where we're trying to pick up value trades and picks of guys who have been hurt or haven't gotten a chance to take that next step and just hoping that they pan out. There are at least three other teams in our conference that did not make the playoffs who made moves that make them contenders next year. The only reason I'm not on the fire Burke wagon is because I dread the idea of ANOTHER rebuild and ANOTHER 5 years of waiting for draft picks and not making the playoffs.

I know a lot of people say "haha the leafs suck they've sucked for a long time why bother with them?" but it wasn't always like this. I became a leaf fan when Wendel Clark beat the tar out of Marty McSorely in THE CONFERENCE FINALS. I was five years old, the leafs were good and I felt like Wendel was the personification of our team. We were probably one of the hardest teams to face in hockey at that time. I remember facing the flyers being the most physical games I've ever seen. But the leafs then weren't the biggest team, just tough, scrappy, a little dirty (you know Clark loved those elbows) but we could just grind out wins. We were the perfect underdog team and I loved every minute of it. Once Gilmour left the team I felt like we lost that. Nothing against Sundin but he never did it for me like Gilmour and Clark. I will always be a leafs fan, but this whole no playoff hockey thing has gotten under my skin and it doesn't look like that's going to change for some time.

oh look i'm back to depressed again.
