Expensive housing
Annoying council tax
Does not have good international relations. (Due to our wars with france Germany Africa ect)
Games sometimes come out two years after they do in japan.
I await your input. (I'm thinking of applying at cambridge but should I apply for Princeton)

What are you getting at. For immagrants from America, Australia, India, Africa, a lot of asia all have english as a main language so it won't be too strange for them if they move.

Seriously why ask this question? Do you live in the UK and are proud of your country/countries (seeing as the UK is Great Britan and Ireland)? I can't say i would prefer to live in a country because of all the pro's you have provided...

In America, in my experience, we're always taught at a young age how America is the greatest country in the world, and we were so lucky to be born here. And I've always wondered, what's so bad about Europe? Or Canada? Or Australia?
I've been doing a lot of international eBay-ing and other online purchases, and I can't believe how weak the dollar is now compared to what it used to be. It's almost 2:1 against the GBP. The euro started 1:1 with the dollar, but now 1 euro is $1.30. Living in Europe would benefit me at the moment.

Did I mention it's the world's second largest source of porn and warez? Oh, and it's just a missile launch away from London! Come to Germany where people hate the GC because you cannot pirate games on it, where XBox Live is a futile endeavour because nobody has a credit card and where the law enforces a warranty longer than the lifetime of a PS2! And the Döner Kebab is the most popular fast food available!

The UK is England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland (counties Antrim, Derry, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Down and Armagh) not the other 26 counties, I would advise you not to call Ireland part of the UK to anyone from Ireland both (North and South), it's a touchy subject and some even in the six counties will be very annoyed by it even if you didn't mean anything from it, just a heads up!

I am happy where I am. I could live in New Jersey for the rest of my life. But I would like to live in a city, because I hate having to drive everywhere. (Especially since I don't have the money for a new car.) I lived in New York for a short time, and it was so easy to get around, just go outside and hail a cab, or walk to the subway station. In suburbia, you need a car just to drive to the bus stop.
To get back onto the topic (sort of), has anyone here ever been to Edinburgh, SCOTLAND? I've heard that it's very underrated as a tourist destination, and that the people are very friendly. It sounds like a fun place to go.
edit: there was apparently some confusion as to which edinburgh i meant.
