TalkBack / Re: EA Wii U Sports Announcements Coming in July
« on: June 30, 2012, 05:27:54 PM »
cool, i suppose. Definitely couldn't hurt. Personally, i'm much more excited about NBA 2k13, but the Fifa games are always great too, so i'll probably pick that up for Wii U.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Is Nintendo Becoming Lazy?
« on: June 23, 2012, 02:26:06 PM »
Lazy isn't the right word. IMO they might be rushing a lot of their stuff lately. 'Careless' might be closer, but certainly not to that extreme. I agree that they do things how they want, and that was evident with the E3 conference (pretty much from the Revolution announcement - present), but i don't feel like they've left us behind or anything. True, they are trying hard to bring that casual audience over to the Wii U. But i really don't get it when people accuse them of being lazy.

TalkBack / Re: 3DS XL FAQ

I sort of want one... but IMO it doesn't look that great, OG 3DS is sexier/sleeker. And it might actually be TOO big for my liking, as I actually use my 3DS on-the-go. I might bite anyway, when i have some spare cash, because there's lots of games i'd love to play on that screen. It just won't be my primary machine/3DS.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2
« on: June 17, 2012, 09:58:37 PM »
yeah, unless the online is flawless, i really don't want online co-op... that goes for all platformers too, not just Mario.

General thoughts on this game: I'm excited. I know coins/"gold" are the hook, but after reading lots of E3 impressions saying how hard it is, how the good level design is, SMB3 refernces, and a slightly new take on backgrounds (etc.); that's really all I need to hear to be excited for a Mario game, or at least a NSMB game. The coin thing is definitely interesting, and everyone was surprised at how addicting it is, so that'll be a bonus for me (along with any other goodies, i.e. StreetPass, Coin Rush, etc.).

Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 38: Positively Positive
« on: June 17, 2012, 09:27:55 PM »
If you're trying to stay positive, playing Other M seems like a bad idea... I kid, I kid. I'm currently catching up on the E3 podcasts, interesting to hear Nintendo fans with a level head so shortly after the conference(s) :P: .

i think they wanted the Wii U to look boring on purpose, they're obviously going to push the GamePad in your face until our noses bleed. I think they should have made the console look more interesting, at least something that makes it stand out as its own thing, but I sort of understand the thinking.

Also, Jimmy Fallon's impressions are the only thing funny about him, and the only thing he doesn't ruin by breaking out in laughter... which is odd.

intriguing. Grab some attention on the day before everyone else has their conference(s) (not to mention: Ubisoft will have something Wii U related at their conference, wouldn't be surprised if EA did as well), steal the show on the day following. Ninty is taking things serious this year. Also this (via GAF):

Nintendo Gaming / Re: All things Mario Tennis Open!
« on: June 02, 2012, 02:00:49 AM »
I'm really enjoying it. It's not perfect, but fun and addictive, which is really all I'll require from Mario Tennis. Online is hit & miss, I've had some flawless matches and some that slowed to a crawl.

Also, different colored Yoshis ftw.

/generic response Hi welcome to the site.
....

Seriously welcome to the site. :) It can be an awesome community oh a word of advice stay out of the rumor thread right now trust me on this. :)

Welcome to the site Vinniebrock! Oh, and I think Maxi's advice is keen. The rumor thread in the Console forum isn't actually dangerous, but there's a lot of passion-fueled debates that flare up there occasionally, and, well, there are some pretty determined opinions flying about! Myself not excluded!

;D HA, i lurk the Wii U Speculation thread on GAF pretty much all day on my phone. I don't think i have to energy to read/post in two of those threads in one day.

Can't wait. I'm a sucker for a good dungeon crawler, and this sounds amazing. 4 player MP, voice chat, & DLC is all just an awesome bonus for me.

I just joined a short time ago (haven't posted yet), but I've actually been reading NWR features for a long time, and have been listening to RFN for a while as well. It seems like an awesome community for Nintendo fans so i decided to join. Excited to be here :cool;
