The 3DS 10th Anniversary Thread

As an official 3DS ambassador I come bringing good news about the 3DS. Beware the so called "successor" The Nintendo Switch. It is nothing but a false prophet.

Mop it up:
Nothing but crickets in here? Does no one like the 3DS? :(

What a great little system that thing is. Despite its rocky start, it ended up becoming one of Nintendo's best systems, I feel. There's a lot of games on it I enjoyed, and I also didn't have a DS so it opened up a lot for me. As ubiquitous as is the Switch, I kind of miss some of the special features that came from the 3DS being a dedicated handheld.

I still have some more games to play on it, but, if I were forced to choose today, my top ten would probably look something like this:

1. Luigi's Mansion 2
2. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
3. Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon
4. Fantasy Life
5. Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
6. Fire Emblem Awakening
7. Puzzle & Dragons Z / Super Mario Bros. Edition
8. Monster Hunter Stories
9. Super Mario 3D Land
10. Metroid Prime Federation Force

M.K.Ultra:
Great idea Mop! It is the 10th anniversary so a top ten list is apt. Here is mine:

* Mega Man Legacy Collection
* The Legend of Zelda: A Line Between Worlds
* Super Mario 3D Land
* Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy
* Metroid: Samus Returns
* Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
* The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
* Sega 3D Classics Collection
* The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
* Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
As you can see I am a big fan of the stereoscopic 3D. Only my first and last picks did not make use of it. I am one of the few people still buying 3D Blu-rays and think it is the best way to experience video media, second only to VR. So I don't mind wearing glasses or a headset, but to see 3D without them is still magical. It reminds me of when I would see those hologram cards when I was a kid. The 3DS is actually my first Nintendo handheld. I was on team Game Gear back in the day and missed out on the GBA and DS generations of handhelds. I still have a few games on the backlog and wish list but without traveling this past year my playtime on the 3DS has diminished. I find it hard to play a handheld at home when there is a giant TV/Stereo there. So my 3DS and Vita only get played when traveling. Are others the same?
