Probably on the weekend, as I have a part-time gig during the week. But, feel free to adventure together in the meantime!

78
I would say to contact Sony's customer support, but HAHAHAHA. They suck. :(

It's also worth noting that the PS4 also hasn't really had a big Japan-centric game this year outside of Valkyria Chronicles 4. Last year, the PS4 had tons of them, but Japan isn't really the region for God of War or Detroit: Become Human.

Well, a small, little game series that Japan seldom pays attention to called Monster Hunter had a release that was launched this past January in Japan. I don't think it did anything to sales this year, though.  :-\

TalkBack / Re: Go Vacation (Switch) Review

I remember hearing at the time that this was surprising good on Wii, but I never got around to checking it out. Perhaps I'll give it a go here.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I might on the Wii. I'll probably get the Switch version now, just to have it on a system I still regularly use.

I've bought this at launch and have been having a great time online. The single player is a bit of a dud, but it's a seriously good game online.

Although I will say Bowser Jr. and to a lesser extent Waluigi almost ruin this game. Their reach and defensive capabilities greatly improve their opportunity to get an energy advantage and once that happens it's hard to come back from. I've started just refusing games with either of those characters now.

I'm just so disappointed with this game. I can't believe this was my most anticipated game of the summer. Between the imbalanced characters, the way you can just perform trick shots easily to increase your meter with no real penalty, and the lackluster content, I feel like I wasted $60. Will not be paying for Nintendo's online this September if this is how pathetic its games with be online offering-wise.

Had a really fun really with someone online the other day!

"The single-player experience wasn’t great, just consisting of some tournaments and challenges."

It's really unfortunate that Aces has even less stuff for solo players. The only real unlockables are courts. No reason to play tournaments, no mini-games outside of the main story mode or Swing mode, and I miss the jingle, present, and reveal of a new unlockable you got like in Mario Tennis Open.

87
Hmm... Maybe story mode-related stuff like bosses, but that would be the extent of spoilers. And even then, I'm not too concerned about that.  :D

Did anyone else pick this game up? Would love to play with some NWR users!

88
Online is apparently stable in the final version of Mario Tennis Aces. Hooray!

Let's start adding Switch friend codes, if we haven't been friends already!

89
I enjoyed the demo and I like the new mechanics. I'll probably grab the game at sometime down the road.

Out of curiosity, what constitutes a spoiler for a tennis game?

:) It was just a play off my Super Mario Odyssey topic title!

Well, I've been interested in owning Ultra Smash since it's so cheap nowadays for used copies. Regardless, yeah, I can definitely just use the library again when you're ready.

I only checked out Ultra Smash from the library, myself. I could track down a used copy for cheap, probably!

92
Hey Steefosaurus! Glad to read you played LEGO City! We can still be friends even though you didn't like it as much, I guess...

Do you have Mario Tennis Open for the 3DS? I've been wanting to play that with some people--even asked on ERA and got no response!

93
What was that Pocket Rumble, Pocket Fighter, Game Boy-looking 2D fighter?

94
I'm a goofball who takes on, like, 80 games at once. Okay, that might be a BIT of an overexaggeration, but...

And thanks! :D

95
I checked out the PS4 version from the library, and played through that. However, now I'm going to actually buy the game, this time with the Switch version! Excited to replay FighterZ!

96
Hey all. Sorry I've been on a hiatus without any notice!

Anyway, I have returned! *cricket chirping*

For a long time, Mario Tennis Aces has been my most anticipated game of the summer. Just confused as to how folks are reviewing the game with a grade/score when there's supposedly no online functionality until the day one patch!

Still, I loved the online stress test to the servers, and would love to play with some NWR friends!

Would anyone like to play some matches?
I keep getting paired up with a guy named Mike, and are matches lag when he's losing. :/

She's 5

But she like the Batman Arkham Asylum game and Injustice on the Wii U
and no, I didn't make her play it, I came in the room, and she was already playing it (picked it out and put the disc in herself) and asked me to help her.

She also like the LEGO City game as well.

I believe LEGO City Undercover will be $20 this week at various retailers for Black Friday sales. The updated versions (Switch, PS4, XB1, PC) have co-op play in the open world area this time around. That could be something you guys play together, and you don't even have to stay in the same block of town if you guys don't want to thanks to the split screen.

General Gaming / Re: What is your most recent gaming purchase?
« on: November 20, 2017, 10:34:27 PM »
Purchased DOOM on the Switch two weekends ago. Just got to play it earlier this week. I finished the game on PS4, and would have purchased that version, but it took up SO much storage. The Switch version isn't nearly 100 GB of updates (yet), so I jumped on that to rip and tear on the go and in the comfort of my chair.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: What are your thoughts on the 3DS at this point?
« on: November 20, 2017, 10:24:54 PM »
I think the 3DS has my favorite software library of any system ever, especially now that it has a proper Metroid game. From Nintendo's big franchises to quirky indie stuff, 3DS has an amazing selection. I'll keep mine around forever to keep going back to some of my favorites.

This is my main thought as well. Had great support from Nintendo, third parties, had digital-exclusive games to further bolster its library, and gave me thousands of hours of playtime. I still have more games that are on my shelf that I need to still play!
