Here's the plan: I want to make a video about four minutes long, with clips of awesome video game tricks, shortcuts, useful glitches, stuff like that, with a racing game theme for this one (and put it to awesome music)! I'd like to do all original stuff (not re-using anything from the internet).  I'd just like to do this to better familiarize myself with video capture for future use.

(If anybody has any other requests for video, like if you've heard any stories about me at certain games , I'd be happy to comply)

OK then,

1.  What equipment/software do you have?
2.  Is there a main editor(person) the source clips will be sent to?
3.  How much time will you put into the project?
4.  What games(and systems) do you want to include?

Take a look at Pro's N-Racing video.  I think that might inspire you some.  Its all racing clips from the n64 that he captured and put to music.  Its one of the half dozen or so vid game msuc videos i have saved on my computer.

*horray for browsing the internets at work cause there nothing to do!*

1. "Dazzle" USB gizmo and MGI VideoWave (I have a feeling I'll get something better by the time this is done - any suggestions software wise?)
2. Me, herk herk
3. I have lots of free time right now, but I'm not doing this super seriously, just for fun, really
4. Any and all as long as it's interesting enough

K, and for my old racing music video:

http://www.fileplanet.com/files/110000/118684.shtml
This is the only public place I seem to have it at.  It's an old project, and an old encode.  AVI: DivX format.

I'll have a more detailed response later.

yo SUPES:
1.  What format does your Dazzle record in?  I have a feeling you'll be using Adobe Premiere by the time this is done.  You should also familiarize yourself with VirtualDub in the meantime.
2.  How do you think the media should be sent to you?  My clips can have bitrates of 5-8 MBytes/sec at their highest quality.  So 200MB would get you 30sec of video.
3.  Is the "racing" limited to automobiles only?  1080 and Wave Race come to mind.

you see my dazzle doesnt pick up things from the n64...nor does it pick up the menu on my vcr. It just says there is no signal, doesnt even like it if i tape something from n64 and then try to play it for the dazzle. If i try to dazzle my gamecube or a tv signal or even a dvd it works just fine.

Your dazzle was probably made during a time when capture devices were still a pain in the ass since they were picky about the scan/refresh nature of the incoming signals.  Not only was N64 video upscaled from an already low resolution, 99% of its games didn't even run at a full framerate, 20fps on average, with 1 of every 3 frames being a duplicate.  I'm guessing some capture devices got confused with the way N64 created these duplicates, whether it identifies the dup as a legitimate field/frame or decides to drop it after seeing the fields aren't truly updated.

How on earth do those codes work? I mean, I didn't think ARs could modify in-game models...
Title: RE: Who has a video capture device?

Modifying in-game models, like getting infinite ammo, is matter of modifying in-memory values.  Of course, accomplishing the former is much harder than the latter.  Mad props to the original hackers.

The boob-mod AR codes I encrypted were 16-EFFING-LINES-LONG!  And yeah, entered one boob-mod for Ada, twice for Ashley, and ALL 3 AGAIN AFTER MY EFFING AR CARD GOT CORRUPTED AND I HAD TO RE-ENTER A BUNCH OF THEM AGAIN SINCE THIS AR VERSION CAME OUT BEFORE RE4 WAS OUT BUT IT WAS ONLY $10 SO HOO-YAH!

Wow, 16 lines? How'd they even find the numerical value for the polygon?
