Nintendo Gaming / NBA Jam

So recently playing the 3 on 3 basketball in Sports Resort I had a nostalgic feeling for NBA Jam. In terms of basketball games, it is the last basketball game (excluding NBA Street, which I loved) that I really had fun with. So I was wondering if any of you have any memories of this game on the SNES, or if anyone knows what happened to it when Midway went under? Or do you think there could actually be a new, good NBA game from EA with all the motion-plus stuff they are doing?
