NWR Super Mario Maker Level Share Thread
« on: September 10, 2015, 10:00:41 AM »
So as our dear overlord Neal said in his review: "finding levels online is a bitch"(paraphrasing). I've taken up the task of creating this thread and maintaining it so that NWR regulars can find levels in a quick and easy way, play them, and provide feedback. I'm hoping to organize them all in this thread in as neat and tidy way as possible.

I've made my second level and called it 'Shell Shocker' and it's built around the use of Koopa Troopers to help advance around the levels. I kind of made it up as I went along and sat and tweaked it as I went to try and find something that mechanically works, but isn't too difficult or long.

It definitely felt better than my first level which I had been thinking about all week.

If anyone wants to try and and give me some feedback I'd be very thankful.

Making some simple levels while waiting to see if the unlock system is actually different (still seems to 9-day so far...)

These Pipes Are Made For Walking - F8D0-0000-0012-983C
Flight Test - 89F7-0000-0012-C2C3

Just biding my time to get the later unlocks so I can make my Kuribo's masterpiece...

I made a really basic level but feel free to try it. It's very short I wanted my son to be able to beat it.

This one's a bit of a maze, but not too long or too difficult.

Thread the Needle: 4FDB-0000-001B-8E76
Very short level, but requires a couple of precision moves.

Bowser's Backup: FB2D-0000-0022-DD2A
A pretty tough Castle level, a couple of hidden secrets to help along the way. And of course, Bowser has some backup at the end.

I've added some levels via twitter as well. I'm trying to catch up with some of the regular on Miiverse as well. I'll be shooting to update the OP every morning and evening.

I made two levels which I honestly don't consider to be much.. I did them with the first basic tool kit before I went on to really unlock the rest.   They were more just trying out the tools for the first time and getting the hang of the system.   Although I can say they are pretty short.  (That's probably their best quality.)  :)

First one is

Easy Peasy

67D9-0000-0012-A6BE

Second is

Bouncing Nom

C560-000-0016-5C7E

Now that I took the time to unlock everything yesterday though, I look forward to building a real level that is more traditional.

I'm quite proud of this effort:

61F4-0000-0021-5AC3

I tried to make it like a "normal" level, rather than basing it on a gimmick or idea. It does have lots of secrets though, and a boss battle to finish. "Castle Assault, Multiple Fronts" it's called.

This one is sort of inspired by Special Zone 2 from Mario World. It was my first effort:

Mario Maker is fantastic. I miss Chargin' Chuck though.

Here are the first three I have made, so far I think my Castle level is the best. I've still yet to unlock everything.

Over or Under: C5D3-0000-001D-1C7C
Run Fast Sonic: D7B4-0000-001D-AE37
Platfall Koopa Castle: 47E3-0000-0025-A552

I am aiming for Nintendo like quality, first couple are pretty simple though. I'll check out some levels from here later tonight!

I've made two levels. I only like one of them.

Up & Down: 54D0-0000-0025-BE80

It's easy/moderate difficulty. Has more than one idea/set piece in it. I still only have the beginner's tool set, so pretty simple on that front.

This level is hard if you are impatient, easy if you are...or if you are very lucky. I think this one came out surprisingly well from a "score attack" standpoint. Probably my most creative.

Here's a rough version of my first in a series of Bowser Airship levels. I for one think my use of bowser at the end is hilarious.

477B-0000-0029-78A6.

I feel there a few fine tuning type things I need to work on before I move on to part 2. That said I do think it's worth checking out.

Hello! Long time RFN listener and Super Mario Maker convinced me to sign up for an account so I could share me and my wife's levels with you guys and receive some feedback. We got the game yesterday and have not been able to stop playing since! It is fantastic and making levels is much more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
Here is our first 4 levels:

1AB6-0000-0017-092E - Ship in The Air

BCCF-0000-001D-2593 - Jump them Walls

7ABF-0000-002A-5F8D - House of Boos

F863-0000-0025-EA7B - Hi!....Bye

We are actively trying to avoid enemy spamming and trolling levels, we try to make the levels semi-hard but not too hard to the point they are frustrating. These levels were after a full day of messing around with everything. We had not unlocked sub levels at the time these were uploaded. Thanks for playing and criticism is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to try your guys levels out and really getting used to working with the level editor. This is one of the most fulfilling video games I have ever played.

Made a few tweaks (mostly I replaced the fire flowers with capes to help with the difficulty a bit.) And replaced the old version with this one.

And I got a star from Greg which is a good sign.

I call this one Rememberance of Things Past. Wondering how to tweak it, my goal was to cross the two best levels from the best Mario game in the set but I think it got out of hand. 6BDE-0000-002F-E5F9

Played Brandoggs Bowser's Backup and Phil32's Mushroom Heights.

Bowser's Backup: I haven't finished it yet, not much room for error. I think it would be more enjoyable with a bit more leeway for the player here and there, but, I guess that's kinda what you were going for.

Mushroom heights: Pretty fun and easy going level, I'd only think a little more about placement maybe. For instance, I think some of the moving platforms overlapped slightly, would look more pro with a few tiny tweaks.
