And it also pays homage to the original SMB.  So it's the best of those three games really and it adds more.  Sounds like I'll finally have to plunk down for an NDS.  Hopefully, the DSL will be released to coincide with NSMB.

Anticipation is building for possible new Rev stuff.  I for one can't wait and will be dissappointed if nothing is mentioned.  I am guessing it will be the official name though.  Other stuff will be icing on the cake.

Rather than just hour usage, do game hour usage for psp.  I'm sure it'll be about 10:1 ratio.  PSP is used as a movie player for planes and an mp3 player mainly.

- Sony announced a US price drop of PSP to $199 on March 22, the new package will only include the PSP, AC adaptor and battery. Currently 15 million units of PSP were shipped worldwide, the PSP generated US$1.6 billion in 2005, more than both Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS combined.

I wonder how much of that $1.6 billion is actually profit.  I'm guessing none and it's all loss.  I'd like to see their profit margins compared to the DS.  Actually, I bet they're less than when you combine the DS's profit and the 360's losses.

With that power button, I wonder if you'll be able to turn on the Rev from the Revmote or if that is just to turn on the revmote's power(though that one is wired so it doesn't really need it).

That's crap.

"I want to buy a DS Lite, but only within 4 days from now.  If I can't find one, I will banish all thoughts of DS Lite's forever and never agin consider getting one."

More like people who didn't get one after lining up on opening day have a distinct and non-zero possibility of forgoing a purchase now that their interest has waned.

Edit: For instance, I'm considering cancelling my order because of this ridiculous delay.

And the fact that unknowing parents will go to the store to buy the handheld their child is asking for, only to find it gone and they decide, rather than having to come back again, they'll just buy the PSP instead because it's "the same thing, right?"

Artimus and RiskyChris really you don't have to get all upset about this.  Who really thought Ian would be happy with anything?

Ian just because your setup has consoles next to PC doesn't mean the rest of people have it that way.  I'm guessing the majority of people Nintendo is trying to reach have their consoles in the living room or bedroom while the PC is in a computer room or office.  This would make an ethernet cable a lot harder to use than just plugging the dongle into their PC and not having to change where their consoles are set up.  Plus, I believe Nintendo is not offering ethernet because it's cheaper without it. Nintendo is trying to be the cheapest console and easiest to use.  While adding an ethernet port may make it easier for some people, maybe the cost is too high to add one in Nintendo's eyes and they are compromising.  Maybe the dongle will be in stores around Rev launch time.

Well, since the Clippers are almost guaranteed and the Lakers have a very good chance of making it, this extra part is pretty much moot at this point.

Can't wait to see the floor space and see how much room Nintendo has compared to Sony and Microsoft.  I'm guessing Sony & Nintendo will be about equal being as they have to show off new hardware playable demos.  Plus Sony has Blu ray to show off and Nintendo has Zelda and DS.

Excepts Shaq hasn't played for the Lakers for 2 years and since he's in the Eastern Conference, there is no way he'd play either the Lakers or Clippers in the playoffs during E3.

Good read, they sound very intelligent and their thougth process seems to be in the same vein as Nintendo's.  Here's hoping they get publishers for these games and make them great.

Never have I heard such a false statement before.  Goldeneye is still considered by many gamers to be the defacto console FPS and it is close to 10 years old now.  Mario 64 is still the king of 3d platformers and many believe Super Mario Bros 3 is superior to even that game.

I think you meant to put the word "looking" into your statement.

"New games are always better looking than old games!"

Well if they ever get a Fire Emblem game for the system, I will definitely get one at that point.  Actually, I may end up getting one or two(for the wife) when the Lite is released in the States.  That thing looks sweet.

I loved Prime and Prime 2, but I can't seem to get into the controls on this one(at least from the First Hunt demo).  Maybe it's a bit better now, but multiplayer sounds like a lot of fun.

Well the fact that those are the exact same cables used for the N64 and GC, it makes sense that they'd have those.  But if you need a power cord, you are out of luck, which is my predicament at this point.  Plus my SNES doesn't work very well right now as well.

It would be hard to use the desired item while moving things with the stylus. So its used for simple things that make things quicker.

Kind of like voice recognition on cell phones, right?  I like that idea.  The game learns how you say it and so it's less likely to misunderstand what you say.

I'd hope they openly admit their blatant copying of Apple.

Of course, to quote CPM, "If an idea works, we'll steal it!"

Good job Nintendo at finally learning to appeal to the masses.

Let's also hope those three years aren't wasted and the cool concept they come up with fizzels into a lackluster game.  That would be upsetting.  So much potential, yet nothing good to show for it.

Nintendo Gaming / A successful Revolution Launch lineup.
« on: February 04, 2006, 01:05:13 AM »
I think Nintendo has the potential to have a great launch in both Japan and the US(don't really know about Europe at this point).  They do need some key launch titles though IMO.

For Japan, I think they need at LEAST these three games:

Brain Training Revolution
Super Smash Brothers Online
Animal Forest Online

At least these with Nintendo Wifi Connection already in effect at launch plus a few third party games would ensure a success at launch I think.

For the US, it's a little harder.  I'd say at least:

Super Smash Brothers Online
Mario Revolution
Zelda:TP (I know a GC game but with forwards compatability, it's a near Rev game)
Possibly Metroid Prime 3
At least 15 more third party games
Plus Nintendo Wifi Connection in effect at launch.

It is really hard to predict the US launch with the mood in the country on gaming focused on Xbox360 and PS3, but I still think Nintendo can do it with at least these things.

What do you all think?
