Retro City Rampage been out on PSN longer. also been on sale, so of course the numbers for the PS3 will be the highest?  Retro City Rampage goes on sale in April (first week) on XBLA so expect to see an increase boost.

Hell, I think it was just released on WIIware (March?) so that would explain why it was the lowest sales.

I think 5,000 is pretty good for a WiiWare game in 2012. The kind of people who paid attention to WiiWare are largely the kind of people who bought Wii Us, and thus people who had to go through a shitty process just to get to WiiWare when this came out. That plus it being the last version to come out makes the number not so bad.

The exact wording was "sold less than 5000" so that might be anything from zero to 4999. Same with revenue.

Also developer regrets doing XBLA port since it turned out to be the most hassle with littlest return. Ratio of profit per copy sold is the lowest among all platforms.

Wii U sales triple in UK

Wii U sales triple in the United Kingdom when Monster Hunter hit.

Though triple the sales of the original number isn't too great, but it's certainly not bad news.

Now after putting in about 15-20 hours I can see why Monster Hunter is so addicting.

Sure did! I got this awesome hammer as well! Big, blue and it has spikes!  Next I want to make that green armor that looks like a Native American, made from that big bird that we battled with the huge red throat pouch that calls extra monsters.

Quropeco armor.  Cool.  Just so you know it Abilities (Wide Range and Maestro) are gear towards support Hunting Horns.  Though Wide Range is handy for everyone since the items you use will go to close allies as well.  The bugs in that set is the worst part.

Is it just that Microsoft (and publisher) took the biggest chunk of the four platforms, or that the WiiWare version made more profit overall despite having a third of the sales?

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon fends off the oft-delayed Fate/Extra CCC for the top spot. The Wii U gets a much-needed boost in sales from Dragon Quest X for Wii U and (maybe?) Game & Wario. The PlayStation Vita continues to maintain a decent sales pace; the price cut and new software did wonders.

Not bad for a mini game collection I would assume people like me are getting tired of by now despite the new input methods and a better looking version of a game that's been out on Wii for a while.

Oh and by that I mean I'm surprised they sold that much at all. Played a couple Game and Wario games and was absolutely not interested at all. When will square quit making their top franchises MMO's?

Actually, DQX didn't do that badly.  The sales represent about 60-80% of the stock.  In addition, the report does not take into account the eShop sales or upgrade sales.  For a console that is at three quarters of a million, those numbers aren't as terrible as they seem.

I'm not making this up either, this source clearly states that Famitsu said that this is a sell of 75% stock.

I imagine the eShop sales for this are even better; DQX, after all, CAN be purchased for half the price at eShop AND there is a discount for people who already have the Wii version to upgrade it.  So many people are blowing this out of proportion, hence the whole "DQX tanks on WiiU in Japan" media blitz that is happening.

If that's true then at least Square didn't expect it to sell that well. But I think people expected it to be more of a much-needed boost for the Wii U, because the mainline series usually sells a lot more than this. I know why it didn't of course, but, still, this is why people had higher expectations.

Understandable in every way.  Even if DQX's physical sales aren't much, don't forget that the real money for this title comes from the subscription fees.  And of course, there's also the eShop digital sales -- after all it's cheaper on eShop, and there are discounts for simple upgrades.  Why the charts didn't report any of this is beyond me.  But I bet it's doing much better on that front.  Either way, it won't be the last WiiU title we'll see from S-E.  The more units Nintendo can sell, the more third parties will commit to it.

And who knows, maybe DQXI will be traditional AND a 3DS/WiiU simultaneous release.  I CAN see it, provided Nintendo continues its pursuing of 3rd parties.

Doubt the DL sales are going be much higher.  Most WII U owners--most likely already owned an WII and all those that wanted to play DQX most likely did already.  There wasn't much new to warrant spending $40 (upgrade cost) while still paying $12 monthly.

For $40 you'll get a slighty shaprer image (WII U has better AA), some sound tracks, an bonus in game item, and off-screen gamepad play?  I know better ways to blow $40 on.

--------------------------

Of course I will never have to worry about DQX since it's never going be localized to begin with.  I waited 5 years for this too :(.

You never know.  I think if S-E wants this title to make more money, they'll have to localize it.

There was also the message from Iwata-san that he was going to work with developers to publish their titles stateside.  DQX must be one of them.  Don't jump to conclusions just yet.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Animal Crossing: New Leaf top the charts in a week where the only new release to chart is Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge for the PS3. Sales have settled as the PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo Wii U start sinking back to old rates. Dragon Quest X Wii U retail sees a 70% along with other titles such as Fate/Extra CCC and Muramasa Rebirth; whoever wanted those titles day one got them.

Game and Wario is selling poorly. I find this a bit surprising.
