TalkBack / Re: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Launching On Wii U Today

Skyward Sword is actually among the very best games in the entire series. How anybody thinks it's bad it utterly beyond my comprehension.

Removing the ability to share levels online, in my judgment, severely defeats the purpose of this game. I guess I'll just be sticking with the Wii U version.

A little late to the game. Hopefully the NX picks up and keeps running with the Wii U's eShop next year, because it's still missing a ton of games... not the least of which is Contra.

4
Gunvolt amiibo incoming...??

5
ThePerm, your only option for Yoshi's Island on the Wii U will be Super Mario Advance 3. But that's okay, because it's pretty indistinguishable from Super Mario World 2!

6
I don't remember the last time I saw a Wave 1 Samus figure in a store. It's always puzzled me how Nintendo could allow that one to slip out of circulation.

I think it's in the distant future, post-Wind Waker. After the oceans have receded. The world seems vast, empty; sparsely populated. And yet there is a distinctly sci-fi flavor to some of the goings-on. It feels right to me, but we'll see!

Man, Capcom just does NOT discount Virtual Console games. Seriously, how many times do those Resident Evil games need to go on sale?

I haven't yet seen an amiibo bundle announced for the U.S., and that would be a day-one purchase for me...

And just in time for it to become a freebie on Xbox, too.

My daughter and I both enjoy Disney Infinity a lot. The figures make great collectibles, too. This is really sad news. But on the positive side, our shelves are bursting with these figures and I don't know where we'd put more of them. And hopefully I'll be able to get the ones I missed at a decent clearance price in the near future.

Damn it. I really need to upgrade to a New 3DS. I really love my Retro NES Edition regular 3DS, though. 😩

Callie and Marie are amazing, but those Inkling re-colors feel fairly pointless. I would've preferred to get amiibo of Cap'n Cuttlefish, Spike, the Octolings, etc.

Xenoblade! That's all that matters. If you don't own it already (and even if you do), buy it immediately. It's absolutely amazing!!

Yes! I have it on disc and it's one of the greatest games I've ever played. I don't even have a New 3DS and I even bought that version just to support it! And I will happily support it again with this digital release. Anyone out there who hasn't experienced this game yet... do not miss it this time around!!

I'll probably be skipping this, but only because I've already got most of these games downloaded on my 3DS. They really are excellent, and deserving of support!

Oops. Broodwars is a PlayStation gamer who openly advertises his hatred of the Wii U in his very signature. Never mind.

Aaannnd, Broodwars straight up proved me right. Honestly, man, get out of that narrow-minded hatred of motion controls and at least give it a try.

Nintendo is sure to lose some sales with that whole "I'm too hardcore for motion controls" crowd.

I knew that Linkle character in Hyrule Warriors Legends had to serve a larger purpose...

TalkBack / Re: DSi Shop Winding Down Over Next Year
« on: March 31, 2016, 04:00:02 PM »
DSiWare was really disappointing to me, on the whole, with a few standout exceptions. I didn't download many games because the DSi's internal memory was so piddly, and I was always waiting for a Virtual Console that didn't rear its head until the 3DS came around. I'm surprised that the DSi Shop has survived this long. Nintendo's doing the right thing here, and at least DSiWare games will continue to remain available via the 3DS.

Xenocide, I thank you for that hands-on review! I bought the game and put it unopened on my shelf next to Xenoblade 3D, which I also bought for the day that I eventually own a New 3DS, figuring I might open it just to get the Wii U character DLC codes, but now I feel better about just ripping it open and playing it. So, again, I thank you!

I have this pre-ordered but I haven't upgraded to a New 3DS. Is it really so bad that I should give up now and cancel my pre-order? 😩

It's gonna cost them sales. Too many developers, including Nintendo themselves, truly underestimate how much Wii U gamers enjoy playing online.

The 3Ds's internal memory is the same as the DSi's, which is to say miniscule. This is stupid.
