I caught the tail end of the Miss America pagent tonight. And the first thought that crossed my mind as the camera panned across the top 5 finalists: look at all the fake boobies.
Seriously, everyone of them had boob jobs. Now I know its been a long time since I paid any attention to any beauty pagent, but when did the contest get boiled down to who has the best plastic surgeon?
This event really brings out the dicotomy of the American psyche. On one hand we have an informal poll that shows people would rather their children be exposed to violence than sex, then we have a national televised program where the meat and potatoes rests squarely on prosthetic beauty, winner becoming the voice of American women.
Just what is the point of the fake breast? It destroys the natural function and replaces it with a plastic bag filled with gel or water or whatever science has come up with that hasn't been found to be dangerous, yet. Maybe the woman needs a self-esteem boost. Like bringing attention to her chest is going to solve that issue. Or maybe the woman is just attracted to water balloons implanted in her chest. Um, ok, kinda like tatoos but different?
I just see one use for them. And that's no fun without some lubricant. And still not as fun as the real deal.
Fake titties on strippers: whatever.
