The original Game Boy version of Tetris is coming to the 3DS eShop in Europe on Thursday as part of this week's update.
The game was a launch title for Nintendo's first cartridge-based handheld and was bundled with the system. It is given a lot of credit for the early success of the Game Boy. Its 33 million copies sold is still the most ever for a handheld game to this day.
That is... surprising.
Somehow, I figured licensing would prevent this...
I don't know if I'd say it's a hell of a lot better, as it's basically the same exact thing, just in color.Actually, this isn't true. Tetris DX added three new modes, though this came at the price of removing the "Game B" from the original. It also was capable of saving high scores, though I don't think this will matter when it comes to the 3DS Virtual Console.
