There are probably plenty of people who would have downloaded it if they were still paying attention to their Wii U. Also, 85,000 is still probably better than Rayman Origins sold before hitting $20.

That looked awesome. Kinda like what a Sonic game should be.

From i can tell from Castle Rock in the demo, music levels, while definitely great experiences, lose a lot of classic platforming action in favor of simply following the beats.

The game basically turns into Bit Trip Runner/Harmoknight which is fine and it's not like i hate rhythm platformers, i just prefer regular platformers and regular rhythm games over them. Mostly because of how these kind of games force you memorize every single metre of the level.

This new video looks harder and much more varied than Castle Rock level though, so i believe Rayman Legends will be a great game either way.

PS. My thumbs still hurt from playing challenge app last night.

BUMP!

So this game is really good. It reaches greatness in a few places.

...But I am starting to get my fill. The difficulty really ramps up in later levels, and I miss the free wheeling and discovery of the earlier parts of the game.

I notice that most of the Rayman Origins levels they include are rated at a lower difficulty. Was that game much easier in general than Legends?

Actually a good rhythm platformer should never make you memorize the entire level.   But is should have cues for what type of action to perform to the music...then it should carefully choreograph the action to the bit of the music.  The above video did a great job, and I never felt like you would have to memorize that level to beat it properly.

I'm holding out for an eShop price drop. Since I've been waiting for one for ZombiU and it still hasn't happened, I'm not expecting one anytime soon.

Me too re Legends. Need a drop to $40 on e-shop and I am there.
I bought ZombiU At 39.99 on the e-shop ages ago. I thought that was its steady price now? Same with Assassins's Creed III?

AC3 got the perma-drop months ago. As far as I know ZombieU is still (inexplicably) being sold at $60 with a few occasional temporary discounts

So I watched the new Dixie Kong trailer that came out today, and the gameplay looks very similar to Rayman.

I was deep into PC games during the Donkey Kong Country SNES era, so I was wondering who ripped off who?

The part where the Kongs are going down the line of vines at 1:06 is reminiscent of Rayman Origins/Legends greatly.

I don't recall that being in the original DKC trilogy, but I'm not thinking about it that deeply at all.

I agree, both games have running and jumping.

Convinced my mother-in-law to get this for my daughter for Christmas...awesome game. Highly recommended if anyone is on the fence.

I just started playing my copy (received for Christmas). It's really a damn fine game. I've never owned a Rayman game before, but my initial impressions lead me to believe this game could be better than any of the 2D "New" Mario games.

I've never played a Rayman game before this either, and I am extremely disappointed in myself for that fact.
