Post by: LassePalle on February 18, 2003, 04:06:25 AM
But there is no fancy pre-order program this time around...

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER LIMITED EDITION HITS EUROPE

February 18 2003 - Nintendo today announce the eagerly anticipated news that a limited edition bonus disk will be included with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker at launch on 3rd May.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, will include a bonus disk containing two additional NINTENDO GAMECUBE games: The N64 Classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and previously unreleased title The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest, which was originally designed for the N64DD. Also on the bonus disk will be additional gameplay footage including the all-new F-Zero, 1080° Avalanche, Timesplitters 2, Phantasy Star Online, Rayman 3 & Super Monkey Ball 2, all for NINTENDO GAMECUBE.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is the latest in the Zelda series, which began in 1986 with The Legend of Zelda on Nintendo's NES console. Since then, over 36 million Zelda games have been sold worldwide for Nintendo's NES, SNES, N64, and Game Boy consoles.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker limited edition double disk set will be available from 3rd May 2003 priced around 60 Euros whilst stocks last.

60 Euros? That pretty much equals $60....why is Nintendo ripping off Europe by charging them 10 dollars more for a game the US and Japan got for free? I guess this goes to show the NOE is a very different, uncaring, org. than NoA and NCL.

but will we?

There is no pre-order program, and it says while stocks last.

Just how many copies are going to be available?

If we pre-order Zelda do we get the bonus disc? can you buy Zelda WITHOUT te bonus disc?

!!!

Okay..

I called up NOAU, They're apparently still awaiting confirmation from NOE if they'll be doing the second disc. i've got a lady from their PR department calling me to set me up with their Press packs. (-grin- i told em I was one of the aussie correspondents for PGC Hey, a little white lie is gonna get me their entire press package! and I'll be posting here a lot more often, too XD) anyway.

No you won't.  Lying to Nintendo, saying that you work for us to get a Press Kit, then boasting about it on our own Forums is NOT SMART.

Japan: Predorder, get the disc.
US: Preorder, get the disc.
EU:Limited edition 2 disc set.
AU: PROBABLY the 2 disc set.

oh. They have zelda slated for an aussie release in may, same as the brits.

All you did was tell them....and they're going to send you that. Do you think they read PGC? They might see this.

Erm, all of the Gamecube games in Europe do cost 60 Euros, so I don't know what you're talking about. Now you pay 60 Euros for the Wind Waker Disc and get two discs for free, seems pretty good to me. At least we get them. I was affraid that NOE was thinking differently and not releasing them. Phew, glad that's over.

Now the real question is how many Bonus Discs are they going to release here in Europe?

3rd of May is a long time to wait, guess I'll reserve mine today.

Off topic for the last time you say Nintendo of Australia NAL Nintendo Australia Limited. It just makes it less confusing. Heck check their crappy website. They refer to themselves as Nintendo Australia not Nintendo of Australia. NOA on the other hand refer to themsleves as Nintendo of America.

Anyway I'm going to wait for the offical word from NAL before I get excited over this. I bet they over price the game to $110 bucks like they did with RE because it includes 2 disks.

As for your white lie gaining their press releases, do you think that if I say I'm from GBA Network Australia (which I am) they'll send them to me too?

Somehow though I doubt their press releases will be much special. I imagine it would just be release dates, promo shite and stuff like that.

Do not EVER do this.  We will be alerting Nintendo about this, as well as yanking your forum account.  But thanks for letting us know .

How did you become "press" anyways? I'm not sure where the problem in Nintendo giving some info to us normal folks is such a bad thing...they should do it for anyone that asks (automatic internet response style of course, more personalized if they got the time).

We're press because of our website and our history with Nintendo.  What is the problem here?  We don't need 93948573948573 fanboys trying to pose as us.  Oh yeah, and Nintendo has been alerted of this all over the globe, so trying it now will be futile.

Just make your own site .

I didn't mean "what's the problem with people posing as something they are not" (there's a legal term for that....), but just what I said, a dream or something.

Yeah, I have a site, not news though....so that won't get me a press credential.

Why did this happen in the first place, probably some complacency...that will just return and this may happen again in the future.
