The 3DS Dr. Mario costs fewer coins than the Wii version!  :P: :
You misread, the 3DS Dr. Mario (it's actually DSiWare) costs more coins than the Wii version. And the Wii version actually costs twice as many points as the DSiWare version, so the Wii version would be a better value to get. It has a 2-4 player co-op mode that can actually be pretty fun.

Actually, I read it right, I just mis-typed it.  :-[ The fact that the Wii version costs twice as much dollars, but fewer coins, was what prompted me to comment on that in the first place.

I have heard all about the "snaking" in Mario Kart DS but have no clue what exactly it is or how to do it. Can someone please explain? Sorry for the thread-jack

It's simple. Hold R to drift, then quickly switch between hitting left and right to build up your boost. Once it's red, release to boost. Repeat throughout the course. It's easiest on turns, but on straightaways boost one direction, then the other.

So, I've got a bit of an odd question that maybe one of you fine folks can answer. Is there a way I can tell if a code has already been used without using it? I ask because I have a few codes for games that I already registered, but I don't want to offer them to someone unless I know that they haven't been redeemed yet. If I enter the code and it has been used, would I get the message that the code has already been used, or that I already registered a copy of that game?

I've never tried to register multiple copies of the same title within the same account if the game has coins, but when I've tried it with non-coin giving games (GCN, GBA, older DS games), it has given me an error and won't let me register them on that account - but lets me register it on another account.

Two new games have been added as rewards for Club Nintendo:
Mario Party 2 (Wii) for 150 coins
Art Academy: First Semester (3DS) for 150 coins

They will be available until February 29.

On a sidenote, I forgot to claim the Dr. Mario games like I wanted to.

Also, there's a 3DS game case on there. It's 250 coins, holds 18 games (so JP, get two) and has four swank-looking reversible covers.

Once I build my points back up, I'm all over this.

Man, I regret not owning Mario Party 2, definitely my fave, and Art Academy has always tempted me... Oh geez, I can't believe I'm considering using my points on non-physical goods...

So in a flurry of eagerness and excitement, I snapped up a download copy of Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again for 150 Coins when it was available on the Club Nintendo Website. However, because of said eagerness/excitement, I didn't bother to read the disclaimer that you could only redeem the code on a 3DS and NOT on the DSi. So I am left with a download code for Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again that is completely useless to me. I was wondering if anyone is interested in possibly doing a trade, say for a download code for Mario Party 2?

EDIT: Woo, someone kindly took me up on my offer!

It's far above average for a licensed game.

I know that doesn't sound like a lot of praise, but it really is.

Obviously, it's not going to be on par with the AAA DS titles (of which there is no shortage), but if you have the money to spend or find a good deal on it, I'd recommend picking it up and giving it a play through.  You won't walk away ready to join the Cult of TRON DS after playing it, but it'll give you plenty of entertainment for your purchase.

If I get to the Case do I have to show a picture with Ouenden in one form or another in it.  Thats the only way I've seen user pictures of it.

Does anyone know how good those tote or messenger bags are? Or can link to a review showing size/sturdiness?

I have the messenger bag.  It's not bad.

The print is nice enough: my wife thought it looked geek-chic and wanted to steal it. There are no dividers or separate pockets inside, so it's just a single pocket. Closes with a small (maybe 2-inch) piece of velcro at the top of the bag, and the cover just folds over.  Material is thick enough to feel sturdy, but not like something that will withstand excessive use.  The carrying strap is just big enough, but might've benefited from been a bit longer.  (I'm tall but skinny; larger gamers might feel it's too short.) My biggest complaint is that the whole thing is a bit smaller than expected: you won't fit much inside - my box set of pins that Club Nintendo gave away as the recent platinum reward is a good fit with just a few extra inches on each side - but given how light the fabric is you probably wouldn't want a heavy load anyway.

In my opinion, it was a good use of the 550 coins and a nice piece of Nintendo schwag for occasional use. I don't carry it on a regular basis though.

My tough decision at the moment is whether to save my coins for digital games in the future, or drop everything to get one of those sweet DS/3DS card cases.  Honestly, I can't see why I'd need to carry 18 games with me in a single case, and have decent 3- and 6-card cases already for small trips.  But the photos make it look so cool...

I do have to admit to putting some thought into the titles I grabbed.
I have games from all three major regions (US, JPN, EU).  I have some demo carts in there.  I have all four major types of cartridges (DS, DSi Enhanced, DSi-Only, 3DS) - though I should have included Personal Trainer: Walking or one of the Pokémon games with an IR port in it...  Finally, I've got games that require crazy peripherals just for fun. :D
