I wouldn't mind getting MGS2: Substance for GC, I actually liked the game.  Come on, you can be Snake the whole time!  Even better, Raiden has the sword the whole time.  THE EFFING SWORD.  Anybody who fights troopers with guns AND a badass sword a la Dante gets my respect.  Anybody who can go effin' Kenshin on those fools and reverse blade the sword gets my praise.

Also, a remake like GC Resident Evil of the first one would rock, if only to see Meryl again.  Another WTF regarding MGS2...

Alpha, I hated both Raiden, and the plot of MGS2.  Substance just doesn't cut it.  The entire game would have to be reworked to make me happy.  The tanker level was awesome, but every bit after that got progressively worse.  By the time I got to the end, I hated the game.  But I promptly started on the tanker level again right after I had finished the game.  The difference then was I had the brains to quit when Raiden came on stage.

A remake of the first MGS game would be a dream come true for me.  Can you imagine the last cut scene with Sniper Wolf with GameCube's hardware and Prologic II sound?  I almost peed myself thinking about that...  Actually, I might just og relive that scene right now.  It stands as one of the greatest video game moments EVER in my books.
Once I had, a little game
I liked to crawl back into my brain
I think you know the game I mean

the man who made MGS2 said he was disapointed in the Playstation2.
Plus has shown some negative plus good feedback on Gamecube
plus he meet shiggy last year
I dont know why all you fan boys hate Konami so much
Not like there big into Xbox also, Konami makes games for profit
easiest way to make a profit is making games for ps2 and gba, its simple
I guess there no relizing that this will be a big year for nintendo, and wanna follow suit
now stop being haters

Hideo Kojima has said the occasional thing in the past that he probably regrets, who hasn't? Let it go folks, the time to talk about that isn't now, he is trying to do the right thing by us here.

I don't think anyone here hates Konami, quite the opposite.

This is excellent news, a Konami game to look forward to for the 'Cube, that is actually worth looking forward to....mmm....Metal Gear Solid goodness.

The only things I would wan't from Konami are as follows:
Goemon game (these rule)
A Real Contra (these rule)
A DDR game (these rule)
These suck:
Disney Sports titles (these suck)
Deadly Arts (Deadly Farts)
Going to war without France is like going fishing without an accordion.

im not mad at kojima for anything, in fact, im grateful hes working on GCN project(s) (if he is)
but face it or not so far the konami support hasnt excactly been satisfying

if this is true, that would be so great
a MGS with graphics even much better than MGS2 (and hopefully less crappy annoying radio calls and cutscenes)
would be great

What the fanboy inside of me wants to say:

*pimpslaps the PS2 and Xbox* Who's yo' daddy? *slap*

What I have to say:

Well, if NOE was first to confirm "Metroid GBA" as a "Metroid IV," despite rebuffals from NOA, then if NOE has confirmed any kind of Metal Gear game, then I'll take it as my bread and butter.

yeah i agree
lets see, but oh this could be so great

and whats up with the reports on gamingage.com about this game being multiplattform?
could hardly be if nintendo and konami are working together nor would Miyamoto talk about a multiplattform game

There might be a multi-platform game and a Nintendo exclusive one.  That is, assuming this is true.  Also, I don't hate Konami, I just don't like Kojima.  He's a great designer and all, but he thinks he should be king of the industry.  Just my two cents, I can't really purport what someone else thinks.

In addition, I find the idea of MGS2: Substance funny.  I never knew console games would require you to buy a brand new game just to play what should have been in the game in the first place.

well, hes young, hes very good, so hes arrogant and self confident
but i bet that deep inside hes nothing compared to myiamoto

I mean, Myiamoto is to gaming what John Lennon, Bach and Mozart were for music. Im sure that I will visit hes grave when he dies, and I bet a couple of you would too.

He really deserves some kind of Honor not related to the videogaming industry, and honor for peacefully (as in non-violent games) donating masterpieces to the Industry. Like a Nobel Prize

I like your thoughts Hemmorrhoid. The guy is truly amazing, especially when you take into account that he came into industry almost by accident.

Shoot, the way games are becoming significant in our society, an actual Nobel like award for a developer like Miyamoto maybe a possiblity rather than a joke.

And I guess they were wrong about the new GC Zelda having the subtitle: The Wind Waker too.

Throwing in petty arguments like these lead to nothing, as it's not confirmed by NOE nor NOA through any official press, so it makes more sense to hit a pig with a stick right now.

I love these "confirmations" sites get from NOE.

"Hello, Nintendo of Europe."
"Uhm...yeah...could you please direct me to...*shuffles through papers*....MetalgearscomingtoGamecube?"
"What?"
"That's all I needed to know! *click*"
