I'm just curious, how many of you are having your Wii sit flat or standing up in its stand?

Don't have one yet, but I'll definitely be using the Wii's stand. The stand is pivotal to the console's aesthetic appeal. Without it, it just kinda looks like one of those cheap $20 dvd players. Funny that it doesn't actually play them.

Mine is flat, but I agree the system looks much, much better when it's in its stand.

It looks better standing up, we put it horizontal for awhile since the dogs where brushing up against the chair I have it on. (The living room is being remodeled.) I was surprised it was in standby because I have Connection24 on and the consoles was a little warm.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

Not too sure if I like the stand, the wii doesn't really click into place but maybe that's a good thing. But if I just leave it there horizontally it's so small like someone could set a single DVD on top of it and it would disappear.

I don't like having anything on it's side. It's just a personal preference. I actually think that the Wii would look better laying down horizontally, however, there wasn't enough real estate on the top of my TV to provide adequate support (the back of the Wii would have been hanging over by a good inch. With that said, I ended-up using the stand to position the Wii vertically. It's small size made it possible to move my DVD Player/HT Receiver, Satellite receiver and XBox over about an inch (they sit on an end table next to the TV) and place the Wii alongside everything else. What I really hate about having the Wii standing up like that is I can't keep the WaveBird Receiver and Memory Card in the GameCube ports at all times like I had wanted to. I just know that doing that would expose the Wii to too much dust which would probably do bad things to these GameCube ports over time. Not a big deal, but slightly disappointing.
PEACE--->Rhoq

Started off standing up on the floor while I sort of hacked things together to make it work.  Now, it's horizontal in my entertainment center, mounting my Xbox 360.

Started with it in the stand. Didn't really like how it was "tilted", so I stood it up by itself. Then I was like, what the hey, and put it horizontal. I think it is my favorite this way.

I like how it looks in the stand, but I'd put it horizontal if I was in need of space.  I had it horizontal on my parents' VCR, but it got really hot.  Partly the VCR?  Or it is the OVERHEAT?
That's my opinion, not yours.

Standing up.
I have to say, when the Wii is standing up it looks like it could be on display in a Art Gallery. It has the 2nd best piece of technology I own that I can say looks like a piece of art. The 1st being Apple's G4 Cube.
