TalkBack / Re: Nintendo 2DS Impressions

I wonder if the fact that the 2DS displays 3DS games on a screen that perfectly matches their intended resolution is the reason for the perceived difference in vibrancy. The vertical pixel grouping in 2D mode on the 3DS always made images look too soft for me (my slider never goes below max these days), but because the 2DS is displaying the images on a true 400x240 window matching pixel for pixel correctly rather than stretching the 400x240 image over 800x240 the images should appear more crisp and vibrant. Same for DS games, stretching the DS resolution over less pixels means bette picture quality.

I don't know if it was the empty line-up this holiday or some other factor that made me put this on my radar, but it is. It definitely looks passable for 3DS game and more importantly like a genuine effort to produce a good game. I don't know yet, but depending upon the inclusion of online play and the review I might have to give in to my curiosity and pick it up.

I understand that the 3DS's weak CPU means a limited amount of processes can be relegated to physics, but saying Splinter Cell is the ceiling is just insulting. Revelations' animations seem to outclass Splinter Cell's at every point.

Someone really needs to slap this guy across the face for even suggesting the PoS (piece of sh!t) that Splinter Cell 3D was, actually pushed the 3DS's limits.

Better yet, someone should slap him across the face with a Revelations box....

I would have bought the hell out of this game.....if it was on the eshop.

I can't speak on GTAV, but CoD will be on all available systems this fall/winter.
from iPhone to 3DS/Vita to Wii to PS360 to Wii U & PC

GTAV was part of the original rumors coming from 01.net, so I'm sure we will see it come to light at E3 as just about everything else they were talking about came true.
I know you're pretty reliable, but do you know CoD 3DS and Wii U for sure, or are you just speculating based on their prior platform choices?

In other words, has a source clued you in on this?

This is looking pretty nice so far and I'll definitely keep my eye on it.
Some complaints, concerns, and questions though (disregarding the fact that this is pre-alpha):
- Changing the rollercoaster type to wooden didn't actually change the track type (really hoping this won't be the case in the final game)
- No supports (yet, I'm assuming)
- some textures from what I could see, look a little rough (cruise ship, etc.)
- Framerate dips to 30fps every once in a while (would be amazing if they could get it to stay constant)
- Will there be option to create buildings and scenery yourself? How varied is the selection?
- Is this retail?

Though what I've seen in that video looks promising when you consider it is pre-alpha, I can;t help but feeling that it will be overshadowed by RCT 3D b/c of the backlog of customization items, assets, and options that have already been created and will likely end up in the 3DS version. I really don't think  this game will be able to achieve the same level. Thing is, I'm not really able to compare the games b/c N-Space hasn't shown us 1 second of footage from the game. If they can successfully port RCT 3 without too many graphical concessions, a horrid framerate, or ridiculously aggressive Level of Detail system (good draw distance, etc.). I'll likely stick with RCT 3D, but the lack of media make me feel like the game will be a massive disappointment (shovelware). In that case, I will definitely be watching this VERY closely.

Will the 3DS eshop have non-game apps?

Sweet interview, I am a big racing game fan. I think that ridge racer won't really have the graphical prowess of the Asphalt game and the whole "licensed cars" thing though so could be a let down. All in all I might pick it up but for me Asphalt is the better game here.
Also, if you had Asphalt on the iphone you would know that the 3DS asphalt is more of a port than this Ridge Racer. All that was improved in asphalt at the moment seems to be the framerate and 1 or 2 new stages

I forgot to mention, what they have done is a cheap game made cheaply. Basically what they have done is taken bits from mariokart and the NFS team stuff and made a shameless piece of plagiarism rip off crap.
Also, if you had Asphalt on the iphone you would know that the 3DS asphalt is more of a port than this Ridge Racer

The part about multitasking is partially correct, but also incorrect. When multitasking you can return back to the game only when using certain applications like the internet, friends list, etc.
