Eternal Mafia Day II
« on: September 10, 2010, 04:32:20 PM »
"Confound this blasted piece of magick possessed technology!" Shouted grumpy old Maximilian Roivas. He was slapping the poor hapless gamecube as it had yet again frozen on him while he was playing a psychological thriller game.

"Oh, let it alone, it's not going to start working again because you hit it," Dr. Edward Roivas muttered from the table as he poured over some ancient documents.

"I'll bet it's because you suck at this game," chuckled Michael Edwards, "Move over, it's my turn."

"I really think we should be doing something more practical than playing with those fancy electronics," Edward began rubbing his temples, "At the rate we are going the Ancients will have passed away from old age before we find anything out."

"I still say we should destroy this purple cube of games," spat out Maximilian, "certainly something like this is possessed of dark magick and it will surely murder us in our sleep".

"No, it won't. It is an inanimate object powered by electricity. It cannot do anything outside of what it was designed to do"

"And what if it was designed to kill us in our sleep? What then, Doctor?"

Young Alex Roivas' scream broke the old men's squabble. "Oh no! They'redead!"

The men ran out of the room and found several others already gathered around two bodies being laid on the floor: Khush and Super, the Psychologist and the Investigator respectively.

~~

What happened:

Vote was tied!

Sudoulous 2
Apdude 1
Mop it up 2
thatguy 2

Dead:
Super - The Acolyte of Light
Khushrenada - Clinical Psychologist

I didn't specify it in the rules, but a tie will mean that no one dies.

Day 2 has now begun. It will end at approximately 12PM tomorrow and an hour after that is reserved for last minute night actions before I post the next day.

Oh, man--total bullshit.  VOTE STRATOS   :Q

Since we didn't vote out someone the two deaths must have been caused by the mafia and the killer.  Can you specify who killed who?

I was going to leave it anonymous but I could reveal them if people wanted me to. Either post in the thread or PM me and if I get two more requests for it aside from Vudu I will reveal today's kills and future ones as well. I don't remember what the mafia precedent was in previous games.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Well, Khush did vote maneuvering to keep me alive, just because.  He also said he was aware of the detective before he died.  And was insistent on Sundoulous, despite him being a new player, which is a bit un-Khush like. I'm leaning in that direction.

Dammit, I was working with Khush. I finally manage to reach out and get someone on my side and the lousy mafia/killer/whoever kills him the first day. I'm just not cut out for this game.

Given history, I think we need to consider that stevey may be behind Khush's death, whether as mafia or the killer.

I don't know Insanolord. stevey knows that everybody is aware of his vendettas. He just wouldn't go kill Khushrenada because most people would pin it on stevey. I think a more likely scenario is that someone is using that rivalry to put blame on stevey.

Just for clarification...was the person infected with the bonethief aware of his/her status at the start of the game?  Is this a status that is known automatically, or is it something that has to be discovered?

This is a bad first day. With no one voted out, there's not much knowledge to be gained.

I'm curious who it was that changed the vote to a tie. For townies, ties are bad, but for Mafia they can be good. I guess there's no way to know who did it... and also, I s'pose they wouldn't know what would have happened in a tie unless they asked Stratos directly.

From what I could tell, Khush made it clear he had a roll to me, without expecting reciprocation from me.  He made it clear he knew the investigator.  Maybe someone lied about having a role, and found out SUPER's role in the process?

This is I believe my second game playing with SUPER. I don't have much insight into his enemies however SUPER has played this game for a long time so I will post the players which are in this game that have been playing as long as he has.

vudu,Nickmitch, toruresu thatguy and Insanolord.

It isn't much but it is something.

As a aside I don't know who killed Khushrenada or SUPER at this time so this is just speculation on my part.

Wow... Bad way to end this day.

Some important things came up, so I wasn't able to get on at all today for one reason or another. Otherwise, I would have tried to stop this disgrace a little earlier. I realize that I changed my status to hidden a few days ago. I hope that no one took that to mean that I was being secretive. I just assumed that was the point of this game. If I am wrong, I sincerely apologize, and will not do so next time around.

It seems as if people have assumed falsely about my morals during this game of mafia, and it appears that I have been away too long to do anything about it.

Since this won't actually matter in the long run, I am going to vote for someone other than Maxi. Some people would go for the revenge aspect during these next 15 hours, but not me. I shall instead Vote Sundulos.

Thank you for your time.

The word on the street is that people do want to distinguish between Mafia and Killer hits.

Mafia hit Super and Killer hit Khush.

Also, the bonethief chooses a person and then that person is notified of their infection. They can tell people in PMs about their status but if that person posts about in a thread they die and the bonethief is able to choose another victim. The bonethief only dictates what the victim will vote for. It is an evil vote changer.

I realized that I forgot a rule to account for what happens to the bonethief's victim if the bonethief gets voted out. so the solution is going to be that the bonethief dies and the victim returns to normal status. Since I didn't write a proper rule for this scenario before hand I decided this is fair for all involved.

Alright people I have a feeling I'm going to die tonight via Mafia or killer. If the defender is out there I would really appreciate some protection. At the very least if I survive I will be a extra vote to try to vote out Mafia or the killer. The numbers game is very important in this game especially with the bone thief out there. I implore you to protect me.
Also I need the Doctor to contact me.
If I do die here is my thoughts on Mafia and killer.

For Killer I think Mop it up or vudu are the killer.

Mafia I think are jrlibrarian, Insanolord, apdude, and thatguy.

Only thing that I know for sure is that jrlibrarian is the Greater Guardian.

Right, I get ya. Girls are always evil, that's your game.

Also, yeah, I'm pretty sure this one day is lasting all weekend:

Most people have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as one day; what is wrong with that? It gives people a chance to pop in for the day since Friday can sometimes be a packed day for people.

That's what I had in mind. Traditionally most mafia games run that way. Friday-Sunday are one long day.

Then again, the opening post says it's just one day. Either Stratos changed his mind or forgot what day it was.

I considered, because of the time the days start, just making Friday a single day and then making the weekend day run from saturday until Monday at noon. But I had already mentioned before that the weekend day was Friday-Sunday so I'm sticking with that.

Please stop demanding for the locking like this, Maxi. It makes me want to delete those posts.

While we are on the subject of the the mafia and killer kills anybody have an idea on who would kill SUPER and Khushrenada when they have those roles?

I wonder if the killer is Sundoulos. Maybe Khushrenada had a real reason to vote for him. Maybe Sundoulos wanted to silence him before that got out of hand. I can't think of why the killer would choose Khushrenada unless he knew something that might lead to the killer's discovery.

Khush plays Mafia fast and loose; he may have had a good reason for going with Sundulous, or he may have been doing it for the hell of it. The latter is probably less likely due to how new Sundulous is, but you never know with Khush.

There are a lot of new people in this game, which means it's more likely someone new has a big role, either for the townies or the mafia. I don't like to discourage new people from playing, and I doubt anyone else does (with maybe a couple exceptions), but the sheer amount of them in this game means we can't just blindly give them a pass.

There is 13 people still alive in the game.3 new people are still alive that is their first game.It isn't like half of the people are new. So I think the odds show that there isn't a high likelyhood of having a role. Also I would think that a more experenced player would go after Khushrenada because they know what he is capable of.

Also you guys are agreeing with someone who is voting for Sundolous in this thread, jrlibrarian. He is a Mafia member the mafia members have no way of knowing exactly what role anybody has.

Well, to be honest, I wondered why Khush singled me out (other than the totally random reasoning he stated), hence my confusing questions about the bone thief earlier in the thread.  To clarify, I wanted to know if I was possibly infected without knowing, primarily because one of the votes against thatguy changed to Mop it up.   Note that when I had posed the question, I had missed the part of the rules that indicated that the Psychologist could also change votes.   I fail at reading comprehension, apparently.

Hopefully, if Khush had discovered anything, he would have PM'ed someone else more directly about it.   I had no idea of Khush's role, (and I didn't know whether he and thatguy were mafia or not); my own vote the first day changed to thatguy simply for convenience...I wanted to save my own skin.  Thatguy already had one vote from Shaymin, and since he voted with Khush against me, it was convenient to vote for him in order to get a tie.

P.S.  I'm not sure that all of the Lindy icons could get any more confusing...

Jeez, calm down Maxi; you take this game too seriously. If you read what I said, I was actually arguing that Khush may not have had a good reason for voting for Sundulous, and that we shouldn't jump onto a bandwagon for him when we have much better evidence against jrlibrarian. The second paragraph was just me pointing out that, even though there are still way more veterans, there are more newbies than usual, so it's more likely than usual that we have someone new in a role. You seem pretty damn sure jrlibrarian's mafia, and you've got good evidence to back that up, and he's new; that's what got me thinking about that.

I just don't know why Khushrenada would be a threat to the killer unless he discovered who he is. Khushrenada is very good about sniffing out Mafia so I would think he'd want him alive, at least for now. The killer would want to eliminate the Mafia, too, as he could be hit at any time by them. They're his real threat.

Then again, I s'pose he might have thought Khushrenada was Mafia. That's very possible. I'm just thinking aloud since there's nothing else to do today.

I almost made Lindy icons mandatory for participation in this game because I saw the hilarity and confusion that was possible. In the end I just switched my own to aid in the confusion. Mantorok strongly encourages everyone to don Lindy masks to lower their enemy's sanity meters and ward off evil spirits of magick.

Seeing as according to Maxi, I have no idea what I'm doing, I would like to know where he got all this information about me. As the rest of you may have noticed, I've been off and on the last two days, because personal things got in the way of a forum game. I apologize for that, but there was no avoiding it. I come on Friday night and find that Maxi has started a bandwagon against me that I had no information about. Since I will be lynched tomorrow at noon, do you mind explaining at all why you chose me in the first place?

Let's get dangerous.

Still needs a cape.

"I am the terror that flaps in the night... I am the surprise you find in your cereal box!"
"A creature revolting against a creator is revolting against the source of his own powers--including even his power to revolt...It is like the scent of a flower trying to destroy the flower." - C.S. Lewis, in a preface to Milton's Paradise Lost
