No love for Tupac? I know Biggie was a lyrical genius but Pac was a rhythmic genius. His lines just hit and the never followed any standard of normal rhymes. Hell, sometimes he wouldn't even rhyme at all and just say a deep phrase.

I like Pac's for his rhymes and Biggie for his beats, though I wish Biggie had more tracks like Dead Wrong, too much RnB like crap through his career.  As far as disses, 2pac definitely had the upper hand there w/ Hit em Up:

"Grab your glocks when you see 2pac
Call the cops when you see 2pac, uh
Who shot me,
But your punks didn't finish
Now you 'bout to feel the wrath of a menace
$$$$, I hit 'em up"

Nothing like mocking people after they tried to shoot you.  A lyrical teabaggin indeed.

None of these guys are geniuses--they're just really good at rapping.

Flame on.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I've never been a huge fan of Pac.  I just never got into his cadence and voice.  He's the realest dude ever though...a lot of guys say they're this and that, but Pac was CRAZY.  Watch his interviews, he's like some sort of cult leader.  Super smart, charismatic, and a great speaker.  He's about as close to Malcolm X as you're going to see in this lifetime.

This is the future of Rap.

Not hip/hop.

Rap makes you want to do dance because rap is almost entirely the beat. Mixed with indi ****, it sounds really good.

Rap is something you do.  Hip-hop is something you buy.

Is that how you define it?
I know alot of people that would like to disagree.

Hahaha.  That's a play on the saying, "Rap is something you do. Hip-hop is something you live." I've always hated this sentiment...it's such elitist backpacker B.S.  Like people are so deep because they listen to MURS or something.

What kind of hip hop song topics do you guys like to listen to?

I like songs about blue flowers, sunshine in a bag, suburban american, and things that are dynamic in the evening air. Oh, I also like songs about ghost stories of people murdered on deserted islands.  Songs about religion are coo too, they make me giggle.

I know it must seem weird but I first started out by listening to Korean Rap, The biggest rap artist in Korea recently released a track featuring Rakim which suprised me that he would agree to it in the first place.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFNx5M_eOto  a slight plug for one of my favorite groups but I wondered if anyone on the boards would be interested in it.  I can't say I am into Rap/Hip Hop just that I like all genres of music

Since Amazon is giving away $3 towards MP3 music albums

Get $3 in MP3s for Free from Amazon

List of Amazon MP3 albums $5 or less

Is there anything that anyone recommends?
preferably off the $5 or less album list.

So what you guys think of Forever?  Usually, when a bunch of big artists come together on a track, its a mess, but this turned out pretty dope, love the main beat.  4 different verses with 4 very different styles.  And Daaaaaaaaamn.  Looks like Em is fully recovered from his detox.  Dude is on his game now.  If I had to rate the artists on this song I'd go:
Em
Drake
Kanye
Lil Wayne

That song is old as hell. At least the original is.

If you think that beat is dope, then this beat will blow your mind (I hope you heard this already).

Quality is terrible, so I suggest you download it. It's much better in high quality. It's off Lil Wayne's Mix tape - No ceilings

Not bad, but I like the forever beat better.  More bass, more intense.

Yeah.  But it so bad it makes me laugh.  "Hello its the Martian"...."If I had one guess well I guess I'd be New Orleans".   He usually annoys me, but his spot on this track just makes me laugh so I suppose thats good.
