WB has full control of their DC Comics properties, so why isn't Disney doing anything to regain control of their Marvel properties?

Disney is doing everything they can to regain control short of breaking the bank. It's just that Marvel made a very desperate deal to keep their heads afloat. Nothing much Disney can do but wait for someone to slip up.

The CW & DC are developing another DC show based on The Avenger (1939 pulp hero)
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/movienewsandreviews/news/?a=89435

I hope they don't call it The Avenger as I'm sure Marvel would have them in court over that (trying to cash in on HYPE ;) )

details are at the link.

The Avengers is a much more pulpy character more similar to the shadow or doc savage.

DC and The CW are also working on a pilot for an hourman TV series.

Glad I'm not the only one still watching AoS here. another week, another improvement. Still wish they could move thing a little faster though. Showing is coasting at a 6/6.5 and they need to push it up to an 8/8.5 and then eventually crank it up to 11 for a for the season finale.

I know we are only 6 episodes in and barely past 1/4 of the season, but they need to start raising the stakes. Involve the background big bad plot building it up every week, even if the central issue of the episode has nothing to do with it, show some over arching plot developing in the background

I don't care enough about how Coulson came back for that to be the sole reason to tune in next week, but if the reason behind how Coulson came back has something to do with a much larger background plot, then now we are getting somewhere. So I just want them to speed up the plot development a little and add a few layers of complexity as far as how tangled some story threads are.

edit: and almost forgot the real reason I came in here.

Another name has been thrown in the hat for the rumored role of "Wonder Woman" in the Clark & Bruce Bromance Movie - Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion, Quantom of Solace)

so it comes down to this:

Damn Jamie Alexander is fine as hell. Jamie Alexander and Lynn Collins are my top two picks for a Wonder Woman film based on mostly looks and build.

I just hope they go with a Wonder Woman with Greek features tbh. It seems nearly every comic artist forgets that Wonder Woman is of greek descent. (not that it truly matter since the amazons seem pretty damn diverse for a isolated society of women.)

One of my biggest fears for Wonder Woman in film is that the studio decides to give her secret ID. Having an alternate ID works for many heroes, but one of the things I like about Wonder Woman is that Diana price and Wonder Woman are one in the same morseo than bats or supes.

The CW is bringing yet another DC property to the small screen.

http://m.deadline.com/2013/11/izombie-dc-comics-cw-rob-thomas-diane-ruggiero/
Quote
EXCLUSIVE: After wrapping his fan-funded Veronica Mars movie, Rob Thomas is reuniting with the filmā€™s co-writer Diane Ruggiero for a zombie drama series project based a DC property. The CW has put in development iZombie, which Thomas and Ruggiero will write based on the characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred and published by DC Comicsā€™ Vertigo imprint. iZombie, from Warner Bros TV and Rob Thomas Prods, is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coronerā€™s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpseā€™s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head. Thomas and Rugierro, who previously served as an exec producer on Thomasā€™ series Veronica Mars and Cupid, are executive producing with fellow frequent Thomas collaborators Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge.

All these CW/DC projects may be unconnected, but they are not letting Marvel have all the comic TV money. Pretty soon The CW will be known as The DC.

Current DC Properties currently in the works:

The Flash (The CW)
The Avenger (The CW)
The Hourman (The CW)
The Amazon (The CW)
iZombie (The CW)
Gotham (Fox)

Well Izombie wouldn't be connected anyway since its not a DCU book. Its a self published indie title from the Vertigo imprint. Going to be intresting how the CW promotes it as its pretty different than the every day pretty people doing awesome things, but I'm guessing that's mostly due to the Mike Allard art.

But any show on the CW with a vast ammount of attractive alt girls is fine by me. while were at it let's get the hack/Slash series staring Allison Scagliotti.

Which is why I said its not DCU. Vergito is. Separate imprint that's mostly creator owned work.  Other than that we would be seeing Batman in Fables.

American Horror Story is probably on it's best season yet,
s3 so far > s1 > s2

so here is a preview of next weeks continued craziness:
http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/11/american-horror-story-episode-306.html

and some news related to next season:
Quote from: re: Angela Basset & Kathy Bates returning for Season 4
ā€œI have approached them and they wanna do it,ā€ says Murphy. He adds, ā€œThatā€™s very exciting when you can work with A.) actresses youā€™ve always idolized and B.) those two are loving this season. They love what they get to do. Kathy Bates sent the writers a basket of plush toys all in the shapes of disemboweled organs. It doesnā€™t get better than when an Oscar winner sends you a grab bag of stuffed pancreas to say ā€˜Thank you and job well done.ā€™ā€

Let hope next season is as coherent as this season and not the overloaded mess that was last season.

I thought this was a Superman movie?

Also, aren't they kinda rushing the story? Are general audiences going to be able to follow this? I mean, I get it, most people here will get it, but a large chunk of movie goers only know these characters as movie characters. Adding a character with a full background is going to be confusing.

I was posting from my phone before so it was hard to post pics and stuff, but now that I'm not on my phone,
who is the supposed front runner for Nightwing....

are you ready?

ok, here it is:

Adam Driver....?
who is that?

I'm being told not to laugh as this is a serious tip from a trusted source...

are you joking?

oh... no, you were serious...?

well, that's a little better I guess (not really), but surely there were other choices right?

Marvel must be sucking all the talent out of Hollywood, or have it all on a reserve list, because where they seem to get the casting right, DC seems to be struggling a little.

Comicbook movie is unreliably as hell TBH. But this guy would be terrible nightwing eitherway. Get somebody like Ryan Glosing and play up the he fucks everything that moves and you have nightwing.

Also I wouldn't say Marvel is sucking all the talent. Its just that we think all hero movies should have well known actors at this point instead of unknowns.

I feel Superman Batman and the Marvel nextflix should go with unknown actors rather than high profile people.

Comicbook wasn't the only one reporting this.
I think it was deadline that had it up too.

But it had to be a joke to put that goofy looking guy as nightwing.
I dint know who he is, or what he's been in, but he really doesn't "look" the part.

I figured this would happen after all the guts that were busted after the last suggestion,
but 2 new names have surfaced for the Nightwing role, the latter of the 2 atleast looks the part.

http://www.superheromoviesnews.com/2013/11/exclusive-two-more-names-pop-up-for.html

#1 is from Gossip Girl - Dan "Lonely Boy" aka Gossip Girl

#2 is my choice based on looks alone.
